the motor vehicle at any point forward of the back of the driver’s seat,
or that is visible, directly or indirectly, to the driver while operating the
vehicle. In the interest of safety, the EX50 should never be installed
whereitwillbevisible,directlyorindirectly,bytheoperatorofthemotor
vehicle.
Warnings
•Donotuseany solvents or cleaningmaterialswhencleaning the
videoMonitor.
•Do not use any abrasive cleaners, they may scratch the screen.
Use only a lightly dampened lint free cloth to wipe the screen if it
is dirty.
•Before putting on headphones always adjust the volume setting
to the lowest position.
•Do not put pressure on the screen.
•Caution children to avoid touching or scratching the screen, as it
may become dirty or damaged.

A.Introduction
Thank you for selecting the EX50, 5.0 inch Liquid Crystal Display
(LCD) Monitor. It can be used as an additional monitor or used just to
replace a lost or damaged monitor. The EX50 utilizes state of the art
electronics and is designed for easy portability and is constructed to
provide years of reliable, trouble-free service.
Please read this manual entirely prior to operation. This manual will
assist you in installing the EX50 properly to obtain the best system
performance.
B. Cautions
1.Use only the adapter supplied with this Monitor. When the system
is left unattended and unused for long periods for a long periods of
time,unplugitfromthepowersource. Alwaysdisconnectthewhen
power source first and then the jack from the system.
2.Ensure that the Monitor is installed in accordance with the instruc-
tions and illustrations provided in this manual.
3.To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to
rain,moistureorlongperiodsofdirectsunlight. Keeptheunitaway
from sources of heat. Do not operate or store the unit close to
strongmagneticfields. Do not spill orspray liquid of anykind on or
in the system (this may result in a fire or electric shock).
4.To ensure proper ventilation, never cover or block the slots and
openings with a cloth or other material.
5.To reduce the risk of electric shock do not remove the back cover
of the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Contact
qualified service personnel if your system is in need of repair.
6.When cleaning, make sure the system is unplugged from power
source.

D. Positioning the Monitor
Option 1 Vehicle Headrest (Refer to Figure 1)

SlidetheMonitorintothepouch,feedthebottom pieceoftheMonitor
into the long slot at the bottom of the pouch and attach the Velcro
strap to fasten the Monitor in the pouch. Then loop the strap of the
poucharoundtheheadrestinthevehicleandpulltheendofthestrap
while holding the buckle until the pouch is tightly secured.
Option 2 Flat Surface (Refer to Figure 2)

Rotate the base of Monitor backward and place it on a flat surface.
Adjust the screen for a proper viewing angle. This can be done with
the Monitor inside or outside the pouch.

Option 1 Indoor Power (Refer to Figure 4)

UsingtheAC/DCadaptersuppliedwiththeEX50,plug the connector
endintotheDC9VINjackonthesideoftheMonitor. PlugtheAC/DC
adapter into a 110V AC power receptable. This can be done with the
Monitor inside or outside the pouch.

Option 2 Vehicle Power (Refer to Figure 5)

Using theDCPower adaptersupplied,plugtheconnectorendintothe
DC9VIN jack on thesideof the Monitor. PlugtheDC Power adapter
into a vehicle power outlet.
G. Operation (Refer to Figure 3 & Figure 6)
1. Switch the POWER ON/OFF to On and turn the Monitor on. The
POWER LED will light.
2. Using the 1/8 to RCA A/V adapter cable connect the signal output
from an auxiliary source such as camcorder,Video Game, DVD
Player,Video Cassette Player etc. to the AV IN Jack of the
EX50.
3. Use the BRIGHTNESS UP/DOWN control to adjust the picture to
a desired setting.
4. Use the VOLUME UP/DOWN control to decrease or increase
volume level.

H. Using Headphones (Refer to Figure 6)
Optional wired headphones may be used with the EX50. Simply plug
in the headset to either Headphone 1Jack* or Headphone 2 Jack on
the right side of the monitor.
*NOTE: Using Headphone Jack 1 will disconnect the internal speak-
ers.
