4.0 CONNECTING THE HARDWARE
Please study the drawings below and become familiar with the inputs, outputs
and control locations on the AVT-5641.
AVT-5641 Front Panel
The front panel of the AVT-5641 contains the product’s control switches. The
operation of the switches and meaning of the LED indications will be explained
below.
AVT-5641 Rear Panel

7
On the rear of the AVT-5641 you’ll find the Power connector, Video in
connectors, Stereo Audio connectors, Video out Connectors and Stereo out
connectors. The four video and audio inputs are labeled and arranged in logical
order. On the extreme left is the output grouping and the power input connector.
5.0 OPERATING THE AVT-5641
Using high quality video cables you know to be good, connect either an S-Video
signal or a Composite Video signal to each of the four inputs.
Connect only one type of signal to an individual input (e.g. connect either an S-
Video or Composite Video signal to an input but not both).
Next, connect the Stereo Audio inputs to each input. Again, use only high quality,
known good cables.
Lastly, connect the provided AC Adapter; first to the AVT-5641 and then to the
AC power source.
5.1 Default Operation
When the power is first connected to the AVT-5641, the unit will default to input
Number One (1) and the LED above the “1” label will light.
If you have not connected a signal to input number 1, no output will be present.
5.2 Manual Operation
Pressing the SELECT button on the front panel causes the unit to step through
each of the four available inputs, lighting their associated LED in turn. (Note that
there is no intervention by the AVT-5641 to determine if the selected signal is
valid. Whether a valid signal is present or not, the unit will route the selected
input to the output even if there is no signal present or the selected signal is
noisy. The same is true for the Audio signals).
5.3 Remote Operation
Operation via the included remote control is
exactly like the operation accomplished via the
front panel. To use the remote, first pull the
shipping tab present on the remote control unit so
that the battery is connected. Then, pointing the
remote at the AVT-5641 and press the
appropriate input selector button to cause the unit
to change inputs.

8
6.0 Troubleshooting
First, check that power is present and then check for faulty cables. Make sure the
AVT-5641 is connected to a known good monitor and the desired inputs are
present. If some input images are acceptable but others are not, you should
suspect faulty cables. Swap the cables to determine if the problem moves with
the cable(s). If the manual signal selection works but the remote selection does
not, check that the shipping tab has been pulled on the remote control and, if it
has, change the battery.
After trying the above suggestions should the problem still persist, contact your
dealer for additional suggestions before contacting AV Toolbox’s parent
company, TV One. Please contact TV One via our support website:
http://tvone.crmdesk.com. Create a technical support request on the site and
our support team will respond within a short period of time.
