DoorsLock -Optional
Door locking during passive arming is a selectable feature. The alarm
can be programmed to allow the doors to lock only when arming using
thekeychain transmitter,and theywillnot automaticallylock duringpas-
sivearming.

PROTECTION WHILE THE SYSTEM IS ARMED
Opening any protected door, hood, or trunk lid will cause the alarm to immediately
sound. The alarm will continue to sound for 30 seconds, then stop and continue to
monitor all protected entry points. If the thief left a door opened, the alarm will sound
for six 30 second cycles, remain armed and ignore that triggered zone.
Whenever the system is armed, the red dash mounted L.E.D. indicator will slowly
flash. This serves as a visual deterrent to the potential thief. The L.E.D. is a very low
current bulb, and will not cause the vehicle’s battery to drain, even when left unat-
tended for extended periods.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle’s parking lights will flash for the full 30
second alarm cycle, attracting visual attention to the vehicle.
Optional - Whenever the system is triggered, the interior courtesy lights will flash for
the full 30 second alarm cycle.
Whenever the system is armed, the vehicle’s starting circuit will be bypassed. If the
thief should choose to ignore the siren, the vehicle can not be started.
Any strong impact to the vehicle’s glass will cause the alarm to trigger for the full 30
second alarm cycle.
Any mild impact to the vehicle's glass will cause the alarm to sound a short series of
warning tones.
DISARMING THE SYSTEM
1.As you approachthe vehicle, pressand releasethe ARM /DISARM buttonon the keychain
transmitter.
Red dash mounted L.E.D. turns off.
If passive arming was selected during the installation, then the L.E.D.
will start flashing rapidly, indicating that the system is re arming auto-
matically. Open any door to suspend the automatic arming.
Parking Lights flash two times.
If the parking lights flashed three times, then the alarm was triggered in
your absence. Before turning the key on, examine the L.E.D. to identify
which zone was triggered.
Siren sounds two chirps.
If the siren sounds 4 chirps, then the alarm was triggered in your ab-
sence. Before turning the key on, examine the L.E.D. and refer to the
INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS section of this manual to identify
which zone was triggered.
If the siren did not sound when disarming, then the chirps have been
turned off, and you should refer to the section titled “ ELIMINATING
THE ARM / DISARM CHIRPS “ in this manual.

Interior courtesy lights turn on for 30 seconds, or until the ignition key is
switched on.

SILENT DISARMING
1. As you approach the vehicle, press and hold the ARM / DISARM button on the keychain
transmitter for 2 seconds.
Red dash mounted L.E.D. turns off.
If passive arming was selected during the installation, then the L.E.D.
will start flashing rapidly, indicating that the system is re arming auto-
matically. Open any door to suspend the automatic arming.

If the parking lights flashed three times, then the alarm was triggered in

INTRUSION WARNING SIGNALS
Thissystem will informyou ifanintrusion attempthas occurred whileyou wereaway from the
vehicle. If an intrusion attempt has occurred, the siren will chirp 4 times and the parking lights
will flash 3 times when disarming the system. Enter the vehicle, and observe the red dash
mountedL.E.D. toidentify whichzone wastriggered.
If the L.E.D. is flashing one time...pause...one time...pause...etc., then an intrusion
attempt was made to the shock sensor, or an accessory triggering device that may
havebeen addedtothe system.
Ifthe L.E.D.is flashingtwo times...pause...twotimes...pause...etc., thenanintrusion
attemptwas madeto ahoodor trunkpin switchthat wasaddedto thesystem, orto a
lightactivated entrypointif thealarmwasinstalledusing thevoltagesensing feature.
Ifthe L.E.D.is flashingthree times...pause...threetimes...pause...etc., thenan intru-
sionattempt wasmade throughone ofthe vehicle’sdoors.
Theseintrusion warningindicatorsare storedin thesystem’smemory, andwill only beerased
whenthe ignitionkey isturned on.

VALET / SYSTEM OVERRIDE SWITCH
The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all alarm functions, eliminating the need to
handyour transmitterto parkingattendantsor garagemechanics. Whenthe systemis invalet
mode, all alarm functions are bypassed, however the remote panic feature and remote door
lockswill remainoperational.To usethe valetmode;
1.Enter thevehicle, andturn theignition keyto theon position.
2.Move thevalet toggleswitch tothe onposition. ThedashmountedL.E.D.will turn
onsolid, andremain on aslong asthe systemis invalet mode.
3. To return to normal operation, move the valet switch back to the off position any
timethe ignitionis on.
In the event that you lose your keychain transmitter, or if the transmitter fails to disarm the
system,thevalet switchcanbeused todisarmthe alarm.Openthevehicle’sdoor (thealarmwill
sound ). Turn the ignition key on, and move the valet switch to the on position. The alarm will
disarm,and thevehicle cannow bestarted.
NOTE :Alwaysrememberto movethevaletswitchback tothe offposition.Thiswill ensurethat
thevehicle remainsprotected atalltimes.
ELIMINATING THE NORMALARM / DISARM CHIRPS
Asexplained earlierin themanual,you caneliminate thechirps selectivelyanytime youarm or
disarmthe systemsimply byholding theARM /DISARM buttonfor twoseconds. Ifyoufindthe
normalarming anddisarming chirpsannoying, theycan beturned offpermanently, eliminating
theneedto hold theARM/ DISARMbutton for twoseconds.Todothis,
1.Startwiththe valetswitch inthe offposition, thenturn the ignitionkey onthen off.
2.Within 10seconds, movethe valet switchto onthen offthreetimes.
3.If thechirps were onbefore youstarted, thenyou willhear 2 chirpsindicating
theyhave beenturnedoff.
Ifthe chirpswere offbefore youstarted,then youwill hearone chirpindicating they
havebeenturned on.
NOTE : Wheneverthe chirpsare by- passed,the 4chirp intrusionindicator and3 chirp defec-
tivezoneindicator willalways operate.Sincetheseare importantwarningstoyou thatsomething
hashappened, theycannotbe eliminated.

