GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The trGolden Eagle"; Astaticts lirnitedproduction Bicenten-
nial rnicrophone comrnernorating our nationts 200th birth-
day, will be-the rnost treasured rnicrophone in the history
of our country.
The world farnous Astatic D-104 rnicrophone, ernblazcined
withthe "Golden Eaglerr, is rnounted on a new Astatic 6 wire
transistorized desk stand for universal hook-up applications.
Both rnicrophone and desk stand are beautifully plated in 2
0K
gold to add the final touch of elegance.
Ttre Golden Eagle (T-UG9-DI04, Gold) Stand has a built-in
two-stage silicon transistor amplifier having high irnpedance
input. The output irnpedance is suitable for tihe inputs of
rnost all cornrnercial transrnitters or transceivers. The
high gain available ensures desired rnodulation capability.
The gaincanbe readily adjusted for the desired rnodulation.
The control is recessed to avoid accidental changes. The
result is an ideal base station rnicrophone for CB, Arnateur
or other comrnunication transceiver or transrnitter. The
tailored response andhigh gain ensures excellent talk-power
and intelligibility - - and full rnodulation.

'IRELAY", "ELECTRONIC", or "SPECIAL" SWITCHING CONTROL: Most types of switching
are possible by proper hookup wiring with no changes in the stand reqr.riled. The
standis factory u'iled so thatin theunoperated position the black wire is connected
to the blue wire and the yellow wire is grounded to the shield. Depressing the
actuator bar connects the red wire to the blue wire and ungrounds the yeIIou' wire.
CABLE CONNECTOR 1/IRING: WHITE to audicr inpr-rt,
SHIELD to gror-rnd, RED, BLACK, BLUE
and YELLOW to c<,:ntrol circuits.
VOLUME CONTROL: Located in the base to elirninate accidental changes should be set at
:rurrrgain - cornplete COUNTER CLOCKWISE position when viewedf rorn bottorn
rntnln
of stand. TURN 'rON" the transrnitter and squeeze the actuator bar in direction
as noted in Fig. 1. Operating the actuator bar operates the transrnit-receive-
circuits. While talking into the nricrophone at norrnal operating distance, slowly
turn the volurne control (Fig. Z) up until rnodulation is at desired level. Once
properly set, the volurne control should pof recrriva rpsoftiyrg under equivalent
conditions.
For desired sensitive touch control - rnovc slide c{amp up in short steps to de-
sired tension. For continuous or VOX operation - push slide clamp up trr tap.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT: 9 v<-rltbattery, located inside the base of stand rnay bc replaced
withlocally available Eveready 216, Burgess 2V6, Ray-O-Vac I604, or eqr.iir,'alent.
To replace the battery, rerlove the bottorn cover by
screws.
CARE OF GOLD FINISH: The 20K Gold finish on the Golden Eagle is protected by a Lacquer
Coating. Topreserve theoriginalfinish do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
Use only darnp soft cloth and wipe dry with soft cloth.
