4. Remove Assembly from the Door
For removal of device on door, refer to the original manufacturer's installation instructions.
5. Removing Old Latch Assembly
Note: Heat gun may be required to remove screws.
5.1 Remove Dog Button using straight jaw vise grips with
non-marring material .
5.2 Remove both Trimplate Screws using 1/8" Allen key.
5.3 Remove Trimplate and set aside.
5.4 Remove Rubber Actuator Stop – now visible after
removing the Trimplate.
5.5 Remove Latch Button Screw using a flat head screw driver.
5.6 Remove Latch Insert Screw using 5/64" Allen key.
5.7 Slide internal assembly out of tube far enough to be
able to remove old Latch Assembly from Linkage Rod End
by turning counter clockwise (May need to use vise grips).

6. Installing SL100 Latch Adaptor
6.1 Attach SL100 Latch Adaptor by threading into Linkage Rod by rotating clockwise until 3/4" of the
adaptors thread is in the Linkage Rod (For engagement depth, the thread can be marked first).
6.2 Slide Internal Assembly with SL100 Latch Adaptor into the tube.
6.3 Once Internal Assembly is far enough in the tube that
the latch insert is starting into the tube, the Latch Adaptor
Assembly must be turned 90 degrees to get passed the
internal mounting of the ball joint.
6.4 Once passed the ball joint, rotate 90 degrees back and
slide into tube until the countersunk thread hole of the
Latch Insert can be seen through the hole in the tube.
6.5 Replace the Rubber Actuator Stop (Make sure the
actuator assembly is aligned as to allow the Rubber
Actuator Stop to be replaced).
Note: Do not forget to place Latch Insert into Latch Adaptor Assembly before completely sliding Internal
Assembly into the tube.

6.9 Measure Latch Height, adjust so that height sticking out of
the tube is 3/4" (Turn clockwise to decrease Latch Height, turn
counter clockwise to increase Latch Height).
6.10 Once latch is at the proper height,
secure latch insert screw with 5/64"
Allen key, apply threadlocker.
6.11 Apply lubrication, provided with the Latch Adaptor, to both the front and back faces of the Latch.
6.6 Replace Dog Button, apply threadlocker (May
have to use non-marring vice grips to tighten).
6.7 Pull Latch out of tube until Dog Button stops it
and replace Latch Bottom Screw with flat head
screw driver, apply threadlocker.
6.8 Replace Trimplate and fasten with Trimplate
Screws using 1/8” Allen key, apply threadlocker.

7. Install Assembly on the Door
For installation of hybrid panic device back on door, refer to the original manufacturer's installation
instructions.
8. Strike Installation
8.1 Remove existing Manual Strike using 1/4" Allen key.
8.2 Attach Rockwood Strike with provided Strike Screws and 1/4" Allen key, apply threadlocker.
Note: Depending on Tube-Strike gap, Rockwood provided shims may need to be used to bring the strike down.

9.3 Align Actuator Gauge
• Install the Latch and Actuator Gauge
in the bottom of the Actuator Post
Assembly.
• If the Latch and Actuator Gauge
cannot be installed, the alignment
must be adjusted.
• Realign the Panic Device Assembly
as necessary. Install Door Bushings.
• Do not operate the Panic Device if
the Latch and Actuator Gauge does
not fit.

9.4 Adjust Bolts
Installation
• Attach the Strike to the header using the Socket Cap Screws (5/16"-18).
• Close the door. The door should come to rest on the rubber stop pads.
• There should be approximately 1/16" play between the Latch face and the Strike face.
• The retractable Latch should automatically move upward and engage in the Strike.
• If the retractable Latch does not engage in the Strike, move the door stops in.
• If the retractable Latch is loose inside the Strike (door is rattling), move the door stops out.
• Tighten 8-32 Screws to lock down adjustment door stops.
Adjustment
• To adjust the stop, loosen the 8-32 Set Screws and remove the rubber end pieces.
• Use an Allen wrench (1/4") to rotate in or out as needed.
10. Maintenance
10.1 General Maintenance Instructions
• Periodically check the fasteners. The fasteners must not be loose. If the fasteners are loose, reapply
threadlocker and tighten as necessary.
• Apply lubricant to Latch as needed.
