CARATTERISTICHE TECNICHE
Gli addolcitori BAV devono essere impiegati per il trattamento di acqua destinata al consumo uma-
no ed avente caratteristiche chimico-fisiche previste dalle normative vigenti in materia di trattamento
dell’acqua.
L’acqua trattata dall’addolcitore subisce la riduzione dei sali responsabili della durezza dell’acqua
(in modo proporzionale rispetto alla regolazione della vite del miscelatore della durezza), e di un leggero
aumento di ioni di sodio per via della funzione delle resine cationiche a scambio ionico utiizzate per il
trattamento dell’acqua.
Gli addolcitori automatici della famiglia BAV sono dotati di testata elettronica che prevede un siste-
ma di rigenerazione delle resine a volume, il software presente nel microprocessore delle nostre testate
elettroniche volumetriche abilita l’avvio delle attività di rigenerazione delle resine solo quando necessario,
ovvero solo quando un determinato volume d’acqua è passato attraverso le resine, a differenza delle
valvole di controllo cronometriche, le quali rigenerano le resine ad intervalli fissi impostati dall’utilizzatore
o dall’installatore, quindi senza tenere presenti i reali consumi giornalieri di acqua.
A fronte di bassi consumi, la valvola di controllo lavorerà in modalità combinata volumetrica\cro-
nometrica lanciando una rigenerazione forzata, secondo quanto impostato dal costruttore o dall’utente
finale, dato quest’ultimo riprogrammabile.

COLLEGAMENTI ED INSTALLAZIONE
L’installazione deve avvenire nel rispetto delle normative vigenti nel Paese in cui viene effettuata, da personale
professionalmente qualificato ed abilitato.
L’errata installazione può causare danni all’ambiente, persone ,animali e cose, per i quali il costruttore declina
ogni responsabilità.
Il tubo di scarico dato in dotazione dovrà essere collegato stabilmente all’apposito portagomma (v. figura sopra),
verificando che il tubo sia di tipo flessibile, di idonea sezione e che non vi siano strozzature lungo la sua estensione;
inoltre il tubo di scarico dovrà essere “ancorato” stabilmente alla conduttura di scarico, per evitare possibili fuoriusci-
te del tubo stesso con rischio di versamento di acqua nel locale.
Il tubo di scarico NON deve essere immerso in pozzetti dove vi sia acqua stagnante poiché ciò potrebbe provo-
care un riflusso dell’acqua verso l’apparecchio.
La distanza dell’apparecchio dallo scarico deve essere non superiore a 4 metri.
L’eccessivo calore ambientale od il gelo possono danneggiare gravemente l’addolcitore e per questo và posizio-
nato in ambienti con temperature non inferiori a 5 gradi centigradi e non superiori a 35 gradi centigradi.
In caso di periodi di lunga inattività dell’impianto di addolcimento è necessario, al momento del ripristi-
no dell’operatività, lanciare una rigenerazione manuale per risciacquare le resine contenute nella bombola
dell’addolcitore.

AVVIAMENTO
Terminata l’installazione, si dovrà procedere con il primo avviamento dell’impianto di addolcimento.
1) Versare acqua nel tino: per il modello BAV5=2,5 Lt di acqua, per il BAV8=4 Lt. di acqua, per il
BAV10=5 Lt. di acqua, per il BAV12=6 Lt.di acqua, per il BAV18=10 Lt.di acqua.
Successivamente, questa operazione verrà eseguita automaticamente dall’addolcitore al termine di
ogni rigenerazione delle resine.
2) Versare il sale nel tino, raccomandiamo il sale per addolcimento in PASTIGLIE, fino e non oltre i 3\4
della capienza del contenitore (vedere etichettatura MIN e MAX riportata sul tino).
3) Aprire lentamente il rubinetto che alimenta l’addolcitore e successivamente aprire un rubinetto di
utenza a valle dell’addolcitore al fine di permettere di liberare le condutture dall’aria e per effettuare
una sorta di risciacquo delle resine, 3-5 minuti saranno sufficienti.
4) Eseguire un controllo visivo su tutte le parti dell’addolcitore per escludere la presenza di perdite d’acqua.

