Construction

Australian Monitor provides a multi-point
maximum protection network for both the K-SERIES
amplifier and loudspeaker system. The eight point
network consists of :- Mains circuit breaker,
lndependent rear panel t power rail fuses, lnput
muting at turn on, Short circuit protection with LED
indication, lnput over voltage protection, R.F
Interference suppression, Thermal overload protection
with LED indication, Mains inrush current suppression
and LED indication. All K-SERIES circuit designs, layout,
grounding, decoupling. and componentry have been
optimised to provide stability, reliability and of course
longevity, no built in obsolescence from Australian
Monitor.

Power Plant
A massive toroidal ma ins transformer forms the
heart ofthe K-SERlE5 amplifiers, exhibiting excellent
load regulation, high energy, high current-capability,
linear power supply. The associated electrolytic power
capacitors are high ripple, high temperature (105'),
low E.5.R, mil spec rated. Minimised interconnection
and heavy ga uge wiring maximise power transfer to
any current dependant load, for extended periods
u nder very heavy duty cycles. Elevated driver stage
supplies are utilised to ensure total drive
to the gates of the latest generation

Cooling
System
Each channel of a K-
SERIES amplif ier is ind ivid ua lly
cooled by a dualspeed axialfan.

the guidelines and technical performance
specifications for amplif ier desig n, quality and
durability. Lucasfilm / THX specify and approve all
amplifiers used in THX cinema theatre sound systems
a round the world .f he fully approved Austra lian
Monitor K88rx CINEMA amplifier exceeds in all aspects
the guideline specifications required by THX.

K-SERIES products meet or exceed the stringent
technical safety standards, laid down by the
independent Scandinavian testing and certification
a uthority NEMKO.
Fresh cool air drawn from the front {l
vents is passed through the heat ${
exchange tunnel and exhausted from
the rear of the unit. Each heat exchange
module has a total perimeter of 1.5M (59")
with directly cooled surface area of 450,000
mm'?(700"'z) The direct and clear path through
the tunnel minimises dust and particle deposits.
A louvred grill at the entrance eliminates the entry
of larger objects and reduces the presence of
precipitation.
