Your Remote Start AlarmSystemhas many features andavailableoptionssome of which
are selected at time of installation. For your reference, the list on page 9 of this manual
shows what features and options have been installed. Consult your installing dealer for
optionsthatmayhavebeeninstalledand are not listed.
YOUR“CODEHOPPING“TRANSMITTERS:
Thetransmittersincluded with yournewremote start system use themostadvanced and
secureform of radiofrequency transmission available on any current automotive remote
system.Someoftoday’ssophisticatedautothievesuseadeviceknownasacode grabber,
whichwillreceive and store thesignalfrom your keychain transmitter, and re-transmitata
latertimetodisarmyoursystem.
Your code hopping transmitters will change their signal every time the button is pressed, so
whena thief grabsthen re-transmits yoursignal, the alarmsystem
willnot respond.
If your transmitter button is pressed more than fifty times while it is out of range of the
vehicle(childrenplayingwithyourkeys),thetransmitterwillnot operate when you return to
thevehicle,andwillneedtobere-aligned tothereceiver. To do this, simply press the Lock/
Unlockbutton two times withina one second timeperiod. The system willnow respond to
thattransmittereachtime a button is pressed.
ARMINGTHESYSTEM -ACTIVE:
1.Turn the engine off,exitthe vehicle, andcloseall doors, hood andtrunk.
2.Pressand release the Arm buttonofyour key chain transmitter onetime.
Theparkinglights will flash once,thesiren will chirp once,andthe dash mounted LEDwill
begin to flash slowly confirming the system is armed. If you have the optional door lock/
unlockcircuitinstalled, the doors willlock.
NOTE: Ifthe siren/horn sounds 3chirps, then you have lefta door,trunk, or hoodlid ajar.
Simplyclose the openedentry point toprovide full protection. Ifthe siren "chirped"
threetimes,sometimeafterarming,theexclusive delayed dome lightlearncircuithas
beenprogrammedandthesystemdetected aopenentrypointafterthelearneddelay
expired. Again,closingthehood,trunk, or doors will correct theproblemandyoudo
notneedtodisarmthesystemtomakethecorrection. Ifthesiren/horndidnotsound
when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and you should refer to the
sectiontitled"ELIMINATINGTHEARM/DISARMCHIRPS"inthismanual.
SILENTARMING-ACTIVE:
1.Turn the engine off,exitthe vehicle, andcloseall doors, hood andtrunk.
2.Press and hold the Arm button of yourkey chain transmitterfor two seconds.
The parking lights will flash once, and the dash mounted LED will begin to flash slowly
confirmingthesystem is armed. The sirenwillnot chirp. If you havetheoptional door lock/
unlockcircuitinstalled, the doors willlock.
NOTE: If the siren/horn sounds 3 chirps, then you have left a door, trunk, or hood lid ajar.
Simplyclose the opened entrypoint to provide fullprotection. If the siren "chirped"
threetimes,sometimeafterarming, theexclusivedelayeddomelightlearncircuithas
beenprogrammedandthe systemdetectedaopenentrypointafterthelearneddelay
expired. Again,closingthehood,trunk,ordoorswillcorrecttheproblemandyoudo
notneedtodisarmthesystemtomakethecorrection. Ifthe siren/horn did notsound
when arming, then the chirps have been turned off and you should refer to the
sectiontitled"ELIMINATINGTHEARM/DISARMCHIRPS"inthismanual.

ARMINGTHESYSTEM- PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
Ifthepassive arming featurehasbeen selected:
1.Turn the engine off,exitthe vehicle, andcloseall doors, hoodandtrunk.
The dash mounted LED will begin to flash rapidly indicating that the 30 second passive
armingtimerhasbegun.IftheLEDdoesnotbegin to flash rapidly,thenyouhaveleftadoor,
hood,ortrunkajar.Closingthisentrypointwillallowthearmingcyclewillbegin. Ifanyentry
pointisopenedduring the30secondarmingcycle,arming willbesuspended.Whenallentry
pointsareclosed, the arming cycle willbeginagain.
Attheendofthe30seconds,theparkinglightswillflashonce,thesirenwillchirponce,and
thedashmountedLEDwillbegintoflash slowly confirmingthesystemisarmed. Ifthesiren
didnot sound whenarming, then thechirps have been turned off. Refer to the section on
"EliminatingtheArm/Disarm Chirps" shownlaterin this manual. Passivedoorlocking is a
selectablefeature. Ifyouhavetheoptionaldoorlock/unlockcircuitinstalled,thedoorsmay
ormaynotlockpassivelydependinguponthe setup during installation.
