M4 thread
The SWA is delivered with an adapter plate on the back of the device. With this adapter plate you have the
possibility to attach a mount with VESA standard (75/100, M4 thread) to integrate the SWA in your
workstation.
If you have decided to use our quick-change device (STAMA no.: 3180), please follow the instructions on
the following page.
2. Installation of the SWA

Mount the head section on the
adapter plate of the SWA.
Insert the monitor holder into
the wall bracket and fix it with
the adjusting screw.
Slide the SWA with head section
over the monitor holder until it
clicks into place.
Flip the safety clip forward to fix
the SWA in place.

Plug assignment
Connect the power supply unit with the
socket of the SWA. Fix the plug with the help of the two
screws.
2.2 Power supply

Connect the scanner to one of
the USB 2.0 ports of the SWA.
More information is available in
the Quickstep:
„0.6-QS_Scanner“
Additional devices can be connected to the SWA using a USB
hub (STAMA no. 3576).
2.3 Further connections of the SWA
Touch-Function:
Connect the USB cable to a
USB-A 3.0 port of the SWA and
the USB-B 3.0 connector of the
monitor.

Connect monitor to SWA via
HDMI cable.
Connect the pick-to-light connector to the PTL port.

Integrate the SWA into your
network via the Ethernet socket.
Optionally, you can use a switch
(STAMA no. 3635) for the
connection of several network
devices
or an access point (STAMA no.
3578) for the connection of wireless
devices to the SWA:

Connect the wires to the corresponding sockets
of the plug. Then insert the plug into the input
socket.
The earthing, power supply and the desired
inputs have to be connected according to the
wiring scheme shown on the right.
2.4.1 Assignment of the inputs
Pay attention to the maximum voltage of 24
VDC. Exceeding the voltage or reversing the
polarity will destroy the device!
No liability can be accepted for improper
wiring.

of the plug. Then insert the plug into the output

2.4.2 Assignment of the outputs
Client
The earthing, power supply and the desired
outputs have to be connected according to the
wiring scheme shown on the right.
Pay attention to the maximum current of 500
mA. Exceeding the current or reversing the
polarity will destroy the device!

Every SWA server and SWA client contains a
built-in internal key reader. Three keys are
provided, which can be assigned to different
user data.
For additional information on setting up the
keys, please refer to the Quickstep: „0.2-
QS_Assistant“
2.5 Key reader internal and external
External key reader:
The functionalities and set up are identical to
the internal key reader. The connection is made
via a USB port on the SWA. A USB hub may also
be required (see page 10).

3. System start
When everything has been connected, start the SWA
by pressing the „On/Off“ switch once. The LED ring
will now light up green. In case it does not, please
check the power supply.
