Intended Use
The BHM Turntable is a track accessory to be
used with the BHM track system and a xed
ceiling lift in a homecare setting, at nursing
homes and other assisted living centres. The
BHM Turntable allows the ceiling lift to pass
from a track path to another. Patient transferring
is performed under the supervision of a trained
caregiver as per the instructions outlined in this
manual. All other uses must be avoided.
The BHM Turntable must only be used for the
purposes stated above. It must be installed by
ArjoHuntleigh authorized personnel as per local
codes.
WARNING: The BHM Turntable is not
intended to be operated by the patient.
In the event of a malfunction, the patient
could get stuck.
WARNING: The BHM Turntable is for
transferring patients only. Do not use the
BHM Turntable for any other purpose.
Using this BHM Turntable outside the scope
of its intended use could lead to injuries.
Operational Life
This product is designed and tested for a useful
life of seven (7) years or 10 000 cycles —
whichever comes rst—at maximum safe
working load (SWL). It is subject to preventive
maintenance as specied in the “Care and
Maintenance” section.
A complete cycle is dened as the rotation of
the BHM Turntable to the desired track path and
its rotation to the initial track path.
Time equivalence between the number of
cycles versus the number of years is made
clear in the following table.

WARNING: The manufacturer cannot
ensure full safety for an accessory of which
the life span has been exceeded. Wear may
cause the breakage of a part and lead to a
patient fall.
The life span is the safe operating time period
before a complete overhaul is required.
Following are factors that have an impact on
the lift’s life span:
• aging of the unit;
• transfers per day;
• weight of the patient;
• maintenance frequency.
Product Identication
The product’s identication number
(specication, model, serial number) appears
on a silver label xed inside the track of the
BHM Turntable.
How to Use this Manual
To ensure the safe operation of the
BHM Turntable, read the entire manual carefully
before operating this product.
If anything is not completely understood, please
contact your local ArjoHuntleigh, agent for more
details. Failure to comply with warnings in this
manual may result in injuries.
Keep this manual handy and refer to it as
required. Make sure that all operators are
regularly trained in the use of the product as per
the information found therein.
The BHM Turntable must be used as per these
safety instructions.
Anyone using the BHM Turntable must also
have read and understood the instructions in
this manual.

Safe Working Load
The BHM Turntable has been designed to be
used with ArjoHuntleigh ceiling lifts with a safe
working load of 272 kg (600 lb) or less.
WARNING: The BHM Turntable is intended
to be used for residents whose weight is
within a specied safe working load (SWL).
Do not attempt to lift more than the lowest
weight limit indicated on the following:
• the track system
• the “maximum load” label on the
ceiling lift
• on the spreader bar
• on accessories
• on the sling.
Overloading any of these elements could
lead to a patient fall.