PROTECTIONWHILETHESYSTEMISARMED:
Opening any protected entry point, hood, trunk, or doors will cause the alarm to trigger
immediately. The siren will sound and the parking lights willflashfor30seconds,thenstop
andcontinueto monitor all protected entrypoints. Ifthe thief left the dooropened,the unit
willsoundforsix30secondcyclesthenshutdown,isolatethetriggeredzoneandcontinue
toprotect all other zones.
Wheneverthe system is armed,thedash mounted LEDwillslowly flash. This servesas a
visualdeterrenttoa potential thief. This LED isaverylow current light emitting diode,and
willnot cause thebattery to draineven if leftunattended for longperiods of time.
Whenever the system is triggered, the vehicle's parking lights will flash for the full siren
soundingperiod. Optional-wheneverthesystemistriggered,theinteriorcourtesylightwill
flashfor the fullsiren sounding period.
Wheneverthesystemisarmed,thevehicle starter circuitisdisabled,andthevehiclewillnot
startwith the ignition key.
Whenever the system is armed, any strong impact to the vehicle will cause the shock
detectortotriggerthealarm. Anylesserimpactwillcausethepre-detectstageoftheshock
sensor to emit a few short series of warning tones from the siren.
DISARMINGTHESYSTEM
Asyouapproachthevehicle,pressandreleasetheDisarmbuttononthekeychaintransmitter.
Theparkinglightswillflashtwotimes,thesirenwillchirptwice,andthedashmountedLED
will turn off.
Ifyouhave the optional doorlock/unlockcircuitinstalled, the doors willunlock.If you have
theoptionalentryilluminationcircuitinstalled,theinteriorlightwillturnonfor30secondsor
untiltheignition key is switchedon.
NOTE: Ifthepassivearmingmodewasselectedattimeofinstallation,the dashmountedLED
willstartflashingrapidlyindicatingthat thesystemisrearming. Openinganydoorwill
suspendtheautomaticarming.
Iftheparkinglightsflashedthree times,andthesirenchirpsfourtimes,this indicatesthatthe
alarm system was triggered during your absence. Before turning on the ignition key,
examinethe dash mounted LED'sflashpattern. The number of flashesidentifies the trig-
geredzone. Foradditionalinformation,refertoINTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALSfoundlater
inthismanual.
Ifthe siren didnot sound upondisarm, then thechirps have beenturned off. Refer tothe
sectiontitledELIMINATINGTHEARM/DISARMCHIRPS.

NOTE: Iftheoptional2step door unlockcircuitisinstalled,whentheunlocktransmitter button
is activated, the drivers door only will unlock, pressing the unlock button a second
time will cause all doors to unlock. If your transmitter has a sperate lock unlock
buttons,pressingtheunlockbuttonanytimeafterthefirstunlock command will cause
allthevehicledoors to unlock.
SILENTDISARMING
1. As you approach the vehicle, press and hold the disarm button of your key chain
transmitter for two seconds.
Theparkinglightswillflashtwice,andthedashmountedLEDwillturnoffconfirming that the
systemisdisarmed.Thesirenwillnotchirp. If you have the optional door lock/unlockcircuit
installed,thedoorswillunlock.Ifyouhavetheoptionalentryilluminationcircuitinstalled,the
interiorlight will turnon for 30seconds or untilthe ignition keyis switched on.
NOTE: Ifthepassivearming modewasselectedattimeof installation,thedashmountedLED
willstartflashingrapidlyindicatingthatthesystemisrearming. Opening any door will
suspendtheautomaticarming.
Iftheparkinglightsflashedthreetimes,andthe siren chirps fourtimes,thisindicatesthatthe
alarmsystemhadbeentriggeredinyourabsence.Beforeturningontheignitionkey,examine
thedashmountedLED'sflash pattern. The number of flashesidentifiesthetriggeredzone.
Foradditionalinformation,refertoINTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNALSfoundlaterinthismanual.

WHILETHESYSTEMISSOUNDING
If during a triggered state, you wish to shut off the siren without disarming your security
system,simplypressand release any transmitter buttonotherthanthedisarm button. This
actionwill turn offthe siren yetleave the vehicle fully armed and protected.This feature is
particularlyusefulifyouareaware of children playing near your vehicle thatmayaccidently
triggeryour security system.In this caseyou can cancel thesiren sounding.
INTRUSIONWARNINGSIGNAL
This systemwillinform you ifanintrusion attempt has occurredwhileyou were away from
thevehicle. Upondisarm,thesirenwillchirp4timesandtheparkinglightswillflash3times.
