ARMINGTHESYSTEM- PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
Ifthepassive arming featurehasbeen selected:
1.Turn the engine off,exitthe vehicle, andcloseall doors, hoodandtrunk.
The dash mounted LED will begin to flash rapidly indicating that the 30 second passive
armingtimerhasbegun.IftheLEDdoesnotbegin to flash rapidly,thenyouhaveleftadoor,
hood,ortrunkajar.Closingthisentrypointwillallowthearmingcyclewillbegin. Ifanyentry
pointisopenedduring the30secondarmingcycle,arming willbesuspended.Whenallentry
pointsareclosed, the arming cycle willbeginagain.
Attheendofthe30seconds,theparkinglightswillflashonce,thesirenwillchirponce,and
thedashmountedLEDwillbegintoflash slowly confirmingthesystemisarmed. Ifthesiren
didnot sound whenarming, then thechirps have been turned off. Refer to the section on
"EliminatingtheArm/Disarm Chirps" shownlaterin this manual. Passivedoorlocking is a
selectablefeature. Ifyouhavetheoptionaldoorlock/unlockcircuitinstalled,thedoorsmay
ormaynotlockpassivelydependinguponthe setup during installation.
PROTECTIONWHILETHESYSTEMISARMED:
Opening any protected entry point, hood, trunk, or doors will cause the alarm to trigger
immediately. The siren will sound and the parking lights willflashfor30seconds,thenstop
andcontinueto monitor all protected entrypoints. Ifthe thief left the dooropened,the unit
willsoundforsix30secondcyclesthenshutdown,isolatethetriggeredzoneandcontinue
toprotect all other zones.
Wheneverthe system is armed,thedash mounted LEDwillslowly flash. This servesas a
visualdeterrenttoa potential thief. This LED isaverylow current light emitting diode,and
willnot cause thebattery to draineven if leftunattended for longperiods of time.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle's parking lights will flash for the full siren
soundingperiod. Optional-wheneverthesystemistriggered,theinteriorcourtesylightwill
flashfor the fullsiren sounding period.
Wheneverthesystemisarmed,thevehicle starter circuitisdisabled,andthevehiclewillnot
startwith the ignition key.
Whenever the system is armed, any strong impact to the vehicle will cause the shock
detectortotriggerthealarm. Anylesserimpactwillcausethepre-detectstageoftheshock
sensor to emit a few short series of warning tones from the siren.
DISARMINGTHESYSTEM
Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheDisarmbuttononthekeychaintransmitter.
Theparkinglightswillflashtwotimes,thesirenwillchirptwice,andthedashmountedLED
will turn off.
Ifyouhave the optional doorlock/unlockcircuitinstalled, the doors willunlock.If you have
theoptionalentryilluminationcircuitinstalled,theinteriorlightwillturnonfor30secondsor
untiltheignition key is switchedon.
NOTE: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,the dashmountedLED
willstartflashingrapidlyindicatingthat thesystemisrearming. Openinganydoorwill
suspendtheautomaticarming.
Iftheparkinglightsflashedthree times,andthesirenchirpsfourtimes,this indicatesthatthe
alarm system was triggered during your absence. Before turning on the ignition key,
examinethe dash mounted LED'sflashpattern. The number of flashesidentifies the trig-
geredzone. Foradditionalinformation,refertoINTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALSfoundlater
inthismanual.
Ifthe siren didnot sound upondisarm, then thechirps have beenturned off. Refer tothe
sectiontitledELIMINATINGTHEARM/DISARMCHIRPS.
