PROJECTORS
Warnings
To prevent personel injury
The customer should never attempt to disassemble the lamp casing or to dispose of the lamp casing other than by returning it to BARCO.
To prevent injuries and physical damage, always read this manual and all labels on the system before inserting the lamp casing or
connecting to the wall outlet, adjusting the projector.
To prevent injuries, ta e note of the weight of the projector. Minimum 4 persons are needed to carry the projector.
NEVER loo into the lens ! Due to the high luminance damage to the eye can happen.
Before attempting to remove any of the projector's covers, you must turn off the projector and disconnect from the wall outlet.
When performing set up wor at a ceiling mounted projector, to prevent injury caused by falling objects or the system, set out a eep
out area.
To prevent projector damage
If the Air Filters are not regularly replaced, the air flow inside the projector could be disrupted, causing overheating. Overheating
may lead to the projector shutting down during operation.
In order to ensure that correct airflow is maintained, and that the projector complies with Electro-Magnetic Compatibility requirements,
it should always be operated with all of it's covers in place.
Ensure that nothing can be spilled on, or dropped inside the projector. If this does happen, switch off and unplug the mains supply
immediately. Do not operate the projector again until it has been chec ed by qualified service personnel.
The projector must always be mounted in a manner which ensures free flow of air into its air inlets and unimpeded evacuation of
the hot air exhausted from its cooling system. Heat sensitive materials should not be placed in the path of the exhausted air.
To prevent battery explosion
Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced.
Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Ambient Temperature Conditions
Careful considera ion of hings such as image size, ambien ligh level, projec or placemen and ype of screen o use are cri ical o
he op imum use of he projec ion sys em.
Opera ion empera ure :
Max. ambien empera ure : 40 °C (104°F)
Min. ambien empera ure : 0 °C (32°F).
The projec or will no opera e if ambien air empera ure falls ou side his range (0°C- 40°C) (32°F-104°F).
S orage empera ure : -35 °C o + 65 °C (-25.6°F o 149°F)
Humidity Conditions
S orage : 0 - 98% RH Non-condensing
Opera ion : 0 - 95% RH Non-condensing
Environment
Do no ins all he projec ion sys em in a si e near hea sources such as radia ors or air duc s, or in a place subjec o direc sunligh ,
excessive dus or humidi y. Be aware ha room hea rises o he ceiling; check ha empera ure near he ins alla ion si e is no
excessive.
Environment condition check
Warning: Harmful Environmen al Con amina ion Precau ion
A projec or mus always be moun ed in a manner which ensures he free flow of clean air in o he projec ors ven ila ion inle s. For
ins alla ions in environmen s where he projec or is subjec o airborne con aminan s such as ha produced by smoke machines or
similar ( hese deposi a hin layer of greasy residue upon he projec ors in ernal op ics and imaging elec ronic surfaces, degrading
performance), hen i is highly advisable and desirable o have his con amina ion removed prior o i reaching he projec ors clean
air supply. Devices or s ruc ures o ex rac or shield con amina ed air well away from he projec or are a prerequisi e, if his is no
a feasible solu ion hen measures o reloca e he projec or o a clean air environmen should be considered.
Only ever use he manufac ures recommended cleaning ki which has been specifically designed for cleaning op ical par s, never
use indus rial s reng h cleaners on a projec ors op ics as hese will degrade op ical coa ings and damage sensi ive op oelec ronic
componen s. Failure o ake sui able precau ions o pro ec he projec or from he effec s of persis an and prolonged air con aminan s
will culmina e in ex ensive and irreversible ingrained op ical damage. A his s age cleaning of he in ernal op ical uni s will be non-
effec ive and imprac icable. Damage of his na ure is under no circums ances covered under he manufac ures warran y and may
deem he warran y null and void. In such a case he clien shall be held solely responsible for all cos s incurred during any repair.
I is he clien s responsibili y o ensure a all imes ha he projec or is pro ec ed from he harmful effec s of hos ile airborne par icles
in he environmen of he projec or. The manufac ure reserves he righ o refuse repair if a projec or has been subjec o wan ful
neglec , abandon or improper use.
Special care for Laser beams
Special care should be used when DLP projec ors are used in he same room as performan laser equipmen . Direc or indirec hi ing
of a laser beam on o he lens can severely damage he Digi al Mirror Devices (TM) in which case here is a loss of warran y
Which screen type?
There are wo major ca egories of screens used for projec ion equipmen . Those used for fron projec ed images and hose for rear
projec ion applica ions.
Screens are ra ed by how much ligh hey reflec (or ransmi in he case of rear projec ion sys ems) given a de ermined amoun
of ligh projec ed oward hem. The GAIN of a screen is he erm used. Fron and rear screens are bo h ra ed in erms of gain. The
gain of screens range from a whi e ma e screen wi h a gain of 1 (x1) o a brushed aluminized screen wi h a gain of 10 (x10) or
more. The choice be ween higher and lower gain screens is largely a ma er of personal preference and ano her considera ion called
he Viewing angle.
In considering he ype of screen o choose, de ermine where he viewers will be loca ed and go for he highes gain screen possible.
A high gain screen will provide a brigh er pic ure bu reduce he viewing angle.

For more information about screens, contact your local screen supplier.
What image si e? How big should the image be?
The projec or is designed for projec ing an image size : min 1.00m (3.3f ) o max depending on he ambien ligh condi ions, wi h a
aspec ra io of 4 o 3.
Projector Configurations
Which configuration can be used.
The projec or can be ins alled o projec images in four differen configura ions :
fron / able,
rear/ able,
fron /ceiling or
rear/ceiling.
Positioning the Projector
The projec or should be ins alled perpendicular wi h he screen on a dis ance PD and wa er leveled in bo h direc ions.
Four moun ing posi ions are possible.
Be aware for he weigh of he projec or : 143.5 kg wi hou projec ion lens.
To carry he projec or by he carry handler, 4 persons are needed.
To carry he projec or wi h a fork lif , special fork lif ools are available (see carry op ions).
The moun ing posi ion shown in he above images are shown for a nominal lens posi ion.
When pu ing he projec or on he 3 adjus able fee , use hese fee o level he projec or by urning hese fee in or ou .
Definitions of the Abbreviation on drawings
B = Dis ance be ween ceiling and op of he screen or be ween floor and bo om of he screen.