REMOTE PANIC OPERATION
The ARM / DISARM button on your keychain transmitter also functions as a panic switch for
usein emergencysituations. To useremote panic,
1. Press and hold the ARM / DISARM button on the keychain transmitter for 3 or
moreseconds. Thealarm willimmediatelysound.
2. To stop the alarm, press and hold the ARM / DISARM button on the transmitter
againfor 3seconds. Ifthebuttonisnot pressed,the alarmwill automaticallystop
after30 seconds.
NOTE : Allnormal transmitterfunctions operatein thepanicmode.

désactivée. Dans ce cas, consulter la section du manuel intitulée

PROTECTION PENDANT QUE LE SYSTÈME EST ARMÉ
L’ouverture de toute porte ou de tout capot protégés déclenche l’alarme sonore
immédiatement. L’alarme retentit pendant 30 secondes, puis s’arrête et continue à
surveillertous lesaccèsprotégés. Sile voleurlaisse uneporte ouverte, l’alarmeretentit
pendant 6 cycles de 30 secondes, reste armée et ignore la zone ayant motivé le
déclenchement.
Chaquefoisque lesystèmeest armé,laDEL rougedutableaude bordclignotelentement.
Cet avertissement visuel a pour but de décourager le voleur potentiel. La DEL est une
lampeà très faiblecourant qui nerisque pas d’épuiserla batterie duvéhicule, même si
ellereste allumée pendantde longuesdurées.
Chaquefois que lesystème estdéclenché, lesfeux de positiondu véhiculese mettentà
clignoter pendant la durée totale de 30 secondes du cycle d’alarme, afin d’attirer les
regardssurle véhicule.
Enoption —Chaque foisque lesystème estdéclenché,les lampesd’intérieur clignotent
pendantla durée totalede 30 secondesdu cycle d’alarme.
Chaque fois que le système est armé, le circuit de démarrage du véhicule est mis en
dérivation. Même si le voleur choisit d’ignorer la sirène, le véhicule nepeut être mis en
route.
Tout choc importantsur unevitre duvéhicule déclenche lecycle complet del’alarme qui
retentit pendant 30 secondes.
Tout choc modéré sur une vitre du véhicule déclenche l'alarme qui émit une coutre
série de tonalités d'avertissement.
DÉSARMEMENT DU SYSTÈME
1. Lorsque vous approchez du véhicule, il faut appuyer sur le bouton ARMEMENT /
DÉSARMEMENT du transmetteur de porte-clé et le relâcher.
La DEL rouge du tableau de bord s’éteint.
Si l’on a choisi l’armement passif de l’alarme au cours de l’installation,
la DEL se met à clignoter rapidement, indiquant que le système se
réarme automatiquement. L’ouverture d’une porte interrompt le
réarmement automatique.
Les feux de position clignotent deux fois.
Si les feux de position clignotent trois fois, c’est que l’alarme a été
déclenchée en votre absence. Avant de tourner la clé de contact,
examiner la DEL pour identifier la zone où le déclenchement a eu
lieu.
La sirène fait retentir deux tonalités.
Si la sirène émet quatre tonalités, c’est que l’alarme a été déclenchée
en votre absence. Avant de tourner la clé de contact, examiner la
DEL pour identifier la zone où le déclenchement a eu lieu après avoir
consulté la section du manuel intitulée SIGNAUX
D’AVERTISSEMENT EN CAS D’EFFRACTION.
Si la sirène ne fait retentir aucun son au désarmement, c’est parce
que la fonction tonalités d’avertissement a été désactivée. Dans ce
cas, consulter la section du manuel intitulée “ÉLIMINATION DES
TONALITÉS D’ARMEMENT / DÉSARMEMENT”.
Les portes se déverrouillent — En option.
Lampes d’intérieur — En option.
Les lampes d’intérieur s’allument pendant 30 secondes ou jusqu’à
ce que l’on tourne la clé de contact sur marche.