Enterthevehicle and before turningonthe ignition switch, observetheLEDflash pattern.
If the LED flashes one time...pause, one time...pause etc., then an intrusion attempt was
madebyimpactora strong vibration that the shocksensordetected. Checkthevehiclefor
possibledamagetothe glass or body panels.
IftheLED flashes two times...pause,twotimes...pauseetc., then an intrusionattemptwas
madeto open the hood,trunk,or by anaccessorytriggering device. Check thevehiclefor
indicationsof forced entryto these openings.
Ifthe LED flashesthree times...pause, threetimes...pause etc., then an intrusion attempt
wasmade tothe vehicle doors. Check all doorsfor indications of forced entry.
NOTE: TheLEDintrusionwarningindicationsarestoredinthesystem'smemoryandwillbe
erasedwhen the ignition switch isturned on.
VALETSWITCH:
Thevaletswitchallowsyoutotemporarilybypass all alarm functions,eliminatingtheneedto
hand your transmitter to parking attendants or garage mechanics. When the system is in
valetmode,allalarmfunctionsarebypassed,howevertheremotepanic feature and remote
doorlockswillremainoperational.Tousethevaletmode,the system must first be disarmed

eitherbyusingyourkeychaintransmitter,or byactivatingyourpersonalizedmanualoverride
code.
1. Enterthevehicle,andturn the ignition key to the onposition.
2. Pressand hold the valetpushbutton switch untilthe dash mounted LEDturns on solid.
Thesystemwillremaininthevaletmode.
3. To return to normal operation, press and release the pushbutton switch any time the
ignitionison.
NOTE: Alwaysremembertoreturn the vehicle tothevaletoffposition. This will ensure that
thevehicleremainsprotectedatalltimes.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
USINGTHEVALETSWITCHMANUALOVERRIDE
Your Security Systemcanbe disarmed withouttheuse of thekeychain transmitter.This is
necessary,sinceyou will need theability to operate yourvehicle if the transmitteris lost or
its battery fails. If your system has been selected for Valet Switch manual override as
indicatedonthe last page of thismanual,toby-pass the alarm system;
1. Openthevehicle door. Thealarm will sound.
2. Turntheignitionkeyto the on position.
3. Within5 seconds, pressand release thevalet pushbutton switch.
Thealarm system willstop sounding andenter the (by-passed) mode. Youcan now start
andoperatethevehiclenormally.
Typically this overridemodeisusedonlyif the transmitter has become inoperative.
Programming Your Custom Override Code:
Unlikeoverride switcheseasily found, and defeated, this security systemallows the con-
sumer to program a personal override code, offering a higher level of security. To take
advantageofthisoption,programmablefeature#10mustbeselectedfor the Custom Code
Option. Consultyourinstallationcenterforprogrammingdetails.Thesystem comes fromthe
factorywith a pre-programmedoverride code of11.To change thisdefault override code,
dothe following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.Turntheignitionswitchto the on position.
2. Within10seconds, press andrelease the valet/override switch,3 times.
3. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesiren or hornwillbeep and thelights will flash onetime.)
4. Within10seconds,begintoenteryourchosen10thsdigitbypressingandreleasingthe
pushbuttonswitch from 1upto9 times.
5. Within10 seconds of thelast entered 10thsdigit, turn theignition switch offthen on.
6. Within10seconds,begin to enter your chosenunitsdigitbypressing and releasing the
pushbuttonswitch from 1up to 9times.
7. Finishbyturning the ignitionswitchto the offposition.
Ifthenew code was accepted,theunit will report backthenewly entered code, byflashing
theLED,firstindicatingthe10thsdigit,pauseandthentheunitsdigit.Theunitwillreportthe
new code three times with a one second pause between each code, then the system will
beginarming.IftheLEDflashpatternreportsthepreviouslystoredcode,thenewcodewas
notentered correctly. Please repeatsteps 1 through 7above considering the following.
NOTE: Acceptabledigits10thsorunitsare1 through 9.Theunitwillnotrecognizea0(Zero),
ornodigit entered inanyplace, units or tenths.

NOTE: If15 seconds of inactivity expire,or if the ignition switch is turnedoff for more then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
Custom Code Programming Example:
To Change the code from the factory pre-assigned code of 11 to “52” you would do the
following:
1. Disarm the system by use of the transmitter, or by use of the emergency override
sequence.