MANUTENZIONE PERIODICA E CONTROLLI
Almeno due volte l’anno deve essere eseguita la pulizia del tino della salamoia per la rimozione di sedimenti e
schiume che periodicamente possono formarsi per via dei depositi del sale.
Le resine contenute nella bombola hanno una vita media di 5 anni e dopo questo periodo devono essere sosti-
tuite da personale qualificato.
Per verificare lo stato delle resine, eseguire un test della durezza dell’acqua subito dopo la fine di una rigenerazione.
Se l’acqua dovesse risultare “dura”, questo potrebbe essere il segnale dell’esaurimento della capacità delle
resine di eseguire la funzione di addolcimento e si dovrà procedere con la sostituzione delle resine stesse.
Poiché la rigenerazione delle resine avviene per mezzo della soluzione idrosalina formatasi con lo scioglimento
del sale nell’acqua, sarà opportuno tenere spesso sotto controllo il livello del sale presente nel tino ed effettuare il
ripristino del livello in caso dovesse scarseggiare.
Ricordiamo che per un ottimale funzionamento dell’addolcitore si consiglia l’utilizzo di sale per addol-
cimento in PASTIGLIE. L’impiego di prodotti diversi da sale per addolcimento potrebbe compromettere il
regolare funzionamento dell’addolcitore provocando anche danni permanenti al dispositivo di comando NON
COPERTI DA GARANZIA.
Se a monte dell’addolcitore è stato installato un filtro, questo dovrà essere pulito regolarmente 3-4 volte l’anno
e se necessario, sostituire la cartuccia con una di pari caratteristiche.
SELEZIONE DELLA LINGUA DEL DISPLAY
La valvola di controllo dell’addolcitore BAV è dotata di display multilingua.
Per selezionare una lingua diversa da quella visualizzata, procedere come descritto di seguito:
1. La valvola deve essere senza alimentazione (spenta)
2. Collegare la valvola all’alimentatore elettrico
3. Premere immediatamente e contemporaneamente i pulsanti
4. Dopo circa 5 secondi apparirà la lista dei linguaggi disponibili
5. Rilasciare i due pulsanti tenuti premuti fino a questo momento
6. Con i pulsanti contrassegnati col simbolo della freccia sù/giù, spostarsi sulla lingua desiderata e premere
il pulsante per confermare la scelta
Ora il display mostrerà le scritte nella lingua selezionata.

Se all’accensione del display l’orario risultasse errato si dovrà impostare l’orario esatto, procedendo
come segue:
Se compare il simbolo del lucchetto in alto a sinistra significa che la tastiera è bloccata e per sbloccarla si
dovranno premere CONTEMPOREANEAMENTE i tasti “freccia sù/giù” per circa 5 secondi
Una volta scomparso il simbolo del lucchetto, premere MENU\CONFERMA DATO (comparirà “scegli
12\24 ore”) .
Con il tasto FRECCIA GIÙ portarsi sulla voce “imposta orologio” e confermare col tasto
MENU\CONFERMA DATO .
Regolare ora e minuti attraverso i tasti “freccia SÙ\GIU’” e confermare col tasto
MENU\CONFERMA DATO .
Per tornare alla schermata di servizio premere il tasto PASSO INDIETRO .
Trascorsi 60 secondi ricomparirà il simbolo del lucchetto in alto a sinistra e la tastiera sarà nuovamente in
blocco di sicurezza.
NOTE: TUTTI GLI ALTRI PARAMETRI DEL DISPOSITIVO ELETTRONICO SONO GIÀSTATI IMPOSTATI E RI-
SULTANO OTTIMALI PER LA MAGGIOR PARTE DEGLI UTILIZZATORI.
NON SARANNO NECESSARIE ULTERIORI IMPOSTAZIONI DA PARTE DELL’UTENTE.

REGOLAZIONE DELLA DUREZZA DELL’ACQUA
La valvola di controllo dell’addolcitore automatico BAV è dotata di un sistema di regolazione della durezza dell’acqua.
Agendo con un cacciavite sulla vite di regolazione indicata nell’immagine sopra riportata, è possibile miscelare
l’acqua in uscita trattata dall’addolcitore (che esce a zero gradi francesi), con l’acqua di rete.
La vite completamente avvitata da zero gradi di durezza, allentando aumenterà la durezza.
La regolazione della durezza dovrà essere assistita da un idoneo kit di misurazione della durezza, reperibile
facilmente in commercio. Si precisa che l’addolcitore BAV viene consegnato con la regolazione a zero gradi francesi.
RACCOMANDIAMO DI NON STRINGERE ECCESSIVAMENTE LA VITE DI MISCELAZIONE.

