ACCESS200 installation guide
Here’s a quick overview of the steps to install an ACCESS200 reader. More detailed
instructions are available online –just follow the links or QR codes below.
1. Install readers
Mounting guidelines:
•Fix the base part to a single gang box or directly to the mounting surface.
Use 3 mm diameter countersunk head screws. Heads must not stand out more than
1 mm from the base surface.
•When using stranded wires, make sure there are no wires outside the cages of the
pluggable cage clamp.
•To avoid rain interference, make sure outdoor keypad readers are mounted upright or
at a protected spot. Otherwise, ensure they’re wiped off if malfunctioning.

2. Set bus address
When using a bus protocol (e.g. OSDP), set a bus address for each reader: Place a BALTECH
AdrCard in front of the reader and wait for the signal indicating the desired address.
Note: If the readers are already configured, make sure the reader housing (i.e. the tamper
switch) is open when setting the bus address.

3. OPTIONAL: Test reader functionality
By default, the readers will now read any card’s UID (serial number) and transmit it to the
host system. You can make use of this behavior to check if the readers are up and running:
Use a test card and configure the host system temporarily to accept this card’s UID.
4. Deploy configuration
If you have a BEC file, deploy it via USB using our Windows tool BALTECH Uploader. If you
have a BALTECH ConfigCard, present it to the reader and wait for yellow and green signals.

5. Test configuration
Use a test project card to test the configured readers. Make sure the host system is now
configured for live operations. If something doesn't work, get back to your project
manager to troubleshoot the configuration.
