5. User Safety: Maintaining a lubricated belt is essential for your safety. An inadequately lubricat-
ed belt can lead to sudden stops or jerky movements, potentially causing accidents or injuries.
To learn how to lubricate a walking pad belt, refer yourself to the Lubrication guide in this manual.
Belt Alignment: Ensuring proper belt alignment in your walking pad is crucial for maintaining
performance, safety, and the longevity of your equipment. Regularly checking and adjusting the belt
alignment is a key maintenance practice that should not be overlooked. Here's why it's important:
1. Performance Enhancement: When the walking belt is correctly aligned, it moves smoothly
along the center of the deck. This promotes an optimal and consistent walking or running
experience, reducing wear and tear on the belt and the walking pad's motor.
2. User Safety: Proper belt alignment is essential for your safety. An off-center belt can cause
instability or unexpected movement, potentially leading to accidents or injuries during your
workout.
3. Equipment Durability: Correct belt alignment reduces friction and uneven wear on both the
belt and the deck. Over time, this helps extend the life of your walking pad, saving you on
maintenance and replacement costs.
To adjust the Belt Alignment, refer yourself to the Belt Adjustment guide in this manual.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE

ASCEND WOODEN WALKING PAD 18
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Belt Tension: Proper belt tension is a critical aspect of maintaining your walking pad's functionality and
ensuring a safe and effective workout experience. Regularly checking and adjusting the belt tension is
vital to prevent wear and tear on your equipment and maximize its longevity. Here's why it's important:
1. Belt Longevity: When the walking belt is correctly tensioned, it wears evenly, extending the life
of both the belt and the walking pad. An improperly tensioned belt can lead to uneven wear and
may require premature replacement.
2. Performance Optimization: A well-tensioned belt ensures that your walking pad operates
smoothly and efficiently. This promotes a comfortable walking or running experience, reducing
unnecessary stress on your joints and muscles.
3. User Safety: Correct belt tension is essential for your safety. An overly loose belt can cause
slippage or erratic movement, potentially leading to accidents or injuries during your workout.
To determine if the belt is correctly tensioned, you should be able to lift the edges of the belt slightly. It
should feel snug but not overly tight. To adjust the Belt Tension, refer yourself to the Belt Adjustment
guide in this manual.
Vacuuming inside: Maintaining the internal components of your walking pad is crucial for its perfor-
mance and longevity. One often-overlooked aspect of walking pad maintenance is keeping the inside of
the walking pad cover clean. Vacuuming inside the walking pad cover is a simple yet essential practice that
can significantly impact the functionality and durability of your walking pad. Here's why it's important:
1. Dust and Debris Accumulation: During use, dust, dirt, and debris can accumulate inside the
walking pad cover. Over time, this accumulation can clog ventilation and cooling systems, which
may cause your walking pad to overheat or work less efficiently.
2. Preventing Wear and Tear: The internal components of a walking pad, such as the motor and
electronics, are sensitive to dust and dirt. Accumulated particles can lead to increased friction
and wear on these components, potentially shortening their lifespan.
3. Reducing Noise and Vibrations: Dust and debris can interfere with the smooth operation of
your walking pad, leading to increased noise and vibrations during workouts. Regular vacuuming
can help maintain a quieter and more pleasant exercise environment.
4. Improving Safety: A clean interior is essential for safety. Dust or debris can cause electrical
issues or obstruct moving parts, potentially leading to accidents or equipment malfunctions.
Refer yourself to the Dusting and Vacuuming guide in this manual.
Hardware Inspection: Regularly inspecting and tightening the hardware of your walking pad is an essential
maintenance practice to ensure its safety, performance, and durability. Neglecting this aspect of mainte-
nance can lead to loose parts, unexpected issues, and potential accidents. Here's why it's important:
1. Equipment Stability: Frequent use of your walking pad can lead to vibrations and movement,
which may cause nuts, bolts, and screws to loosen over time. Regular inspections and tightening
help maintain the walking pad's structural integrity and prevent wobbling or instability.
2. Enhanced Safety: Loose hardware components pose a safety risk during workouts. Ensuring all
parts are securely fastened reduces the likelihood of accidents or injuries due to falling or
malfunctioning components.
3. Preventative Maintenance: Regular inspections can identify wear and tear on hardware
components before they become severe issues. Addressing minor problems promptly prevents
more significant and costly repairs down the road.
4. Longer Equipment Lifespan: Proper maintenance, including hardware inspection and tighten-
ing, can extend the life of your walking pad. It reduces strain on the equipment and helps avoid
damage that may lead to expensive repairs or replacement.
To inspect the hardware, refer yourself to the Hardware inspection guide in this manual.

MAINTENANCE GUIDES
BELT LUBRICATION
Step 1: Prioritize Safety
Start by ensuring your walking pad is switched off and safely unplugged from the wall to prevent any
accidents during the maintenance process.
Step 2: Access the Deck
You'll need access to the walking pad running deck, the smooth surface beneath the running belt. If the
belt is too tight to lift, you may need to loosen the rollers. To loosen the rollers, grab the Allen Key
provided with the product. Insert the Allen Key in the roller bolts located at the back of the product, on
each side. Loosen the roller bolts by COMPLETE anticlockwise turns and keep count of how many were
needed. Loosen each side with the same amount of turns. Once you have some slack, you're ready to
lubricate the deck.
Note: Keeping track of how many turns were done on the roller bolts is crucial to re-adjust the
walking pad after lubrication. If not done properly, you may need to adjust the belt, which is a
more complicated process.

ASCEND WOODEN WALKING PAD 20
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Step 3: Apply the Lubricant
Locate your strike zone on the running mat, the area where your feet consistently impact the surface.
Lift the mat gently with one hand and apply an even spread of the recommended 5ml of silicone oil or
spray onto the center of the running deck.
Step 4: Secure the Mat
Carefully lower the walking pad’s running belt back into place. If the belt had to be loosened, re-tighten
the roller bolts to ensure they are secure. Make sure to retighten the roller bolts in a clockwise fashion,
in the exact amount of turns that were done to loosen the walking belt. Note : Not completing the same
amount of turns may unadjust the walking belt. This can damage the belt and necessitate a lengthy
adjustment process to put back into place.
Step 5: Reconnect and Test
Plug the walking pad back in and power it on. Walk on the walking pad at a speed of 3 to 5 km/h for
approximately five minutes. This will allow the oil to distribute evenly across the deck surface, ensuring
a smoother and safer workout experience. To ensure the belt is properly lubricated, power off the
walking pad and slip your fingers underneath the belt. If it feels slick, it means the lubrication was done
properly. If it’s dry, you might need to restart the process.
Step 6: Cleaning up
Wipe any lubricant that has leaked from the running belt. The lubricant might have leaked on the
walking pad or on the floor underneath. Cleaning up ensures that no surface other than the belt is
slippery. Walking pad lubricant can also stain different materials, so please be mindful of leaks.
By following these steps, you can effectively lubricate the running deck of your walking pad, prolong-
ing its life and maintaining its performance. Always follow this guide when lubricating your walking
pad. You may also contact Ascend’s customer service for additional assistance.