2. Turntheignition switch to theonposition.
3. Within10seconds, press andrelease the valet/override switch,3 times.
4. Within 10 seconds turn the ignition switch off, on, off, on, off, on.
(Thesiren or hornwillbeep and thelights will flash onetime.)
5. Within10seconds, begin to pressand release the pushbuttonswitch to set thetenths
digit.(As per the example,press and release 5timesto set thetenthsdigit to 5)
6. Within10 seconds ofthelastpressofthepushbutton,turntheignitionswitchoffthenon.
7. Within10seconds,begintopressandreleasethepushbuttonswitch tosettheunitsdigit.
(Asper the example, pressand release 2times to set theunits digit to2).
8. Turntheignition switch to the offposition. ImmediatelyobservetheLED flash pattern.
You will note the LED flashing five times, pause, and then flash two times, pause. This
patternwill berepeated three times indicating the new code(52) has been accepted and
storedinmemory.
NOTE: If after step 7, the LED flashes a code other than what was just entered, this
indicates that the code has not been changed. You will have to repeat steps 1
through7above being certaintonote the following:
Acceptabledigits10thsorunitsare1through9. The unit will not recognize a 0 (Zero), orno
digitenteredin any place, unitsortenths.
NOTE: If 15 seconds of inactivity expire, or if the ignition switch is turned off for more then
5 seconds during any of the above steps, the unit will revert back to the last
successfully stored code.
MANUALLYOVERRIDINGYOURSYSTEM:
USINGTHECUSTOMCODEOVERRIDE
Assumingtheoverride code programmed hasnotbeen changed, and thedefaultoverride
codeof 11 is in thesystem'smemory.
1) Enterthevehicleand turn the ignitionswitchtothe on position.
NOTE:Thesirenwillsound.
2) Within5seconds, press and releasethe pushbutton switch 1time.
3) Within5seconds, turn theignition switch offthen on.
4) Within5seconds, press and releasethe pushbutton switch 1time.
5) Turntheignition switch offthen on andstart the vehicle.
NOTE: Ifyou have changed theprogrammedoverride code then substituteyour new code
tenths for step 2 above, and units for step 5 above.
ELIMINATINGTHENORMAL ARM/DISARM CHIRPS
Youcanselectivelyeliminatethenormalarm&disarmchirps byholdingthetransmitterbutton
slightlylonger when arming or disarming. This will preventthe siren chirpsfor one arm or
disarmcycle. Ifyou find this inconvenientandwish to eliminate thesechirpspermanently,
1. Start with the valet switch in the 'off" position.
2.Turn the ignitionswitch 'on" then'off".
3.Within 10 secondsof turning off theignition, move thevalet switch 'on", "off',"on", "off",
"on", "off".

4.If the chirpswere on before you started, the siren willemit 2 shortchirps indicating that
the chirps are now off. If the chirps were off before you started, the siren will emit one
shortchirp indicating thatthe chirps arenow on.
NOTE: If the vehicle battery is disconnected then reconnected, the unit will return to the
defaultsettingofchirpson. Repeattheaboveprocedureto eliminate the arm/disarm
chirps.
REMOTEPANICOPERATION
TheLockorUnlockbuttononyourkeychaintransmitteralso functions as a panic switch for
useinemergencysituations.Touseremote panic,
1. Press and hold the Lock or Unlock button on the keychain transmitter for 3 or more
seconds.Thealarmwillimmediatelysound.
2.Tostopthealarm,pressandholdtheLockorUnlockbuttononthetransmitteragainfor3
seconds. Ifthebuttonisnotpressed,thealarmwillautomaticallystopafter30seconds.
Also if any transmitter button other than the Lock or Unlock button is pressed and
released, the Panic mode will be turned off immediately. The normal function of this
transmitterbuttonwillbesuspendedduringthePanicsoundingperiod.
NOTE: WhileinthePanicmode,pressingandreleasingtheLock,ortheUnlockbuttonswill,
if the option is installed, lock and unlock the doors respectively. While in the panic
mode,anytime the unlock button ispressed, the panicfeature will continue for the
allotted 30 seconds, however, the security system will be disarmed allowing the
vehicleto start.
SAFETY(RedHandled)CONTROL SWITCH
The control switch allows you to temporarily disable the remote starting function of your
system.Todisable the unit, movethe red handled controlswitch to the offposition.