MODIFICA DELLA CAPACITÀ CICLICA DELL’ADDOLCITORE IN
PRESENZA DI BASSA DUREZZA DELL’ACQUA DA TRATTARE
Gli addolcitori BAV vengono programmati con capacità ciclica calcolata con durezza ipotetica in ingresso pari
a 40 gradi francesi.
In presenza di durezza dell’acqua da trattare inferiore a 40 gradi francesi è possibile aumentare la capacità
dell’addolcitore per ottenere un rendimento superiore in termini di litri d’acqua trattata.
Per modificare il parametro della capacità ciclica, operare come segue:
Dalla posizione di servizio:
Premere il tasto Menu\conferma dato .
Premere il tasto “FRECCIA GIÙ” per 5 volte fino ad arrivare sulla voce in evidenza “impostazione avanzata”
Premere il tasto .
Premere “FRECCIA GIÙ” per 2 volte fino ad arrivare alla voce “produzione acqua in ciclo”
Premere il tasto .
Utilizzare la seguente formula: Per addolcitore BAV5: (3,5 X 5000)/ durezza da trattare - Per addolcitore
BAV8: (5 X 5000)/ durezza da trattare - Per addolcitore BAV12: (9 X 5000)/ durezza da trattare - Per addolcitore
BAV18: (18 X 5000)/ durezza da trattare. Modificare il valore visualizzato sostituendolo col risultato ottenuto con la
formula, usando i tasti freccia .
Premere il tasto .
Per tornare alla schermata di servizio premere il tasto PASSO INDIETRO .
Fino alla comparsa della schermata principale. (sistema in funzione)
COME ATTIVARE LA RIGENERAZIONE “FORZATA”
Per attivare la rigenerazione, in posizione di servizio premere il pulsante, e si attiverà il motore della valvola.
Sul display compariranno le fasi in esecuzione con relativa indicazione del tempo di ogni fase.
Per “saltare” le fasi, premere il tasto fino alla fase di vostro interesse.
Al termine della rigenerazione verrà ripristinata la condizione di servizio.

MODIFICA DELL’INTERVALLO DI TEMPO
TRA DUE RIGENERAZIONI
Nel caso di bassi consumi di acqua, tali da non attivare in modalità volumetrica almeno una rigenerazione set-
timanale, l’addolcitore rigenererà e risciacquerà le resine in modo forzato secondo il valore espresso in giorni, di un
parametro programmabile presente nel menù “settaggi avanzati”.
Per impostare il dato, procedere come segue:
Dalla posizione di servizio:
Premere il tasto Menu\conferma dato .
Premere il tasto “FRECCIA GIÙ” per 5 volte fino ad arrivare sulla voce in evidenza “impostazione avanzata”
Premere il tasto .
Premere “FRECCIA GIÙ” per 7 volte fino ad arrivare alla voce “massimi giorni fra rigenerazioni”
Premere il tasto .
con i tasti freccia portare il valore a 7 giorni e premere il tasto .
Per tornare alla schermata di servizio premere il tasto PASSO INDIETRO .
SOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMI:
Elenco problematiche più comuni. Prima di consultare la tabella, in caso di malfunzionamento, controllare che
sia presente il sale per le rigenerazione e che il sistema sia collegato elettricamente. Qualora le soluzioni proposte non
consentano la risoluzione della problematica riscontrata contattare BALUGANI Trattamento Acqua.

L’addolcitore automatico cui fa riferimento questo manuale di istruzioni è coperto da garanzia secondo
quanto previsto dalle normative vigenti in materia, (Codice del Consumo e Codice Civile), a decorrere dalla
data di fatturazione del prodotto.
Il documento fiscale comprovante la data di acquisto del prodotto deve essere conservato per tutto il
periodo di copertura della garanzia.
Per garanzia si intende la sostituzione o la riparazione gratuita delle parti che risultino difettose all’origine
per vizi di fabbricazione o che comunque pregiudichino il corretto funzionamento dell’addolcitore.
La garanzia copre esclusivamente il prodotto o parte di esso e non verrà in ogni caso estesa qualora si
verifichino danni a terzi.
Per poter usufruire della garanzia l’utente dovrà osservare scrupolosamente ogni indicazione riportata nel
presente manuale.
È COMPITO DELL’ACQUIRENTE ESEGUIRE

qualità del materiale consegnato verificando che quanto ricevuto corrisponda esattamente a quanto ordinato\
richiesto al venditore.

