Review Components
Before beginning installation, take a moment
to review components that you will be using on
this house. As you review the steps for each
component, think about where components will be
placed. A little pre-planning will make things go
very smoothly when installing.

provide
data to the
controller.

9
Controller Installation
Step 1
Mount using four
screw holes.
Placement Options
Place controller in a location that
is viewable, such as a garage
or closet. It needs to be near an
electrical outlet. Wires will need to
feed to attic and outside.
Use:
4 screws
Step 2
Use all four holes.
Step 3
Plug into power outlet.
Don’t place controller within two
feet of roof rafters or in outside
location.
WARNING

10
Installation of Outside Sensor
TIP
Avoid direct constant sun if possible.
This may cause the sensor to give a
higher temperature reading.
Placement Options
Place sensor in outside
location within a few feet of
wire feed into attic or inside
location.
Use:
2 screws
Step 1
Mount using two
screws.
Step 2
Use extension cables
to extend to the
controller as described
on page 12.
Step 3
Plug jack into slot
labelled “OUTSIDE
SENSOR”.
.

11
Installation of Inside Sensor
TIP
Temperature measurements in attic can vary substantially between low and
high points. Placing sensor higher will cause fans to run more frequently in heat
reduction mode.
Placement Options:
Place sensor on a joist or beam inside attic.
Step 5
Plug jack into slot
labelled “INSIDE
SENSOR”.
Use:
2 screws
Step 1
Pull sensor from
mounting bracket.
Step 2
Mount using two
screws.
Step 3
Push sensor back
into bracket.
Step 4
Use extension
cables to extend
sensor cable to the
controller location
as described on
page 12.

12
Using Extension Cables
WARNING
All coupler connections
must be installed inside
the attic. If the jacks and
couplers are outside,
they will get wet and
corrode causing a
sensor defect.
Overview
25’ extension cables with
couplers are provided
to extend cables to the
controller. These can be used
in any combination.
Use:
Staples or fasteners to keep
cables secure.
Step 1
Find coupler at end of extension cable.
Step 3
Connect additional extension
cables as needed.
Step 4
Fasten cable to joists. Be careful
not to staple through a cable.
Step 5
Create a drop loop at each
coupler connection before
securing to joist. Tension
on jacks may cause internal
damage to cable.
Step 2
Insert end of sensor cable into
coupler.
CAUTION
It is not recommended
to exceed 75’ in one
cable run.

13
Fans & Components
ATMOX fans and accessories should be mounted in attic according to instructions supplied with each
component.
As the installer, you should already have a plan on effective placement of fans.
For questions on specific component placement, contact ATMOX for more information.
WARNING
Use of components not compatible with the ATMOX System
could cause an electrical surge and damage control box.
This would not be covered under ATMOX warranty.
Power supply in the EDGE System is limited to 150 WATTS
- If you exceed 150 watts of power, you must add power
booster supply. (Available as add-on)
- Refer to component spec sheet for power usage.

Low Voltage Overview
For all ATMOX Systems, use 14/2 gauge low voltage wire. It is very simple to use. Just remember that one side
will always be used as the positive and the other as the negative.
Purchase separately.
Usage depends on
size of space.
The smooth side will
generally have writing on it.
Banana Plugs
• Included with controller set.
Positive = Colored Plug
Negative = Black Plug
Fan Connector Wire
• Included with each fan or
accessory.
Positive = Black Side
Negative = White Side
• Two included with each fan or
accessory.
• Four included with controller
set to add two supplemental
wires if needed.
Quick Splice Connectors
TIP
Your wire may have different
grooves or writing. Either
side can be used as positive
or negative as long as you
are consistent.
Smooth Side = Positive
Grooved Side = Negative

Preparing Primary Wire
CAUTION Do not strip the wires when
cutting for separation.
Step 1
Split wire about two
inches from end.
Step 3
Remove outer coating to
expose about 3/8 inch of
internal copper.
Step 2
Pull the ends apart.
Step 4
Repeat on other side.
WARNING
Unplug controller from power source
while completing next steps.

17
Attaching Banana Plugs
Use: Step 1
Loosen screw in
banana plug.
Step 3
Tighten screw.
Step 2
For red banana plug, insert the
smooth side into bottom of plug.
Step 4
Repeat Steps 1-3 for the black
banana plug. Insert the grooved
side into bottom of plug in Step 2
.
Step 5
Plug red banana
plug into red jack on
controller.
Step 6
Plug black banana plug
into corresponding black
jack on controller.

18
Fastening Primary Wire
TIP
Add a drop loop in locations
where supplemental wire will
be added to the primary wire.
Pull primary low voltage wire from controller to the fans.
Step 1
Secure wire to joists. Be careful
not to puncture a wire.
Step 2
Create a drop loop at each
fan location. This will give
you extra wire to work
with when attaching fan
connector wire.
• If primary wire reaches
all fans, then proceed to
connecting fans.
• If more wire is needed,
proceed to next page to add
supplemental wires.

19
Preparing Supplemental Wires
CAUTION Do not cut across the primary wire.
Do not strip the wires when cutting for separation.
Use:
Step 1
On primary wire, select location
where supplemental wire will
be attached. Split wire.
Step 3
Cut end on supplemental wire to
make sure it is smooth and even.
Step 2
Pull apart the two sides to make
a loop of about three inches
.
Step 4
Cut middle of supplemental wire.
Split about two inches from end.
Step 5
Pull the ends apart.

20
Attaching Supplemental Wires
Step 1
Find the positive side of the
primary wire (smooth side) in the
loop. Push the wire into the quick
splice connector.
Step 2
Take the end of the positive side of
the supplemental wire (smooth side).
Insert the end of the wire into the
connector until it hits the plastic stop.
Step 3
Use pliers on metal splice to make a
connection with both wires.
Step 4
Push the cover of the quick
splice connector down to close.
Step 5
Repeat Steps 1-4 with the
negative side of the primary and
supplemental wire (grooved side).
Step 6
When finished, both
sides of wires will be
connected to each other.
Once attached,
pull supplemental
wire to remaining
fans. Secure
wire and create
drop loops in
same manner as
primary wire.
