WATER ALERT SYSTEM OWNERS MANUAL
FOR SKUS: 691-3703, 691-3704, 691-3705
*ALL SKUS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY*
GENERAL USE AND APPLICATIONS
Insurance companies cite water damage from faulty plumbing, flooded
basements & frozen pipes as the third most common cause of
homeowner claims. While you can’t predict water leaks or mechanical
failure, you can improve your response time with a Barracuda Water
Alert System to help you protect your property and minimize repair
costs.
With the alert system, you use your smartphone to monitor for water
leaks, sump basin water levels and high or low temperature/humidity
levels to prevent damage. Water damage can be caused by frozen or
broken pipes, rusty water heaters, leaky roofs, basements and
foundations from snow, rain or floods, faulty plumbing installation, sump
pump basin overflow, leaky dishwasher hoses and washing machine
overflow.
Monitor and protect property: By purchasing and connecting a
control tower/gateway to your existing network router, and downloading
the app from www.barracudapumps.com/alerts. The control tower/
gateway will communicate with the separately purchased sensors/
probes to monitor your home and will send you text and e-mail alerts.
MONITORING APPLICATIONS
Home, second home, office or rental property
Kitchens, baths, laundry & pool rooms
Utility sinks, sumps & water heaters
Basements, garages, attics, greenhouses & farms

HOW IT WORKS
The wireless water alert sensor(s)/probe(s) monitors wet/dry
conditions, water level and temperature/humidity; it sends the
data to the control tower/gateway up to 200 ft. (60.96m). See
important setup and operation section for range information.
Connect the control tower/gateway to your network router with
the included LAN cable. The control tower/gateway uses your
high speed Internet connection to send the data to your app.
Information can be viewed via the app and text and email
alerts will be sent. (1 year included)
Add up to 5 wireless remote & sensors/probes (sold
separately) per control tower/gateway to monitor in other
areas.

IMPORTANT SETUP & OPERATION
The remote has a wireless range of up to 200 ft. (60.96 m). The 200 ft.
range applies to open air with no obstructions, and that radio waves DO NOT
curve around objects. Actual transmission range will vary depending on
what is in the path of the signal. Each obstruction (roof, walls, floors, ceilings,
etc.) will effectively cut signal range in half.
Metal, stucco, and some types of glass can reduce signal range by as much
as ¾ or more, compared to the ½ reduction typical of most obstructions. It is
possible to receive a signal through these materials, however maximum
range will be reduced due to their tendency to absorb or reflect a much larger
portion of the sensor’s signal.
The wireless remote measures and updates the temperature and humidity on
the LCD every 6 seconds.
Note: The new measurement is reported to your account at intervals
that you select using your online account.
REMOTE BATTERY INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the back cover by sliding the cover down.
2. Observing the correct polarity install 2-AAA
batteries. The batteries will fit tightly (to avoid start-
up problems make sure they do not spring free).
3. Do not mix old and new batteries.
4. Do not mix alkaline, lithium, standard or
rechargeable batteries.
5. Replace the back cover by sliding upwards and
check that it is securely fitted.

turns OFF when not needed to save battery power. The previously stored
information in the sensor will not be affected or cancelled while you change the
batteries. You may miss a reading or two while batteries are changed, see terms

agents.
Do not submerge the sensor case in water.

3. Other information: “Cookies”
La Crosse may collect information about you and your use of the Site whenever you visit this Site. This data
helps us analyze and improve the usefulness of the information we provide at the Site and the performance
of the Site. For example, we may collect various forms of information such as entry and exit points for the
Site (i.e., referring URLs or domains), site traffic statistics, and operating system and browser type
(collectively “Traffic Data”). Traffic Data is anonymous information that does not personally identify you but
is helpful for marketing purposes or for improving your experience on the Site.
In addition, when you request pages on our Site, our servers may automatically log your IP address. An IP
address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web. La
Crosse may store some information on your computer in the form of a “cookie” or similar file to help us
maintain and improve this Site in many ways.
A “cookie” is a small amount of data that is transferred to your browser by a Web server and can only be
read by the server that gave it to you. It functions as your identification card, recording such things as
Internet addresses, passwords, and preferences. It cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. With
most Internet browsers, you can erase “cookies” from your computer hard drive, block all “cookies,” or
receive a warning before a “cookie” is stored. The “Help” portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you
how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you
receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. Please refer to your browser instructions to
learn more about these functions. Enabling cookies allows you to take full advantage of the features on the
La Crosse Site and we recommend that you leave them turned on. If you elect to block the cookies, we will
not be able to provide you with a personalized experience on our Site.
4. Use of Information Collected
La Crosse may use Personal Information to contact you when necessary. We use your e-mail address only
to the extent necessary to send alerts and to follow up on specific questions requiring information from us.
Visitors that give us their telephone numbers online will only receive telephone contact from us to send text
message alerts and respond to information requests. We may use non-identifying and aggregate
information to better design our website and to share with service providers.
5. Sharing Personal Information
