T100 Device encryption rework SOP

•If user calls in for this issue (see last page for user scenarior), please
guide user get through page 3 to 5 to disable security boot.
•Please provide Liveupdate “functional Improvement” to user and
guide them run this tool.
•Please help ensure user’s device “Device encryption” is disabled.
•If user walk in L2. Please help guide user get through all the steps
•Besides, please help back up user’s data and update eMMC FW to 2.4.
•Run “functional Improvement” tool
•Enable device encryption.
•Please use following tool and SOP to update FW and check FW
version (SOP and TOOL will be attached)

Rework SOP
•Enter BIOS

Rework SOP
•disable security boot

Rework SOP
•Save, exit, and enter into OS

Rework SOP
•After into OS, you will see 2 different scenarios,
1. If device goes straight into OS
-> please go to page 7 and follow the steps
2. If Bitlocker windows shows up (which means encryption finished)
-> please go to page 8 and follow the steps

•please help back up user’s data (this step could be skipped if 2.4.1
released)
•Update user’s device to Sandisk FW 2.4 and run “functional
Improvement” tool
•Repeat page 3 to 5 steps to enable Security boot
•Enter OS
•Check if device encryption turn on
•On -> rework done
•Off -> please turn on device encryption for user

•2nd device needed

•Click option 2

•click Bitlocker Recovery Key

•Logoin windows ID and verification

•Get recovery key

•Input recovery key and continue

•Unlock and enter OS
•And follow steps next pages

•please help back up user’s data (this step could be skipped if 2.4.1
released)

•Enter OS
•Check if device encryption turn on
•On -> rework done
•Off -> please turn on device encryption for user

•If you see situation like attached picture which means the unit is
under decryption/encryption process. Please wait until device
decryption/encryption finished.
•Please wait until process done and you will be able change the config
again.

•Or you could use command “manage-bde.exe –status” to check the
decryption status (Administer login is required )

•If still can not enter OS after disable security boot, please follow the
steps:
•If encrypted, please ask Bitlocker recovery key from user. Unlock with
recovery key and Update FW2.4 and run factory process.
•If not encrypted, Update FW2.4 and run factory process
•Check if device encryption turn on
•On -> rework done
•Off -> please turn on device encryption for user

What user will see when this bug happens
•Hang at ASUS logo
•Hang at repairing
•Hang at recovery
•Hang at desktop (status bar blinks)
•No tile in Metro mode
