PROCEDURE
1. Remove original discharge chute assembly from
mower deck.
NOTICE: Steps 2 – 3 apply to models 994132, 994133,
994134, 994135, 994136, 994137 and 994138 only.
For all other models, skip to step 4.
2. Align chute baffle mounting bracket (item 28) over
holes in deck. Depending on deck size, mounting
bracket aligns with one of three different hole sets.
See Figure 2 and Figure 3.
3. Secure chute baffle mounting bracket with two 3/4"
hex bolts (item 29) and two 5/16"-18 nyloc locking
flange nuts (item 30). See Figure 4.
4. Mount chute mount bracket (item 1) to deck with one
1 1/4" hex bolt (item 23), one 13/32" x 1 1/2" x 1/4"
flat washer (item 24) and one 3/8" locking flange nut
(item 21). See Figure 5.

5. Insert discharge pin (item 2) into square hole in deck.
Secure with two 1 1/2" round head square neck bolts
(item 3) and two 5/16" top locking flange nuts (item 4).
NOTICE: Chute mount bracket for 48" and 52" decks has
two mounting positions. Chute mount bracket for 60"
decks has one mounting position.

6. Align rubber chute (item 16) with chute support
bracket (item 17) and position over chute mount
bracket.
7. Secure chute assembly to mount bracket with three
1 1/2" round head square neck bolts (item 8) and
three 3/8" locking flange nuts (item 9). Tighten
hardware.
8. Secure chute sides to support bracket with two 1" round
head square neck bolts (item 18) and two 3/8" top
locking flange nuts (item 9). See Figure 8.

9. Align chute control plate (item 5) with chute mount
bracket and position three spacers (item 7) between
them.
10. Secure chute control plate to chute mount bracket with
three 1 1/2" round head square neck bolts (item 8) and
three 3/8" top locking flange nuts (item 9).

11. Insert block-off baffle plate (item 6) into slot in chute
support bracket.
12. Install one 3/8" flat nylon washer (item 10) onto
each baffle slide pin (item 12) and position slide
pins between block-off baffle plate and chute
control plate. Secure with two 3/8" x 1" hex bolts
(item 13).
13. Install one 3/8" flat nylon washer (item 10) and one
3/8" locking flange nut (item 9) onto each baffle side
pin, but DO NOT tighten hardware.
IMPORTANT: Ensure baffle plate moves up and down
freely.
See Figure 11.
14. Position OCDC baffle lift cam bracket (item 11)
between block-off baffle plate and chute control
plate.
15. Position one 1" flat steel washer (item 14) between
cam bracket and chute control plate and secure
with one 1 1/4" round head square neck bolt and
top locking flange nut (item 20).
16. Install one 1/16" flat steel washer (item 27) onto
1 1/4" hex bolt (item 15). Insert hex bolt through
block-off baffle plate and cam bracket.
17. Install two sleeve bushings (item 22) and one 3/8"
locking flange nut (item 9) onto hex bolt. Tighten
hardware.
See Figure 12.
18. Remove cotter pin from clevis pin and remove
clevis pin from cable end. Retain parts.
19. Position cable (item 25) between block-off baffle
plate and chute control plate.
20. Secure cable end to cam bracket with clevis pin and
cotter pin. Bend cotter pin ends.

21. Position cable in chute control plate slot.
22. Unlock cable and extend and retract cable to
ensure block-off baffle plate lifts and lowers.
NOTICE: If baffle plate does not operate smoothly,
adjust cable position.
23. Tighten jam nuts against chute control plate slot.
24. Position cable boot over cable threads so threads
are covered.
25. Tighten locking flange nuts against block-off baffle
plate until snug, but DO NOT completely tighten.
See Figure 10.
26. Remove upper nut, lock washer and lower jam nut
from upper cable end.
See Figure 14.
27. Insert cable end through hole in cable bracket
(item 26).
28. Reinstall lower jam nut and lock washer removed in
step 26 onto cable.
See Figure 15.
NOTICE: Flats on cable end mate with slotted hole in
bracket.
29. Insert cable end through slotted hole in cable
bracket.
30. Install upper nut removed in step 26 onto cable end
and tighten until snug.
31. Tighten lower jam nut against bracket.
See Figure 16.
32. Install T-handle onto cable end and secure with
T-handle mounting screw (item 25.).
33. Remove two 3/8" bolts and washers from right side
panel.
34. Mount cable bracket to side panel and secure with
hardware removed in previous step.

OPERATION
1. Unlock T-handle by rotating to center of clockwise /
counterclockwise (CW / CCW) range of travel. Baffle
plate will drop freely to lowest position.
NOTICE: Cable may remain unlocked when baffle plate
is in lowest position.
2. Pull T-handle out to raise baffle plate.
3. Turn T-handle fully CW or CCW to lock baffle plate
position.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT pull T-handle when cable is
locked (turned CW / CCW fully) or cable damage will
result.
