XT- 9 0 S : This transmitter uses one (1) 3-voltlithiumionbattery(#CR2032)
that is placed with the (+) side facing upward. To replace the battery, you will
need to use a small flat blade screwdriver and a small Philips screwdriver.
Remove the small Philips head screw. Then locate the small notch on the
lowerrightsideofthetransmittercasenexttothekeyring. Usingtheflatblade
screwdriver, carefully pry the top case from the bottom case. It should snap
apart afterbreaking the seal. Before removing the battery note the direction of
the positive (+) terminal. Place the new battery in exactly the same manner,
being careful not to bend or damage the contact terminal. Snap the cases
back together andthentest thetransmitter to insure it arms and disarms the
alarm.ReinstallthePhilipsscrewtofinalizethebatteryreplacement.

WARNINGS:
As with any product that performs automatic functions, there are certain safety
precautionsthatyoumustpracticeandbeawareof.
1. Keep the transmitter out of children’s reach.
2. Do not leave anyone in the vehicle while running on remote control.
3. Alert servicing personnel that the vehi cle can be started automatically.
4. Do not start the vehicle by remote while it’s in an enclosed area or garage.
5. Always apply the parking brake and lock the vehicle as you exit the vehicle.
6. The vehicle windows must be rolled up.
7. Should the unit malfunction, disconnect the fuse until the problem is
corrected.
8. The use and operations of this system is the sole responsibility of the
operator.
9. Some areas may have local ordinances that prohibit leaving a vehicle
runningonpublicstreets.
10.Itisnotsafetoremotestartthevehicleifthevehicleisparkedonasteep
incline.

indicating that the system is now active. The vehicle doors will lock upon
activating when interfaced with the keyless entry system.
ACTIVE UNLOCK:
1 . P r e s s button on the transmitter.
2 . T h e h o r n w i l l c h i r p t w i c e a n d p a r k i n g l i g h t w i l l f l a s h t w i c e t o i n d i c a t i n g
that the keyless system is now unlocked. The vehicle doors will unlock
and d ome l igh ts wi l l tur n on fo r 3 0 sec ond s .
PATHWAY ILLUMINATION:
This feature turns the parking light “ON” for 30 seconds upon an unlock
signal and for 10 seconds upon the lock signal. (Programmable)
TWO STEPS DOOR UNLOCK: (programmable) (optional)
T h i s f e a t u r e w i l l i n d e p e n d e n t l y u n l o c k t h e d r i v e r ’ s d o o r o n l y w h e n
disarming the security system. Pushing the button a second time
within 3 seconds will unlock the other doors.
DEACTIVATING WITHOUT A TRANSMITTER:
The Override function may be used if the remote transmitter is lost or
inoperative.

VALET MODE:
The valet switch allows you to temporarily bypass all system function,
eliminatingtheneedtohandyourtransmittertoparkingattendantsor
garage mechanics. When the system is in valet mode, and remote
start functions are bypassed,EnterValetMode:
1 . F r o m t h e U n l o c k c o n d i t i o n , t u r n t h e i g n i t i o n t o “ O N ” p o s i t i o n .
2 . P u s h a n d h o l d v a l e t s w i t c h f o r 2 s e c o n d s u n t i l t h e L E D t u r n s o n . T h e
LED will remain on as long as the system is in ‘valet mode’.
Exit Valet Mode:
1 . R e t u r n t o n o r m a l o p e r a t i o n , t u r n i g n i t i o n ‘ o n ’ .
2. Push and hold valet switch for 2 seconds, The LED will turn off
indicating the system has exited the valet mode.

CAR LOCATOR
Under armed mode, press the
button to activate the car locator
function. The horn, if installed
will chirp 6 times. The parking light will
flash12times,foryoutoeasilylocateyourcar.
PANIC FUNCTION:
Thetransmittercanbeusedasaremotepanicswitchtomanuallytriggerthe
alarmincaseofanemergency.
1.Pressandholdthe buttonfor3 second.Thehornifinstalledwill
immediately sound.
2.Duringpanicmode,thenormalfunctionofthistransmitterbuttonwill
be disabled. The transmitter and buttonscanbeusedtolock
andunlockthedoor(iftheoptionisinstalled),howeveroncethe
b ut t o n i s pr es se d, t h e v e hi cl e’ s st a r t e r d is ab le d e v i c e , (w he re
installed)willbedisengagedallowingthevehicletostart.
3 . Tostopthealarm,pressandholdthetransmitter or buttonon the
transmitteragainfor3seconds or press or to stop immediately.
If the button is not pressed, the alarm will automatically stop after 30
seconds.
TRUNK RELEASE (CHANNEL 3) OUTPUT.
Pressandhold buttononthetransmitterfor threesecondstoremotely
releasethetrunkorotherelectricdevices.
IGNITION CONTROL DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK.
If the vehicles power door locks have been interfaced to the unit, the
system will automatically lock the vehicle's doors in 3 seconds when the
ignition is turned “ON” and /or unlock the vehicle’s doors when the
ignition is turned “OFF”. (Programmable)

Pressingthetransmitter and button at the same time will activate
theChannel4function.Channel4isuser-programmabletimeroutput.You
mayprogramthebuilt-intimertosendagroundsignalforanytimeduration
from1secondto120seconds.Forinstance,thistimeroutputmaybeused
to turn on the headlight, power window or sunroof. (Factory defaults setting
at momentary output.)
CHANNEL 5 TIMER CONTROL OUTPUT

the Channel 5 function. Channel 5 is user-
programmable timer output. You
may program thebuilt-intimertosendagroundsig
nal for any time duration
from1secondto120seconds.Forinstance,thistimeroutputmaybeusedto

CHANNEL 6 TIMER CONTROL OUTPUT

the Channel 6 function. Channel 6 is user-

in timer to send a ground signal for any time duration

SECOND VEHICLE SECURITY OPERATION:
Your 5-button remote transmitter can be utilized to control a second vehicle
security system, To program the remote control transmitter to a second
vehicle,followtheinstructionsforTransmitterprogramming.