The control switch also allows you to select between 2 hour start up and 4 hour start up
whenusingtheautomaticstartuptimermode.Thefactorypresetstart up time for this mode
is every 4 hours. To select between 2 or 4 hour start up timer:
1.Begin with thecontrol switch inthe on position
2.Turn the ignition switch onthen off
3. Within10 seconds, move the controlswitch off, on,off, on (2 switch cycles)to select a
2hourstart timer. After10seconds expire, the parkinglightswillflashand the siren will
chirp2timesconfirming that the two hourstartcycleisset. Or,within10seconds move
thecontrol switch off, on,off, on, off, on,off, on (4 switchcycles)to select a4hour start
timer.The parking lightswill flash andthe siren willchirp four timesconfirming that the
fourhour start timer is set.
REMOTESTARTINGTHEVEHICLE
TheunitWILL NOT startthevehicle if any oneofthe following conditions exists:
1.TheVehicleHoodIsOpened.
2.TheGearSelectorIsInAnyGearOtherThenPark.
3.TheBrakeIsDepressed.
4.TheSafetyControl Switch Is In TheOffPosition.
CAUTION! Becertain that the vehicleis outdoors before usingthis or any remotevehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproducesdangerouscarbonmonoxidefumes
whichcanbe harmful or fatalifprolongedexposure occurs. DO NOT remote
startthe vehicle ifit is garaged.
To Remote Start The Vehicle:
Press and release the trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.Thevehiclewill start and remain running forthepre-programmed5,10, 15, or 20

minutes. As a visual indication, the parking lights will flash or turn on depending on the
programmingsetupbyyourinstallationcenter.
When you arrive at your vehicle, disarm the alarm system by pressing and releasing the
Disarmbuttonofyourkeychaintransmitter. Enter the vehicle and turn the ignition key to the
onposition.
CAUTION! Do not turn the key to the start position. This will cause the starter motor to
engagewiththealreadyrunningenginewhichcouldresultindamage. Stepon
thebrakepedalto disengage the remote start unit.Thevehiclewillcontinue to
run but now on it's own power.
NOTE: Theenginewillstoprunningbeforetheexpirationofthepre-programmedruntimerif
youcomplete any ofthefollowing:
1. Press and release trunk/key button of your keychain transmitter two times within 2
seconds.
2.Depressthebrakepedal.
3.Openthehood.
4.Move the redhandled control switchto the offposition.
5.Racetheenginetoabove4000 RPM.
OPERATINGONAUTOMATICSTARTUPTIMERMODE
Thesystemhastheabilitytoautomaticallystart the vehicleevery2or4hoursovera48hour
period.This feature is especiallyuseful in coldclimateswhere the onlymeans to keep the
engineandengine fluids warm is toperiodicallystart the engine.
CAUTION! Be certainthat the vehicle isoutdoors before usingthis or any remotevehicle
startingdevice. Arunningengineproduces dangerouscarbonmonoxidefumes
whichcan be harmfulor fatal ifprolonged exposure occurs. DONOT remote
startthe vehicle ifit is garaged.
TOBEGIN THEAUTOMATIC STARTUPTIMER
1. Turnthe ignition key onthen off.
2. Within10seconds,activatetheRFstartcommandtwotimes.(Pushthetrunk/keybutton
ofyourkeychain transmitter 4 times).
Theparkinglightswillflashandthesirenwill chirp 4 times indicating the timed start modeis
activated.
The vehicle, on a 2 or 4 hour interval basis, will automatically start, run for the pre-pro-
grammedtime(5,10,15 or 20 minutes),andthen shut off. Thiswillcontinuefor 48 hours.
NOTE: Theautomaticstartuptimercanalsobeinitiatedfromthekeychaintransmitter.
Todothis:
1. Startthevehicle using the keychaintransmitterby pressing and releasingthetrunk/key
button2times.
2. Shut off the vehicle using the keychain transmitter by pressing and releasing the
trunk/keybutton2times.
3. Within 10 seconds of step 2, activate the RF start command two times. (Push the
trunk/keybuttonofyour keychain transmitter 4 times).
Theparkinglightswillflashandthesirenwill chirp 4 times indicating the timed start modeis
activated.
CANCELINGTHEAUTOMATICSTART UPTIMER
Tocancel the automatic startuptimer do one ofthefollowing:
1.Startthe vehicle manually withtheuse of the ignitionkeyand depress the brakepedal.
2.RemotestartthevehicleusingyourkeychainRFtransmitter.

Tooperatetheaccessory associatedwithchannel3,pressandholdthe trunk/key button(s)
of your keychain transmitter for four seconds.
NOTE: The feature that has been added to channel 3 will always be operated using the
sametransmitterbutton that controls the remotestartunit.There is no way tomove
thechannel 3 function toa different channel.
