一、 Live Mode
Watch live streaming videos on the NVR during Live Mode
1. Quick Setup
There are some important settings you may need to execute FIRST before
you continue with other settings.
The Wizard Setup system offers a quick and easy way to help you set up your NVR. It
should automatically start on its own if you are using the NVR for the first time.
Otherwise, you can start by clicking on the Setup Wizard icon from the Main Menu
icon list on top of the live screen.
The Wizard Setup
The Wizard Setup offers to navigate users setting up basic settings.
A.
Select the language you prefer and read through the welcoming message before clicking Start to
continue or Exit to quit this operation.

Please be sure that the connection is established within the same network

environment which allows all the online devices accessible through NVR
operations.
B.
If you are operating the NVR for the very first time, you will need to set up your administrator
password.
Confirm your NVR password
The administrator is an account that owns the highest level of permissions to configure
any setting.
The keyboard will pop up once a blank column is clicked with the mouse.
Enter the Admin ID &Password to continue to the next step. Your default Admin ID &
Password are both admin.
The system will require your confirmation of the password you have just entered.

From here on in, you will be able to establish connection with your IP cameras or you
may choose to do so later.
Click on Next to go on to the next step or Exit to stop the setting up.
Once clicked, a message window will pop up and recommend you to reset your NVR
back to default since the default password is admin.
Click to look for any online device connected in the same network as the NVR. Clicking
on the IP Address from the list will import the device information to the channel without
manually entering step.

Click Rescan to search for IP device again. It is usually for updating an operation after
disconnection or new device has been installed.
Click on Next to go on to the next step or Exit to stop the setting up.
C. Set your NVR date and time
Tick Synchronize with NTP Server, the NVR will be synchronized with the NTP Server.
After ticking the Enabling the Daylight Saving checkbox, the user can use the drop down
list to select the start time and the end time of daylight saving time. After complete the
setting, please click Save button to save the settings.
Click on Next to go on to the next step or Exit to stop setting further.

D. Set up HDD for NVR
Information of the storage device will be displayed. Tick on the checkbox with mouse to
select the HDD for file storage.
Clicking on will lead you to the S.M.A.R.T Status table where user may check
on the defection of the hard disk.
Clicking on will lead you to the page where you must be verified as the
administrator first by entering the user name and password to execute formatting the HDD.
Click on Next to go on to the next step or Exit to stop setting further.

E. Set up your Internet connection
Set up the NVR IP connection either from Static IP or DHCP mode. Enter the IP Address,
subnet mask, gateway, DNS1, and DNS2 values.
If the connected devices have not yet to be set up, the set up window of
will pop up again.
A message window of notice will pop up and inform you that the setup is complete.

2. Main Menu
The Main Menu consists of icons used for most NVR operations.
Move the mouse cursor on the icon of your choice and it will be highlighted in blue. Click on the left
mouse button to start the operation.
A. Wizard
Offers to help you set up your NVR in quick & direct navigation. Please read
the Quick Setup chapter for more details.
B. Setup
Helps to set up Network, Camera, Schedule, Event and Maintenance.
I. Network
a. Network Setup
DHCP: The NVR will get all the network parameters automatically. Tick to enable DHCP
Server setup.
Static IP:
Tick Enable PPPoE to Insert the User Name, Password which provided from local ISP, and
check the current State of PPPoE function.
Type-in the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gate Way, and key-in DNS1 and DNS2
that provided by ISP.

Tick the Enable DHCP Server
function checkbox. Once the function is activated, the NVR
can act as DHCP server which will assign or distribute one of the IP addresses according
to the setup IP address range (start and end IP Address.) to the connected IP CAM
(setup DHCP function).
Insert both the start IP and End IP Address of DHCP server in the DHCP IP address
Range. Set the Lease Time of DHCP server.
Apple
Tick Enable Bonjour
to allow Apple systems to connect to this NVR. Key-in the name of
the NVR in Bonjour column.
The web browser Safari also has a Bonjour function. Tick Include Bonjour in the
bookmark setting for the NVR to appear under the bonjour category. Click the icon to
connect to the NVR.
The Bonjour function on Safari browser doesn't support HTTPS protocol. If on the NVR
you select https, the NVR will appear on Safari's bookmarks but it cannot be accessed.
Take as a reference the following image:
UpnP
This IP camera supports UPnP, if this service is enabled on your computer, the NVR will
automatically be detected and a new icon will be added to My Network Places.

Tick its checkbox for accessing the NVR from the Internet; this option allows the NVR to
open ports on the router automatically so that video streams can be sent out from a
LAN. There are three external ports for being set: Web Port, Http Port and RTSP port.
Make sure your router supports UPnP and is activated to utilize this feature,
Note: UPnP must be enabled on your computer.
Please follow the procedure to activate UPnP:
<Approach 1>
Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu
Select Add/Remove Programs
Select Add/Remove Windows Components and open Networking Services section
Click Details and select UPnP to setup the service.
The IP device icon will be added to My Network Places.
The user may double click the IP device icon to access IE browser
<Approach 2>
Open My Network Space
Click Show icons for networked UPnP devices in the tasks column on the left of the
page.
Click Yes when Windows ask your confirmation to enable the components.
Now the IP device is displayed under the LAN. Double-click the icon to access the
camera via web browser. To disable the UPnP, click Hide icons for networked UPnP
devices in the tasks column.