OPTIONAL TWO WAY UPGRADE:
This system can be easily upgraded by purchasing a compatible two
way remote control for this system. Two way communication will allow
you to have access to vehicle information and condition as well as
confirmation of all sent commands.

TO R E M OTE START THE VEHICL E:
When you want to start your vehicle,
1. Press button once on the transmitter.
2. The parking lights will activate to indicate the remote start received
the signal.
3. The engine will start in approximately 5 seconds.
4. Once the engine is running and after couple seconds the parking
lights will turn on again and climate controls will activate and adjust the
vehicles interior temperature to your preset setting. (While the vehicle is
running, the “minutes” digit on the LCD screen will flash and will indicate
a count down timer based on the 5, 10, 20 or 30 minute run time set up
by yourinstallationcenter.)
5. The vehicle will run for 5 to 30 minute cycle and automatically shut
down. (When the unit shuts off the count down timer will turn off and the
transmitter will play a melody sound.)
NOT E: The Remote Start Unit will not start the vehicle if any one of the
following conditions exists:
1 . T h e h o o d i s o p e n e d .
2. The brake pedal is pressed.
3. The remote start enable toggle switch is in the OFF position. (If
installed)
4. The gear selector is in any gear other then “PARK” or “NEUTRAL”
SAFE START (Child safety mode)(programmable)
The factory default setting to start the vehicle is to press the button
ONCE on the transmitter. Programming this feature to eliminate an
accidental remote start operation,
1. The user must press the transmitter button twice within 3
seconds to start the vehicle. or
2. The user must press the transmitter and buttons at the same
time to start the vehicle.
TO O P ERATE THE VEHICLE WHILE RU N NING ON THE REMOTE
START:
To operate the vehicle while the engine is running on the remote start:
1 . I n s e r t t h e i g n i t i o n k e y a n d t u r n i t t o “ O N ” ( n o t t h e s t a r t ) p o s i t i o n .
2 . P r e s s t h e b r a k e p e d a l .
Note: If the brake pedal is pressed before the key is in the ON position,
the engine will shut down.

This feature allows the vehicle to remain running after the key has been
removed from the ignition. This feature is useful for occasions when you
wish to exit and lock the vehicle for short periods of time, but would like
to leave the motor running and the climate control on.
1 . B e f o r e t u r n i n g o f f t h e e n g i n e , p r e s s t h e button on the transmitter
and the LED indicator will flash 3 times to confirm entry.
2 . T u r n t h e i g n i t i o n k e y t o O F F p o s i t i o n . ( T h e e n g i n e w i l l s t a y r u n n i n g . )
3 . T h e e n g i n e w i l l r u n u n t i l t h e p r e - p r o g r a m m e d t i m e h a s e l a p s e d o r
shutdown input is received. If the brake pedal is depressed the engine
willstop.
T U R B O C H A R G E M O D E : (programmable)
Turbo charge mode keeps the engine running after arriving at your
destination for a programmable period of 1, 3 or 5 minutes. This allows
the vehicle’s engine time to conveniently cool down the turbo after you
have left the vehicle. To activate:
1. While the engine is running, pull up the hand brake and place the
transmission gear in the park position.
2. Before turn ing off the engine, pres s and release and buttons at
thesame time.
-- The LED will flash indicating the remote start has entered the turbo
charge mode.
3. Take the “Ignition Key” from the key cylinder.
-- Engine keeps running. --
4. Exit and secure the vehicle.
-- Engine continues running until the pre-programmed time has
elapsed. --
NOTE: This feature only applies to vehicles with Turbo Engines.
TO TURN OFF THE REMOTE START:
When the engine is running (by remote start), if you want to stop it,
1.Press
button once on the remote transmitter while in the remote
start mode.
2.Press the brake pedal.
The vehicle will shut down and turn off the
parking lights will indicate engine has stopped

installed)

If any of the following conditions exist while the system is operating, the
engine will not start or will shut down immediately:
1.Thehoodisopened.
2.Thebrakepedalispressed.
3.Engineisover-revved.{“Tachometercheckingtype”only}
4.Thepre-programmedruntime(5/10/20/30minutes)haselapsed.
5.Press buttononceontheremotetransmitterunderremotestart
mode.
6.TheoptionalremotestartenabletoggleswitchisintheOFFposition.(If
installed)
7.Thevehiclerefusedtostartrunningafter{3}unsuccessfulattempts.
DISABLING THE REMOTE START SYSTEM:
(Toggle switch If installed)
This feature allows your system’s remote start unit to be temporarily
disabled to prevent the vehicle from being remote started accidentally.
This feature is useful if the vehicle is being serviced or stored in an
enclosed area. To disable the remote start, move the optional remote
start enable toggle switch to the OFF position.
