Protein Skimmer
Installation Guide
Please open the package carefully and check for damaged or lost parts.
PARTS INCLUDED:
•Main skimmer body
•Collection cup and lid
•Air silencer
•Air hose
•Quick-precise adjusting valve
•Needle wheel pump
•Rubber Feet
Assembling the main unit
1. Connect rubber feet to the main base.
2. Connect the air hose from the air intake to the silencer.
3. Install the cup into the neck of the skimmer. A 1/8th clockwise turn will keep the cup in position.
(DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN SKIMMER CUP AS DAMAGE MAY RESULT)
4. To speed up the break in process, it is recommended to use warm water to clean the skimmer
before installation. (DO NOT USE ANY SOAP OR CHEMICALS TO CLEAN THE SKIMMER)

Select a suitable place to set your protein skimmer
1. For best results place the skimmer in 8 to 10 inches of water. Please make sure that the skimmer
is in no more than 10 inches of water. Otherwise, the Quick- precise adjusting valve will not
function properly.
2. The pump must be completely submerged underwater when in use.

To Start
1. Plug in the pump.
2. The main chamber will fill with bubbles. Carefully adjust the Quick-precise adjusting valve
(clockwise to close, the water level in the chamber will go up; counter-clockwise to open, the
water level will go down). Adjust the water level within the skimmer to where the cup meets
the neck.
Recommendations
•For best performance, please clean the collection cup frequently. Use a sponge and warm water
to clean it. (DO NOT USE ANY SOAP OR CHEMICALS TO CLEAN THE COLLECTION CUP).
•Regular maintenance (see below) of the pump will ensure a long life and maximum
performance.
•It may require 2 – 4 weeks for the skimmer to reach maximum performance due to tiny amounts
of oil or remnants left from manufacturing. Skimmer performance may be erratic during this
time and be sure to allow ample time for the skimmer to break-in before making adjustments.
Pump Maintenance
1. Remove the air tube from the venturi
2. Pull out the venturi
3. Release the 4 screws at the base of the body
4. Remove the body
5. Remove and clean the bubble plate
6. Turn the volute cover counterclockwise and remove
7. Remove the needle wheel
8. Clean all parts and follow these steps in reverse to reassemble
