Guide rails/Telescopic guide rails
• The oven has four or five guide rails (Level 1 to 4/5), depending on the model. Level 1 is
mainly used in combination with bottom heat. The two upper levels are mainly used for the
grill function.
• Place the oven rack, baking tray or steam dish in the gap between the guide rail sliders.
• A number of shelf levels can have fully-retractable telescopic guide rails, depending on the model.
• Pull the telescopic guide rails out of the oven cavity completely and place the oven rack /
baking tray / steam dish on them. Then slide the oven rack / baking tray / steam dish on the
telescopic guide rails, back into the oven cavity.
• Only close the oven door when the telescopic guide rails have been returned completely
back into the oven cavity.
Cooling fan
• The appliance is fitted with a cooling fan that cools the housing, door and the appliance
control panel.
• After the oven is switched Off, the cooling fan continues to operate for a short while in order

Accessories
Your appliance is accompanied by a range of accessories, depending on the model. Only use
original accessories; they are specially suited to your appliance.
Not all accessories are suitable/available for every appliance (it may also differ by
country). All the accessories that are being used must be able to withstand the highest
temperature of the appliance. When purchasing, always provide the exact identification
number of your appliance. Please see the sales brochures or check online for more
details about optional accessories.
Accessories that can be supplied with your appliance (depending on the model)
Enamelled baking tray; to be used for pastries and cakes.
Oven rack; mainly used for grilling. A steam dish or pan with food
can also be placed on the oven rack. The oven rack is equipped
with a safety peg. Lift the rack slightly at the front to slide it out of
the oven.
Deep enamelled baking tray; to be used for roasting meat and baking
moist pastry. Never place the deep baking tray in the first level during
the cooking process, except when grilling food or using the roasting spit
and you are only using the deep tray as a drip tray.
Consult the cooking guidelines in this user manual to select the correct accessory
for your dishes.
As baking accessories heat up, their form may change. This does not affect
their functionality and their original form will be restored when they cool down.
• The grid or the tray should always be inserted into the groove between the two wire profiles.
• Insert the grid so that the small railing is in the oven interior (toward the back of the oven).

• The door switches interrupt the operation of the oven when the door is opened during use.
The oven continues operating when the door is closed.
• Some cookers have a ‘Soft close door system’ (depending on the model). When closing the
oven door, this system dampens the movement, from a certain angle, and silently closes the
oven door.
Push-pull knob
Some models can have push-pull knobs.
• Slightly push the knob until it pops out. The knob can be used now.
• After each use, rotate the knob back to the “Off” position and push it back in.
• The push-pull knob can only be pushed back when it is in the “Off” position.
Drawer
Your appliance has a drawer to store accessories like trays, shelves, grids, small pots and pans.
Warning! The inside surface of the drawer may become hot during use.
Do not store any food, plastic or inflammable materials in the drawer.
Door lock
Some models can have a door lock. This avoids children to open the door unwanted.
• When the door lock is activated:
▷Open the door slightly and move the latch in the middle top site of the door to the right.
▷Open the door fully.

Before using the oven
• Remove all accessories from the inside of the oven and clean them with warm soapy water.
Do not use any abrasive cleaning materials.
• Set the oven at its highest setting for one hour with top and bottom heat (see ‘Operating the
oven’). This will remove any protective grease used during manufacture.
• When heating the oven for the first time you will notice a ‘new-oven smell’. Do not worry,
this is normal. If necessary, switch on the cooker hood.
• After cool down, clean the oven with warm water.
• Only preheat the oven if it is required in the recipe.
Before using the induction hob
• Clean the glass ceramic surface with a damp cloth and some washing up liquid.
• Do not use aggressive cleaners, such as abrasive cleaners that could cause scratches,
abrasive dishwashing sponges, or stain removers.

EN 12
USE
Using the oven
Energy-conscious use of the oven
• Open the oven door as little as possible.
• Prepare dishes with the same cooking temperature simultaneously (e.g., an apple pie and an
oven dish) on the same grid, or above each other using hot air. You can also let meat stew
at the same time.
• Prepare more meals after each other, for example an oven meal after a cake. Often, the
preparation time of the second dish will be 10 minutes shorter because the oven is still hot.
• Because the oven is insulated, the residual heat from the oven will continue to cook dishes
with longer cooking times (from 1 hour). Turn the oven Off 10 minutes earlier than indicated,
but leave the door closed.
• Pre-heating is generally not necessary, with the exception of dishes with cooking times of
less than 30 minutes, or when indicated by a recipe.
• Remove everything you don’t need for the dish from the oven.
• Turn the oven Off before taking out the cooked dish.
Ovenware
• In principle, you can use any type of heat-resistant ovenware.
• Do not rinse glass ovenware with cold water immediately after use. The sudden temperature
difference can cause the glass to crack.
• Use black or dark baking tins. These conduct heat better and allow the food to cook
more evenly.
Do not cover the oven floor
• Covering the oven bottom with, for example, aluminium foil or a baking tray can lead to
overheating and damage to the enamel.
• It is possible to prevent spring forms from leaking onto the oven floor by folding a container
out of aluminium foil and placing it on the grid under the form or by laying baking paper
under it.
Roasting meat
• Large pieces of meat, from 1 kg, are the most suitable. The meat will get a regularly shaped,
crispy crust, with virtually no weight loss.
• Rub the meat with salt and spices fifteen minutes beforehand. Use 80 to 100 g of butter or
fat (or a mixture of the two) per 500 g of meat for roasting.