b. Dynamic DNS Settings
Click the checkbox to enable or disable the DDNS function and click the drop down list
to select the DDNS server. Insert the registered Host Name, User Name, and
registered Password
in the selected provider.
Timeout: Depending on the input time of Timeout, it will update DDNS’s web site
automatically. The time range is from 5 to 5000 minutes.
State
Updating: Information update.
: The state after applied to DDNS.
Inactive: Stop service.
DDNS registered successfully, now log by
http://<username>.ddns.camddns.com: Registered successfully.
Failed: the name is already registered or the internet connection is lost.

c. IP Filter
Tick either Enable Blocked list or Enable Allow list for blocking or allowing any online
visitor with the IP addresses entered in the IP Filter list.
d. SNMP
Enable SNMPv1, SNMPv2c: write the name of both Read/Write and Read only
community
.
Enable SNMPv3: Set the Security Name, Authentication Type, Authentication
password, Encryption Type, Encryption password
of Write mode and Read mode.
Enable SNMPv1/v2c trap for detecting the Trap server. Please set what event needs to
be detected. Tick the storage device for Trap event

II. Camera
Audio and Video
Audio and Video Parameter
Click to highlight a camera title to from the ones listed above. The Audio and Video
Parameter menu will be functional. Edit the video parameters in various settings from Video,
Audio, Image, Motion, Mask, and click on Save button to keep the change.
Video
Main Profile: Chose different values to be applied to web streaming.
Video Format: The streaming format varies with different IP cameras.
Frame Rate: Click drop down list to change the frame rate of your connecting device. Click
Save after the quality rate of the camera is set. The streaming qualities of each channel are
displayed under the frame containing the setup options.
Resolution: Click the drop down list to change the resolution of the connecting device.
Bitrate: Adjust the video bitrate to avoid image breaking up or lagging by setting the
bandwidth limit.
Quality: Click the drop down list to change the image quality. For H.264 IP Cam above 1
Megapixel, the resolution options support 1M, 2M, 4M, 6M, 8M.
For H.264 IP Cams, less than 1 Megapixel, the resolution options include Best, High,
Standard, Medium, and Low. For MPEG IP Cams, the resolution options support Standard,
Medium, Low. (The highest resolution option is “standard” due to the chip performance
limits of IP Cam)

Audio
Choose Audio Format for the sound streaming type. Click Enable Microphone/Enable
Speaker, and adjust its level with each drop down list.
Image
Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation,Sharpness parameters ranges may vary
depending on the camera type.
Motion
Press drop down lists to change the sensitivity value of setup motion in 3 Areas from 1,
2, and 3. Click “Motion Area Setup”, move your mouse cursor to the live screen
thumbnail, and right-click your mouse button to drag a blue, green, or red area for
motion detection.

Mask
A masked area will be hidden in the live view and playback recording modes.
Tick the “Area1/2/3” box and click “Mask Area Setup”. Start dragging your masked
areas in blue, green or red by clicking your mouse anywhere on the screen.
III. Schedule
Recording Schedule
a. Enable Scheduled recording
Choose a camera which you would like to assign your Recording Schedule to. Ticking
on Enable scheduled recording to edit Schedule Settings.
Different colours imply the type of recording selected.
Select a type of recording from Continuous recording, Record on event, Record on
motion, Record on digital input, then draw a timeline bar with the mouse button on
the timeline from Sunday(Sun) to Saturday(Sat).
Click Always Record to fill all the timeline with the same type of recording.

Click Add/Edit Schedule to open up the Schedule Settings window. Edit the Start
Time and End Time for different types of recording, and you can also assign the
setting to any day of the week.
Select one timeline bar with your mouse, and click Delete Schedule to reset the
schedule timeline.
Select one timeline bar with your mouse, and click Copy Schedule to apply to the time
and channel of your choice on the schedule.
b. Enable audio recording
The sound received from the digital output of the camera device will also be recorded
as part of the video file.
c. Enable Automatic Overwrite
Allow video file saved from recording to be overwritten when the space of disk
storage is full. Tick the checkbox for the oldest recording data to be overwritten by
new recording data. Untick the checkbox for the NVR to stop writing data into HDD
when its space is full.

IV. Event
a. E-Mail Settings
SMTP Settings
Set the Sender Email address, Server Address, UserName, and Password, Port for an
email account to be sent to when events occur.
Contact
Fill in the contact details of the sender.
b. E-Map Settings
Setting up an E-map helps you set up cameras in a more efficient manner. You can
easily identify your camera locations in visual layout and browse your monitoring area
as a whole system of a surveillance network.
The E-map setting will be split into 2 blocks for instruction:

Adding a map
b-1.
Select the Node first to add a new
E-Map. Click on “Add” button (block 1)
and a mini window will pop up.
Select a map from the USB device
connected to the NVR and click OK to
save the map.
b-2.
The map will appear under the node category. You may install more maps
under this node. Click on the map under the node to see the full e-map image on
the right side of the screen (block 2).
b-3.
To delete, select the E-map node and click on Delete button on top.
Adding the camera
Highlight a camera of the list, then hold and drag the highlighted camera name out of
the list with your mouse. There will be a camera icon displayed, place and drop the icon
anywhere by releaseing your mouse button.

Right-click the mouse to highlight the camera icon, a small window will pop up,
choose Enter to Delete to remove the camera from E-map.
c. Event Settings
Camera Event Settings
Click on the arrow on top-right corner of the window for scrolling left & right to
select the channel which you would like to apply the settings to. Tick any checkbox
to assign the Event type, and tick the other checkboxes of Event Action so once an
event occurs, the NVR will carry out the action you have assigned for this channel.
Click Copy to choose other channels which you may apply the same settings to.
System Event Settings
Set up the type of Event Action which you would like to proceed when any of the
Event selections is triggered after its checkbox is ticked.
