•Useofanextensioncordfromtheinvertertotheapplianceorequipmentbeingoperatedwillnot
significantlydecreasethepowerbeinggeneratedbytheinverter.Forbestoperatingresults,theextension
cordshouldbenomorethan50feetlong.
TelevisionandAudioSuggestions
Althoughtheseinvertersareshieldedandfilteredtominimizesignalinterference,someinterferencewithyour
televisionpicturemaybeunavoidable,especiallywithweaksignals.However,herearesomesuggestionsthatmay
improvereception.
1. First,makesurethattelevisionantennaproducesaclearsignalundernormaloperatingconditions(i.e.,at
homepluggedintoastandard110VACwalloutlet).Also,ensurethattheantennacableisproperlyshielded
andofgoodquality.
2. Changethepositionsoftheinverter,antennacablesandtelevisionpowercord.
3. Isolatethetelevision,itspowercordandantennacablesfromthe12‐voltpowersourcebyrunningan
extensioncordfromtheinvertertothetelevisionset.
4. Coilthetelevisionpowercordandtheinputcablesrunningfromthe12‐voltpowersourcetotheinverter.
5. Attacha"FerriteDataLineFilter"tothetelevisionpowercord.Morethanonefiltermayberequired.These
filtersareavailableatmostelectronicsupplystores.

•Inexpensivesoundsystemsmayemita"buzzing"soundwhenoperatedwiththeinverter.Thisisdueto
inadequatefiltersinthesoundsystem.Thereisnosolutiontothisproblemshortofpurchasingasound
systemwithahigherqualitypowersupply.
Operating a Microwave oven with Your Power Inverter
Thepowerratingusedwithmicrowaveovensisthe"cookingpower"whichqualifiesasthepowerbeing
"delivered"tothefoodbeingmicrowaved.Theactualoperatingpowerrequirementratingishigherthanthe
cookingpowerrating.Thisisusuallyreferencedonthebackofthemicrowave.Iftheoperatingpowerrequirement
cannotbefoundonthebackofthemicrowave,checktheowner'smanualorcontactthemanufacturer.
BlownPowerInverterFuses
Yourpowerinverterisequippedwith30‐ampspadetypefuses.Withreasonablecareitshouldnotbenecessary
toreplacethesefuses.Mostblownfusesaretheresultofreversepolarityorashortcircuitwithintheapplianceor
equipmentbeingoperated.Ifthefusehappenstoblow,disconnecttheapplianceorequipmentimmediately,find
thesourceoftheproblem,repairit,andtheninstallanewfuse.

Mostautomobileandmarinebatterieswillprovideanamplepowersupplytotheinverterfor30to60minutes
evenwhentheengineisoff.Actualtimemayvarydependingupontheageandconditionofthebattery,andthe
powerdemandbeingplacedonitbytheequipmentbeingoperatedwiththeinverter.
