Thehandheldmetaldetectorhasapowerswitchwiththreepositions(seecallout10on
Image2.1.andTable2.1.a).ThecenterpositionwillturnOFFthepowertothedevice.TheUP
position(towardsthefrontofthewand)willturnthedeviceon,andwillenableonlythe
vibration.TheDOWNposition(towardsthebottomofthewand)willturnthedeviceon,andwill
enableonlythesoundalarm.
Whenthedeviceison,thegreenLEDwillturnonandwillblink(callout8),andwillstay
on(blink)untildeviceisturnedoff.
IfthepowerLEDdoesnotturngreen,orthereisacontinuoussoundorvibration,the
batteryisdepletedandneedstobereplaced.Replaceorrechargethebatteryandthentryagain.
Youcanalsocheckthelowbatteryindicator(seecallout2).IftheLEDisyellow,replacethe
battery.
2.3.Detectionandsensitivityscanning
Oncethepoweristurnedon,andthedeviceissettovibrationoraudioalarm,usethe
detectionareaofthemetaldetector(callout1).Ifmetalisdetected,thewandwillvibrateor
makeasound.
Therearealsotwovisualindicators:aredLED(callout3)andasignalstrengthindicator
(callout6).Thesewillautomaticallyturnononcemetalisdetected.
TheHighsensitivitycanbeusedindaytodayoperations.Inspecialcases,theLow
sensitivitycanbeused.Usethesensitivitybutton(callout9)toreducethewandsensitivityina
ratioof1:5(sensitivitywillbereducedfivetimes).Thisisrecommendedwhentheareaofinterest
issurroundedmymetalobjectsthatcouldtriggeranalarm.
2.4.Poweringandchargingthedevice
Thehandheldmetaldetectorhasthreewaysofoperation:battery,rechargeablebattery
andpoweredoperation.Nobatteriesaresuppliedwiththeunit.Theunitoperateswith9V(orE)
sizebatteries.
Beforebatteryinstallation,observethebatterypolarity.Thebatterysocketismarked
withPositive(+)andNegative(‐)symbols.
Whenusedwithnon‐rechargeablebatteries,donotconnecttheunittothe120Vac
[220Vac]charger.Thiscancauseafireorexplosion.
Whenusedwithrechargeablebatteries,theyellowLED(seecallout2)willindicatewhen
batteryisrunninglow.Connecttheunittothechargerusingthepowerjack(seecallout4).
Rechargingtimedependsontheselectedbatterycapacity.
Whenusedcontinuously,connectchargertotheunit.