EN 13
Cooking times
• Flat, thin pieces require approximately 5 minutes less cooking time than thick or rolled
pieces of meat. When cooking larger pieces of meat, cook for 15 to 20 minutes longer per
500 grams extra.
• Put the meat in a roasting pan and douse in hot butter or fat. Place the meat in the roasting
pan with the fatty side facing up. Make sure to baste meat without a fatty side every
15 minutes.
• Meat with a fatty side should be basted every 30 minutes.
• If the gravy is too dark, add a few spoonfuls of water now and then during roasting.
• Cover the meat loosely with foil and let it stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Oven functions table
Your appliance is accompanied by a range of oven functions, depending on the model.
Consult the table to select the preferred function. Also, consult the instructions for preparation on
the dish packaging.

Residual heat indicator; The hob has a residual heat indicator for each cooking
zone to show those which are still hot. Although the hob is switched Off, the
indicator ‘H’ will remain on for as long as the cooking zone is hot!
Avoid touching them when this indicator is lit. Danger! Risk of burns.
Fault codes; See ‘Troubleshooting table’.
Induction noises
A ticking sound
This is caused by the capacity limiter on the left and right zones. Ticking can also occur at
lower settings.
Pans are making noise
Pans can make some noise during cooking. This is caused by the energy flowing from the hob
to the saucepan. At high settings this is perfectly normal for some pans. It will not damage either
the pans or the hob.
The fan is making noise
To enlarge the lifespan of the electronics, the appliance is equipped with a fan. If you use the
appliance intense, the fan is activated to cool down the appliance and you will hear a buzzing
sound. The fan runs on for several minutes after the hob has been switched Off.

EN 17
USE
Pans
• Always place a pan in the middle of a cooking zone.
• Induction cooking requires a particular quality of pan.
Pans that have already been used for cooking on a gas hob are no longer suitable
for use on an induction hob.
• Only use pans that are suitable for electric and induction cooking with:
▷a thick base (minimum 2.25 mm);
▷a flat base.
• The best are pans with the ‘Class Induction’ quality mark.
You can check for yourself whether your pans are suitable using a magnet. A pan is suitable
if the base of the pan is attracted by the magnet.
Suitable Unsuitable
Special stainless steel pans Earthenware
Class Induction Stainless steel
Hard-wearing enamelled pans Porcelain
Enamelled cast-iron pans Copper / Aluminium
Plastic
Be careful with enamelled sheet-steel pans! The enamel may chip (the enamel comes
loose from the steel), if you switch the hob on at a high setting when the pan is (too) dry;
the base of the pan may warp - due, for example, to overheating or to the use of too
high a power level.
Never use pans with a misshapen base. A hollow or rounded base can interfere with the
operation of the overheating protection, so that the appliance becomes too hot. This may lead to
the glass top cracking and the pan base melting. Damage arising from the use of unsuitable pans
or from boiling dry is excluded from the guarantee.

EN 18
Pressure cookers
Induction cooking is very suitable for cooking in pressure cookers. The cooking zone reacts very
quickly, and so the pressure cooker is quickly up to pressure. As soon as you switch a cooking
zone Off, the cooking process stops immediately.
Power level setting
The power can be set to 9 different levels. The hob also has a ‘boost’ setting which is indicated
by a ‘P’ on the display. The table lists some examples of use for each level.
Level Purpose
0Switched Off, using the residual heat
1 - 2 Keeping the food warm, slow cooking of smaller amounts (lowest setting)
3Slow cooking (follow-up cooking after the initial power boost)
4 - 5 Slow cooking (follow-up cooking) of large amounts, pan-roasting of larger chunks
6Searing and browning
7 - 8 Searing
9Cooking of large amounts, searing
PPower boost setting for start of the cooking process; also suitable for very large
amounts of food
Power distribution cooking zones
• Maximum hob power available is depending on the power connection of the appliance.
Consult chapter Installation ‘Setting the maximum total hob power‘.
• When the power limiter is set at <7.4 then the cooking zones influence each other.
The power is automatically distributed when these cooking zones are used at the same
time. Depending on the power connection they cannot set on a high-power level at the
same time.
▷An acoustic signal and symbol ‘r’ on the display will indicate that the total power level
has been exceeded.
Pan detection
If the hob does not detect a (ferrous) pan after the cooking power has been set, the pan
detection symbol and the selected power setting will flash alternately in the display and the hob
will remain cold. If a (ferrous) pan is not placed on the cooking zone within 1 minute, the cooking
zone will automatically switch Off (see also chapter ‘Pans’).
