ARNOTT REAR AIR SPRING
FOR 2003-2009 MERCEDES-BENZ E-CLASS

If replacing an O.E. unit with an Arnott Air Spring you MUST replace both rear air
springs at the same time.
Replacing just one O.E. spring with the Arnott designed air spring may result in a
slight difference in heights between the O.E. side and new air spring side.This is due to
the vehicle’s ride height sensor reading different pressures in the new and O.E. springs
and automatically making adjustments for that.This does not occur if you replace both
sides at once.
The A-2724 Eliminates The Need For An Air Reservoir.

WARNING:
The air suspension system is under pressure (up to 10 bar, or 150 lbf/in). Verify pressure has been relieved
and disconnect power to the air suspension system prior to disassembly. Do not allow dirt or grease to enter the system.
Always wear standard hand, ear, and eye protection when servicing the air suspension system.

Proper installation is essential to experience and appreciate the benets of this system. Please take a moment
to review these installation instructions before you begin to install these components on your vehicle.The
removal and installation of air suspension products should only be performed by a fully qualied, ASE
Certied, professional.
It is equally important to be aware of all necessary safety measures while installing your new Air Suspension
System. This includes proper lifting and immobilizing of the vehicle and isolation of any stored energy to
prevent personal injury or property damage.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Reading this manual signies your agreement to the terms of the general release, waiver of liability, and hold harmless agreement,

• Not to be stored below 5oF (-15oC) or above 122oF (50oC).
• Avoid damage to air lines and cables.
• Removal and installation is only to be performed by fully qualied personnel.
• Use car manufacturer’s diagnostic software.
CAUTION:
Damage to the vehicle and air suspension system can be incurred if work is carried out in a manner other than specied
in the instructions or in a different sequence.
To avoid the possibility of short circuits while working with electric components consult your owner's manual on how to
disconnect your battery.
Consult your vehicle owner's manual, service manual, or car dealer for the correct jacking points on your vehicle and for
additional care, safety and maintenance instructions. Under no circumstances should any work be completed underneath
the vehicle if it is not adequately supported, as serious injuries and death can occur.
AIR SPRING REMOVAL
1. SETTHE STEERINGTO STRAIGHT AHEAD.
2. RAISETHE VEHICLE.
3. REMOVETHE REAR WHEELS. (FIGURES 1, 2)
The air spring(s) contains a solenoid valve. Once inated, only the “Mercedes DAS Star” diagnostic computer can deate
the air spring(s).

5. LOCATE AND REMOVETHE AIR LINE FROMTHE AIR SPRINGS TOP MOUNT USING A MERCEDES SOCKET
WRENCH (211 589 00 90 00) OR OTHER SUITABLE METHOD. (FIGURES 4, 5)
4. LOCATE AND REMOVETHE ELECTRICAL PLUG FROMTHE AIR SPRINGSTOP MOUNT. (FIGURE 3)
6. LOOSEN AND REMOVETHE LOWER SHOCK MOUNTING NUT AND BOLT. (FIGURE 6)

AIR SPRING INSTALLATION
1. INSTALLATION IS IN REVERSE ORDER OF AIR SPRING REMOVAL, WITHTHE EXCEPTION OFTHE
SECURED RESERVOIR HOSE.
Tighten all nuts and bolts to manufacturer's specications during the installation process.
10. REMOVE FACTORY AIR SPRING FROMTHE VEHICLE BY DISCONNECTINGTHE FACTORY RUBBER HOSE
LEADING FROMTHE AIR SPRING TOTHE AIR SPRING’S RESERVOIR. SECURETHE HOSE IN A SUITABLE
LOCATION AWAY FROM ANY MOVING PARTS OR COMPONENTS WITH EXCESSIVE HEAT. (FIGURE 10)

11. REMOVAL COMPLETE.
Arnott Air spring(s) contain a solenoid valve. Only the “Mercedes-Benz DAS Star” diagnostic computer software can
inate the air spring(s).
It is recommended to have your vehicle aligned after installation is completed.
