TelevisionandAudioSuggestions
Althoughtheseinvertersareshieldedandfilteredtominimizesignalinterference,someinterferencewithyour
televisionpicturemaybeunavoidable,especiallywithweaksignals.However,herearesomesuggestionsthatmay
improvereception.
1. First,makesurethattelevisionantennaproducesaclearsignalundernormaloperatingconditions(i.e.,at
homepluggedintoastandard110VACwalloutlet).Also,ensurethattheantennacableisproperlyshielded
andofgoodquality.
2. Changethepositionsoftheinverter,antennacablesandtelevisionpowercord.
3. Isolatethetelevision,itspowercordandantennacablesfromthe12‐voltpowersourcebyrunningan
extensioncordfromtheinvertertothetelevisionset.
4. Coilthetelevisionpowercordandtheinputcablesrunningfromthe12‐voltpowersourcetotheinverter.
5. Attacha"FerriteDataLineFilter"tothetelevisionpowercord.Morethanonefiltermayberequired.These
filtersareavailableatmostelectronicsupplystores.

•Inexpensivesoundsystemsmayemita"buzzing"soundwhenoperatedwiththeinverter.Thisisdueto
inadequatefiltersinthesoundsystem.Thereisnosolutiontothisproblemshortofpurchasingasound
systemwithahigherqualitypowersupply.
BlownAutomotiveFuses
Dependingonthemakeandmodelofyourautomobile,runningthepowerinverternearfullcapacityfromyour
cigarettelighterportmayresultinablownautomotivecigarettelighterfuse.Thisfusewillneedtobereplaced
withthesamesizefuse.Pleasenote,ablownautomotivefusewillnotcausedamagetoyourcarwiring.Toavoid
blowinganautomotivefuseinthissituation,donotoperatethepowerinverterover200wattsforextended
periodsoftimefromyourcigarettelighteror12voltpowerport.
BlownPowerInverterFuses
Yourpowerinverterisequippedwitha20‐ampspadetypefuse.Withreasonablecareitshouldnotbenecessary
toreplacethesefuses.Mostblownfusesaretheresultofreversepolarityorashortcircuitwithintheapplianceor
equipmentbeingoperated.Ifthefusehappenstoblow,disconnecttheapplianceorequipmentimmediately,find
thesourceoftheproblem,repairit,andtheninstallanewfuse.
SourceofPower
Mostautomobileandmarinebatterieswillprovideanamplepowersupplytotheinverterfor30to60minutes
evenwhentheengineisoff.Actualtimemayvarydependingupontheageandconditionofthebattery,andthe
powerdemandbeingplacedonitbytheequipmentbeingoperatedwiththeinverter.
Ifyoudecidetousetheinverterwhiletheengineisoff,werecommendthatyoustarttheengineeveryhourand
letitrunforapproximately10minutestorechargethebattery.Wealsorecommendthatthedevicepluggedinto
theinverterbeturnedOFFbeforestartingthevehicleengine.
Althoughitisnotnecessarytodisconnecttheinverterwhenturningovertheengine,itmaymomentarilyceaseto
operateasthebatteryvoltagedecreases.
Whentheinverterisnotsupplyingpower,itdrawsverylowamperagefromthebatteryandmaybeleftconnected
tothebatteryforuptothreehours.
However,werecommendtheinverteralwaysbedisconnectedwhennotinuse.
