Failover & Failback Configuration
Series-3 Cradlepoint routers can connect to
more than one WAN. When there are more
than one WAN available the priority of the
WAN connections can be specified and the
Cradlepoint router will automatically
switch over to the next available WAN
connection –failover -when a WAN failure
is detected.
Here AW12-EI attached AW12 is highest
priority WAN and is Connected. Internal
LTE modem 1200M is alive and using ATT
SIM1, but it is Not Connected.
16
WAN at the top of the list is the highest priority.
WAN priority can be changed by grabbing the handle on the left
side of the WAN entry, then drag them up and down.

Set Failback Mode
6/24/2021 18
Select the Failback Mode from the following
options:
•Usage
•Time
•Disabled
Immediate Mode:
Failback immediately whenever higher priority
AW12 is plugged in or when there is a
priority change. Immediate failback returns you
to the use of AW12 more quickly, but it may
cause more interruptions in your network than
Usage or Time modes.
Time: Failback only after a set period of time.
(Default: 90 seconds. Range: 30-300
seconds.) This ensures that the higher priority
interface has remained online for a set period of
time before it becomes active. For example, in
case the connection is dropping in and out.
Set Modem/LTE Failback to [ Immediate ]
Max time to wait is 30sec to debounce Failback.
