2. Safety Instructions
1. Please read all instructions before operating the unit.
2. Keep these instructions for future reference.
3. Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Pay attention to all warnings. Do not remove any safety instruction or other infor-
mation from the unit.
5. Use the unit only in the intended way.
6. Take note of applicable safety regulations.
7. CAUTION! Do not use this unit near water or moisture. Take care that no liquid pen-
etrates into the unit.
8. The installation must be carried out only with accessories recommended by
AUDEMO SYSTEMS®. All options could only be assembled ex works in terms of
warranty.
9. CAUTION! Do not open or modify the unit.
10. Opening of the security protected united for servicing, repair and so on is only al-
lowed by the service department of AUDEMO SYSTEMS®. Interventions to the unit
and breaking the seals will invalidate the warranty agreement!
11. Opening of the unit deactivates all functions! For a reactivating in factory a fee will be
charged!
12. CAUTION! Always take care about all connections and cables after installation to
avoid damages and accidents with e.g. trip hazards.
13. CAUTION! In any case of acute malfunction of the unit, damage or impact of objects
or fluids, switch off the unit immediately and disconnect mains and emergency power
supply. The unit as well as the system could only be repaired or changed by the spe-
cialized company, the contracted maintenance company or the manufacturer.
14. Clean the surface of the unit with a soft cotton cloth.
15. Pay attention to actual waste disposal laws and regulations.

Please Note:
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock of dangerous voltage
within the units enclosure
Within the units enclosure there are uninsulated parts
with height electric tension. Do not remove the cover.
There are no user serviceable parts inside.

Possible Hearing Damage
The system produces a volume level which could dam-
age your hearing continuously or temporarily while
listening to long to headphone or loudspeaker sound
sources.
Do not reproduce high volume levels for a long time.
Reduce the level immediately if any noise in ear or
hearing loss occurs. Note: The level of the alert an-
nouncement may not be changed!
CAUTION!
Operating Conditions
The unit is intended for indoor use. To
prevent damage do not use this unit near
liquids and moisture. Avoid direct sunlight,
heavy dirt or strong vibration.

3. Technical Features
According to DIN EN 60849 the PADES®2000 Digital-Fire-Brigade-Selective-Remote-
Microphone-Unit DAM-2570 A is a monitored fire-brigade-remote-microphone with the possi-
bility of room- and group-calls using up to ten programmable memory keys. The remote-
microphone-unit allows the connection and operation with a digital PADES®2000-system. The
remote-microphone is attached in red, solid steel panel housing with an integrated, replaceable
inspection glass. The housing could be locked with a standard half-cylinder format lock. The
lock is interchangeable in order to meet requirements of the local fire brigade. The integrated
Digital-Fire-Brigade-Handheld-Microphone DAM-2540 A features a push-to-talk button, helix
cable and a high effective magnetic holder. The remote microphone is normative completely
monitored, on one hand the signal path including the microphone cartridge on the other the
push-to-talk button and the connection cable.
The standard design requires a Digital-Fire-Brigade-Microphone-Connection-Board DAM-
2542 A to enable passive monitoring by PADES®2000-system.
As an option you can use Digital-Fire-Brigade-Microphone-Signal-Connection-Board DAM-
2541 A with a digital interface for normative monitoring and in addition
Digital audio-bus control for noiseless synchronisation.
Integrated noiseless microphone pre-amplifier.
Integrated dynamic-processor to improve speech-quality in case of alarm with compen-
sation of volume-variation and suppression of over-modulation.
Integrated noise-gate to open the signal-path not before the user begin to speak.
Integrated hidden attached volume control.
Integrated hidden attached active 3-band tone control.
Optional A.F.-output-transformer DAM-2580 A for balanced, galvanic separated con-
nection to active signal path in PADES® 2000-system with highest noise immunity and to
eliminate hum and static noise even on a long transmission path.
Digital-Fire-Brigade-Microphone-Selective-Call-Board DAM-2545 A (optional) offers fur-
thermore as a digital interface:
Ten programmable memory keys for room- and group-call.
Illuminated and custom-labelled keys for precise assignment.
Note: The actual application, functionality and programming is adapted to building conditions
and equipped individually on consumer’s request.

4. Operation
Emergency announcement with a fire brigade remote microphone DAM-2570 A:
Attention: Emergency announcement must only be executed by authorized per-
sons e.g. police, fire fighter or rescue forces. The emergency announcement is a
live-announcement with highest priority. Even the automatic alert announcement
caused by fire detection will be interrupted!
Remove the handheld microphone DAM-2540 from its holder.
Select with the ten memory keys the group-zones.
Push the lateral push-to-talk button and keep it pressed.
Start to talk then slowly and clearly. Keep a 2 to 3 cm distance to the microphone.
In order to quit the announcement, release the push-to-talk button.
Put the microphone to its magnetic holder to fix it in its housing again.
Attention: The red, solid steel panel housing is locked with a standard half-
cylinder format lock (fire brigade lock) according to DIN 18252 to prevent any mis-
use.
