Your stylus
Use the stylus to launch an app, select an item, scribble notes, or crop images on
the touch screen panel of your ASUS Fonepad.
Function button
Press this button to activate the cropping function on your ASUS Fonepad.
Tip
The tip of your stylus is made of conductive plastic that allows you to
interact with the touch capacitive screen of your ASUS Fonepad. You
can also hover the tip of your stylus to switch between screens or scroll
documents or webpages.

Using your stylus
Your ASUS Fonepad has selected pre-installed apps and features that work better
using your stylus. You can scribble on your ASUS Fonepad with dened strokes
and crop images over any content on screen.
NOTE: Your ASUS Fonepad calls your attention if the stylus has been detached for
ve (5) minutes.
Instant Page
Instant Page app allows you to scribble notes instantly over any content on screen.
When you remove the stylus, the Instant Page icon appears on the lower left
side of the screen and hides when you reattach it to your ASUS Fonepad.
To use Instant Page, detach the stylus from your ASUS Fonepad then swipe to
the right side of the touch screen panel to launch the app.
NOTE: You can view the saved drawings in Gallery > Instant Page folder.
When you close Instant Page or reattach the stylus to your ASUS Fonepad, Instant
Page app prompts you to save or cancel your drawing.

Smart Crop
Smart Crop is a feature that conveniently crops, captures, and stores images to
your ASUS Fonepad. Use the stylus to crop image via diagonal swipe crop or free-
form crop.
NOTE: You can view the cropped images in Gallery > Crop Image folder.
Using diagonal swipe crop
To crop an image using diagonal swipe, press and hold the function button of
your stylus then tap and move the stylus diagonally. Raise your stylus to crop and
save the image to your ASUS Fonepad.
NOTE: While cropping the image, a magnied preview appears on the lower right
corner of the screen.

IMPORTANT! The screen below shows the starting and end points of the image to
be cropped. Ensure that the starting point meets the end point to crop the selected
portion.
Using free-form crop
Press and hold the function button of the stylus then tap and drag your stylus
over the portion of the image that you want to crop. Raise your stylus to crop and
save the image to your ASUS Fonepad.

Smart Peek
Smart Peek provides an instant preview of any le or folder. When you hover your
stylus over the le or folder, you can view the contents of the le or folder.
Previewing app contents on the Home screen
Hover your stylus over the app icon for about a centimeter to preview the
contents of the app.
NOTE: You can only preview the contents of Messaging and Email apps and view
your missed calls via the Phone app.

Switching screens to left/right
Hover your stylus for about a centimeter on the left or right edge of the touch
screen panel to switch the screen to left or right.
The or appears when switching the screen left or right respectively.

Scrolling up/down
Hover your stylus for about a centimeter on the top edge or bottom edge of the
page or document to scroll up or down.

Stylus settings
You can adjust the settings of your stylus and the stylus-related apps and features
on the Stylus settings screen.
To adjust the settings of your stylus, tap >
Settings
then tap Stylus to open
Stylus settings screen.
