Safety Precautions
All users must ensure they understand how to operate all of the controls of the machine and
learn how to stop the engine quickly in case of an emergency. Also make sure the user
receives adequate instructions before operation.
Do not allow children to operate this machine and keep children and pets away from the
area when operating.
The engines exhaust contains carbon monoxide, which is poisonous. Do not run engine
without proper ventilation and never operate indoors.
During operation, the engine and exhaust become very hot so users must exercise caution
to avoid burns. Keep flammable materials away, and do not place anything on the engine
while running. Keep the engine at least 1 metre (3 feet) away from building and other
equipment during operation.
Read this user manual in full before attempting to operate this machine.

Assembly Instructions
BEFORE OPERATING THIS UNIT:
FUEL
We recommend that the use of ethanol fuels is avoided with your BBT four stroke engine. To get
the best possible performance from your engine, use premium unleaded fuel only.
It is also a good idea to drain the fuel and give the fuel tank a good clean out every 3 month
or after 25hrs of use.

9
ENGINE OIL
Oil is a major factor affecting the performance and service life of your BBT four stroke engine. Use
a high quality 4-stroke engine oil, we recommend SAE-30 for general use.
WARNING
Check the engine oil level before each use. Operating this unit
without sufficient oil will cause serious damage to the engine.

10
Operation Instructions
STARTING
THE ENGINE
1. To start a cold engine, move the choke lever to CLOSED (up position).
2. Prime the engine by pressing the primmer bulb a few times.
3. Ensure the switch on the handle of the first section of the machine is in the ON position.
4. Pull the pull- start out until you feel resistance, the pull firmly, returning the pull start cord to
return gently.
5. If the choke was engaged while starting the engine, slowly dis-engage the choke to the
CLOSED position as the engine begins to fire.

11
HOT RESTART
If the engine is operated at above ambient temperature, then turned off and allowed to sit for a
while, it may not start again on the first pull and the starting procedure may need to be restarted.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
To stop the engine in an emergency, simply flick the switch on the handle into the OFF position.
Although under regular condition you should fully release the throttle and wait until engine slows
down to idle speed before stopping the engine, as stopping the engine at full revs can be
damaging.

AIR FILTER
A dirty air filter will restrict air flow to the carburettor, hindering engine performance. If operating in
dusty conditions, clean the air filter more often than specified in the maintenance schedule
WARNING
Operating the engine without an air filter element, or with a
damaged air filter element, will allow dirt to contaminate the
engine, causing rapid engine wear and voided warranty.
To inspect the air filter, press the latch on the top of the air filter cover to remove it. If upon
inspection the air filter is overly dirty, it should be cleaned or replaced.

14
SPARK PLUG
Removing the spark plug
1. Remove the top cover by loosening the
5mm bolt on top.
2. Disconnect the spark plug cap and
remove the spark plug with the
provided spark plug spanner.
3. Replace the plug if it is damaged or in very poor
condition. Clear away and grime that has built up
over the spark plugs terminals. When reinstalling
the plug, be sure it is tightened sufficiently as
loose spark plugs can overheat and damage your
engine.

15
Troubleshooting
ENGINE WILL NOT START
Possible Cause
Resolution
1. Check control positions
Choke open
Move lever to CLOSED position
unless the engine is warm
Engine switch in off position
Turn engine to on position

re-fuelled with bad petrol
Drain fuel tank & carburettor. Re-
fuel with fresh petrol
3. Check coil for spark
Faulty Coil
Remove spark plug & place into
coil lead (earth end of plug). Pull
units pull start; if there is no spark,
replace spark plug. Repeat start
sequence; if unit still does not run,
contact BBT Service.
4. Remove & inspect spark
plug
Spark plug faulty, grimy or
improperly gapped
Gap (0.6-0.7mm) or replace spark
plug
Spark plug is wet with petrol
(flooded engine)
Allow the spark plug to dry. After
drying, install the spark plug &
repeat start sequence