TECHNICAL FEATURES
BAV water softeners must be used for the treatment of drinkable water having chemical-physical
characteristic reported by current regulations on water treatment.
The water treated by the softener is subjected to a reduction of the salts which are responsible for
hard water (proportionally to the regulation of the screw of the hardness-mixer). The water treated is also
subjected to a light increase of sodium ions due to the action of the cationic ion exchange resins used
to treat the water.
BAV automatic water softeners have an electronic head provided with a volumetric system of rege-
neration of the resins. The software in the microprocessor of our electronic volumetric heads allows the
start of the regeneration process only when necessary, which is only when a certain amount of water has
passed through the resins, differently from chronometric control valves, which regenerate resins at fixed
time spans set by the user or the installer, without considering actual daily water consumptions.
By low water consumption, the control valve will work in a combined volumetric/chronometric mode
and will activate a forced regeneration according to what the user or the manufacturer has set up; this
element can be set up again by the user.

CONNECTIONS AND INSTALLATION
The installation must be carried out as required by the regulations in force in the country where the installation is
performed by qualified and authorized personnel.
Incorrect installation can cause damage to the environment, people, animals and objects for which the manu-
facturer declines all responsibility.
The exhaust pipe provided must be firmly connected to the hose clip (see image above), paying attention that
the hose is flexible and of appropriate section and that there are no bends along its length. Moreover, the drain hose
must be firmly fixed to the drain pipelines to prevent it from coming out and spilling water in the room.
The drain hose must NOT be immersed in wells with stagnant water since that could cause a backflow of water
towards the device.
The distance between the device and the drain must not exceed 4 meters.
Too much heat or cold could seriously damage the softener, so we recommended to place it in places with
temperatures between 5 and 35 Celsius degrees.
In case of a long period of inactivity of the water softener it is necessary, when the device is reactivated,
to launch a manual regeneration to rinse the resins in the softener’s tank.

FIRST START
After the installation, proceed to start the water softener for the first time.
1) Pour water into the vat: for model BAV5=2,5L of water, for BAV8=4 L of water, for BAV10=5 L of
water, for BAV12=6L of water, for BAV18=10 L of water. After the first start this will be done auto-
matically by the softener after each regeneration of the resins.
2) Pour salt into the vat. We recommend salt for water softening in TABS, up to no more than ¾ of the
capacity of the container (see label MIN and MAX on the vat).
3) Carefully open the tap of the softener and after that open a mains water tap downline of the softener in
order to free the pipes from air and to rinse the resins (3-5 minutes will be enough).
4) Check all parts of softener to exclude the presence of water leaks.

PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND CONTROLS
At least twice a year you need to clean the brine vat to remove sediments and foams which might form periodi-
cally because of salt deposits.
The resins in the tank have an average life of 5 years, after this period they must be replaced by qualifies
personnel.
To check the condition of the resins, test the hardness of the water immediately after the end of a regeneration.
Should the water be “hard”, it might be that the capacity of the resins to perform their softening function is exhausted,
and that they have to be replaced.
Since the regeneration of the resins takes place by means of a hydro-saline solution formed through salt dissol-
ving in water, it is necessary to frequently check the level of salt in the vat and to fill it if there is not enough.
For an ideal functioning of the softener we recommend salt for water softeners in TABS. Products other
than salt for softeners could damage it permanently and these damages will not be covered by the guarantee.
If there is a filter upline of the device, this must be regularly cleaned 3-4 times a year and, if necessary, the filter
cartridge must be replaced with a similar one.
SELECTION OF THE LANGUAGE ON THE DISPLAY
The control valve of the softener has a multilingual display.
To select a different language, follow these instructions:
1. The control valve must not be connected to the power supply (switched off).
2. Connect the control valve to the power supply
3. Press immediately and at the same time keys
4. After about 5 seconds the list of the available languages will appear
5. Releaser the two keys
6. Using the arrows keys (up and down) select the desired language and press to confirm.
Now the display will use the selected language.

If the time setting on the display is not correct, you need to set the exact time, following these in-
structions:
If you see a padlock symbol in the top left corner, it means that the keyboard is locked. To unlock it, you
need to press SIMULTANEAUSLY keys “up” and “down” for about 5 seconds.
When the padlock symbol disappears, press “menu/confirm” (“choose 12/24 h” will appear) .
Press “down” to select “time setting” and confirm with “menu/confirm” .
Adjust hours and minutes using “up/down” and confirm pressing “menu/confirm” .
To go back to the initial service page, press “back” .
After 60 seconds the padlock symbol will appear in the top left corner and the keyboard will be locked
again.
ATTENTION: EVERY OTHER PARAMETER ON THE DEVICE HAS ALREADY BEEN SET AND THE SETTINGS
HAVE PROVEN IDEAL FOR MOST USERS.
FURTHER SETTINGS FROM THE USER WILL NOT BE NECESSARY.

