Step 1
Plug the supplied ethernet cable into the home router (A).
Step 2
Plug the other end of the ethernet cable into the
GATEWAY ULTRA module (B).
Step 3
Plug the supplied power cord into the GATEWAY ULTRA module (C).
Step 4
Plug the other end of the supplied power cord into wall power (D).

INSTALLATION ON SPA

Although the GATEWAY ULTRA module can be mounted anywhere in the
spa and function properly, for best possible reception and range, the
GATEWAY ULTRA module should be mounted in the spa as high up in the
spa as is reasonable.

Water Group (BWG)
Ways to tell if the spa controller
is from Balboa Water Group
The Control System Serial Number has “Balboa” on it
The Control System PCBA has “Balboa” on it

NOTE: If your spa does not have a Control System made by
Balboa Water Group (BWG), then ControlMySpa cannot be used.

Step 3: Ensure The Spa Controller is a BP Series Spa Control System
Ways to Tell if the Spa Controller is a BP Series Spa Control System:
PC Board
C.
The Control System PC Board
has Four Pin Molex Female
Connectors. Only BP Control
Systems from Balboa Water
Group have these connectors on
the PC Board, and all BP Systems
must have them.
The Control System Serial
Number has a “BP” in the model
number. Note: Not all BP Se-
rial Numbers have “BP” in the
model number, but many do.

STEP 4
Using a Screw Driver, Remove the Enclosure Cover from the BP
Control System in your Spa
Connect low voltage cable from Gateway to BP Spa Controller
Connect the low voltage RS485 cable to the spa data bus. The
4-pin connector connects to any available panel port, or to a

connect in the correct plug orientation.

• CMS™ Code is an 8 digit letter/number combination that all Spa owners must have to use spas
equipped with the ControlMySpa™ system
• Spa owners will need this CMS™ code to setup and connect their spas in the ControlMySpa™
database.
• The CMS™ code connects your spa to your OEM and Dealer for service and support
EXAMPLE CMS™ Code: ABC-12345

12345 = 5 number code unique to each spa Dealer or Distributor
Note:
If you do not have a CMS™ Code, contact You Spa Dealer or the Company that sold you the Gateway
for Retrofit on your existing spa.
