Installation
The following steps should be completed in the following order to install the
hard disk in your Atari TT030 computer. Carefully read each step all the way
through before taking any action required by that step.
WARNING
This installation should be performed in a static free environment. Static can
cause damage to the components in this kit. Failure to perform each step
completely or skipping steps could result in damage to the hard disk or your
computer.
Mounting the Hard Disk to the Accessory Cover
The following instructions pertain to attaching the hard disk to the accessory
cover so that it can be installed in the computer.
1. Remove the hard disk from its box.
2. Depending on what kind of hard disk you are installing the power
supply connector could be hard to access once the drive is installed in
the bracket. If this is the case install the short power supply extension
cable. If the drive already has an extension cable installed do not install
the one supplied with the kit.
3. Locate the SCSI ID jumpers on the hard disk. Refer to the hard disk
product manual for their location. Make sure the SCSI ID jumper is set
or drive 0.
4. Attach the hard disk to the bracket assembly as shown in Figure 1with
the four (4) mounting screws.
5. Locate the JTard Disk LED Connector. Refer to the hard disk product
manual for its location. If the hard disk you are installing does not have
an LED connector, skip to step 7, otherwise continue with this step and
step 6. Plug the LED cable into the LED connector on the hard disk as
shown in the Seagate ST157a example in Figure 2.
6. Push the LED cable into the accessory cover so it will not get pinched
when installing the accessory cover into the computer.