REGULATION OF WATER HARDNESS
The control valve of the softener is equipped with a system for the regulation of water hardness. With a screwdriver,
you can adjust the regulating screw that you can see on the above picture, as a to blend the outgoing softened water (which
flows at 0°F) with normal tap water.
If the screw is fully screwed, the water is at 0°F, by loosening the screw you can have harder water.
The regulation of the hardness must be assisted by a specific kit for water hardness measurement, that you can easily
find on the market. The BAV softener is sold with a regulation correspondent to 0°F.
DO NOT FASTEN THE REGULATING SCREW TOO TIGHT.

HOW TO MODIFY THE SOFTENER’S CYCLIC
CAPACITY BY LOW WATER HARDNESS
BAV water softeners are programmed with a cyclic capacity which is calculated on a hypothetic hardness of the
incoming water at 40°F.
To modify the parameter of the cyclic capacity, follow this instructions:
From service position:
Press “menu/confirm”
Press “down” 5 times until you reach “advanced settings”

Use this formula: for BAV5: (3,5 X 5000)/hardness to treat - BAV8: (5 X 5000)/hardness to treat - BAV12: (9 X 5000)/
hardness to treat - BAV18 (18 X 5000)/hardness to treat. Modify the displayed number by substituting it with the result
of the formula, to do that use “up/down”.

HOW TO ACTIVATE A “FORCED” REGENERATION
To activate a regeneration, in service mode press : this will activate the valve’s motor.
On the display you will see the steps of the regeneration and their timing. To skip a step, press until you
reach your desired the step.
The service condition will be restored at the end of the regeneration.

HOW TO MODIFY THE TIME SPAN BETWEEN
TWO REGENERATIONS
By low water consumption, such that the regeneration in volumetric mode is not activated for more than a week,
the softener will regenerate and rinse the resins in formed mode according to a value expressed in days of a parame-
ter that you can set. To do so, go the “advanced settings” in the menu and proceed as follows:
From the service position:
Press “menu/confirm”
Press “down” 5 times until you reach “advanced settings”

LIABLITY AND GUARANTEE CONDITIONS
The automatic softener to which this handbook refers is covered by guarantee as provided for by current
regulations on the field (Consumer Code and Civil Code), starting from the date of invoice of the product.
The invoice attesting to the date of purchase of the product must be kept for the entire coverage period
of the guarantee.
The guarantee covers the substitution or free repair of parts that were originally defective due to manu-
facturing imperfections or that otherwise affect the proper functioning of the softener.
The guarantee only covers the product and its parts and will for no reason be extended to cover damages
to third parties.
To use the guarantee, the user must have carefully followed the instructions of this handbook.
THE BUYER IS REQUIRED TO PERFORM

A) When receiving the products and before signing by the driver, check the number and nature of the
parcels, which must correspond to those indicated on transportation note. Moreover, the buyer should check
the external conditions of the parcels, with special attention to possible signs of hitting or tampering that could
have compromised the quality of the product.
B) Not later than eight (8) days from the date of delivery, the buyer is required to check the quality of the
delivered material, making sure that what they received is exactly what they ordered/purchased by the seller.


BAV Wasserenthärter müssen für die Aufbereitung von Trinkwasser verwendet werden, das
chemische-physische Merkmale hat, die von den gültigen Vorschriften über Wasseraufbereitung
vorgesehen sind.
Das von dem Wasserenthärter aufbereiteten Wasser wird der Senkung der Salze unterzogen, die von
Wasserhärte verantwortlich sind (proportional zur Einstellung der Schraube der Härtevermischung). Es
geschieht auch eine leichte Steigerung der Natriumionen wegen der Wirkung von kationischen Harzen
mit Ionenaustausch, die für die Wasseraufbereitung verwendet werden.
BAV Wasserenthärter verfügen über einen elektronischen Kopf mit einem System für die
Regenerierung der Harze. Der Software vom Mikroprozessor in unseren elektronischen volumetrischen
Köpfenermöglicht denStartderHarzregenerierungnurwennnotwendig, dasheißt nurwenneinebestimmte
Menge an Wasser durch die Harze gelaufen ist, im Gegensatz zur chronometrischen Regelventile,
