The Fundor T centrifugal casting machine is
designed exclusively for casting dental alloys,
with the exception of titanium. Any other use is
considered to be improper. We shall not be liable
for any damage resulting from improper use.
CAUTION! Titanium reacts very strongly to the
crucibles – personal injury and damage to the unit
are possible!
During melting, alloys containing beryllium
produce strong oxides that cause considerable wear
to the crucibles and remain there in significant
quantities. CAUTION! When beryllium is processed,
carcinogenic particles are released. Wear mouth
protection and ensure good suction extraction when
casting and finishing!
The safety instructions must be followed in order to
avoid personal injury or damage to equipment. We
shall not be liable for failure to comply with the
safety instructions.
General safety instructions
lPlace of use
The unit has been designed solely for use in dental
laboratories and comparable establishments for
research, commercial and training purposes. •
The unit may only be installed on an adequately
stable surface. • The unit must only be used in dry
rooms.
lOperator and operating personnel
The unit must only be operated by dental
professionals, or they must provide supervision if
trainees or other persons operate unit. • Wear the
protective clothing prescribed for use in dental
laboratories and observe the rules of conduct. •
The unit may only be operated by staff members
who are familiar with and follow the instructions
of this operating manual. • The operating manual
must be easily accessible when the machine is
operated. • Observe the national accident
prevention regulations in addition to this operating
manual.
lHandling the machine
Prior to connection to the power supply check
whether the specifications on the rating plate
correspond to the supply network. In the case
of uncertainty, consult an electrician. • The
unit is categorised under protection class 1
and may only be connected to properly earthed
power sources (earth contact sockets). •
Modifications of the machine are not
permitted. • Always keep signs and stickers
such that they are easy to read. They must not
be removed. • Check the machine and leads
for damage regularly. The machine must not
be operated if it has any defects that may result
in risks for the employees or third persons. •
Protect the leads against heat, oil and sharp
edges. The leads must not be used to carry the
machine or to pull out the mains plug.
lCare and maintenance
Always switch off the machine and pull out the
mains plug before performing care, cleaning
or maintenance work. • Only use dry or
slightly moist cloths for cleaning. Do not spray
the machine with water or immerse it in water.
lRepairs
Repairs may be carried out solely by BEGO
customer service or by persons authorised by
BEGO customer service. • Metallic housings
must be grounded properly so as to prevent
them from carrying current. Otherwise they are
extremely dangerous because the housings
may be live due to damage to the machine!
Since a check to ensure that the housing is in a
de-energized state is mandatory every time the
machine has been opened (Germany: check in
accordance with DIN VDE 0701-1), only
qualified electricians may open the machine! •
Only BEGO replacement and wearing parts may
be used.

Special safety instructions regarding this unit
Installation
lThe unit is categorised under protection class 1 and may only be connected to properly earthed power
sources (earth contact sockets).
lOnly a trained worker is allowed to install the Fundor T.
Fundor T has go to be placed horizontally on a level working bench.
lWhen laying cables and hoses, ensure that they are protected from hot components (e.g., moulds).
lIt is absolutely necessary to note the safety an danger pecautions in the instructions for use when
installind and starting of Multiplex and automatic gas lighter.
Working
lThe counterweight of the mould ist to be correctly adjusted in the clicking points in order
to prevent the out-of-balace and so a moving of the machine when centrifugal casting.
Danger of burns due to hot parts!
lWear protective clothing (protective apron), safety shoes, safety goggles and protective gloves.
lAlways use mould tongs to move moulds and hot crucibles.
lPlace hot parts only on a fireproof surface.
lCarry out maintenance and cleaning work prior to casting or once the unit has cooled down.

The Fundor T is a benchtop machine for casting dental
work. It can be used for precious metal, cobalt-crome
and metal-to-ceramik alloys or no precious metal
content.
The ingots are melted with a flame. We recommend to
use for melting only the Multiplex melting torch for
propane/natural gas/oxygen and for simplifying the
setting of the flame the automatic gas lighter.

Installation
Only a trained worker is allowed to install
the Fundor T.
Observe the safety information!
lPlace the Fundor T on a level worktop. Fundor T
has to contact the working bench with all four feet.
The front right rubber foot can be used for levelling
- after opening side panel (see figure 1).
lThere is the possibility to screw on two feet. Open
the right-hand side panel and unscrew the two
rubber feet. Fasten the separately delivered feet and
mark the fixing points at the bench. Drill holes in
the worktop and screw the casting machine down
with suitable screw (see figure 2).
lInstall the Multiplex melting torch next to the
machine in a suitable position. The automatic
gas lighter facilities enormously the firing and
adjustingof the melting torch. It can be mounted at
the wall or at the back of Fundor T (pos. 7 in fig. 4).
When installing these units take notice of their
instructions for use.

Working
Danger of burns due to hot parts!
lWear protective clothing (protective apron), safety shoes, safety goggles and protective gloves.
lAlways use mould tongs to move moulds and hot crucibles.
lPlace hot parts only on a fireproof surface.
The counterweight of the mould ist to be correctly adjusted in the clicking points in order
to prevent the out-of-balace and so a moving of the machine when centrifugal casting.
1. Switch main switch 1on („I“): green LED 2will come on.
2. Lid 4of the centrifuging chamber may be opened after about 15 seconds.
3. Set the starting sped required at switch 5
scale mark 4 for precious metal alloys for crown and bridges,
scale mark 6 for precious metal alloys for metal-ceramics,
scale mark 8 for alloys based on palladium,
scale mark 8 for cobalt-chrome and nickel-chrome alloys.
These are guide values. Infinitely variable adjustment makes other values possible. The
optimal starting speed depends on the composition of the alloy, the temperature and the flow
properties of the melt. Lower starting speed values may also be favourable for some alloys.
4. Turn the double-jointed arm 8counter-clockwise so that the counterweight 9stands at the right (fig. 4).
5. Set the counterweight for the size of mould being used by raising the weight, movingit and engaging it
securely again. Example: for amould of size 3approach the counterweight to the figure 3.
If the counterweight is not se correctly, the out-of-balace of the centrifugal armmay move the
machine.
6. Put crucible in its holder 10 and put casting metal in. Use for cobalt-chrome alloys and non-precious alloys
low crucibles (Order-No. 52426) and put the casting cylinderside bei side.
7. Put the mould on the mould holder 11 and adjust the height at lever 12 so that casting funnel and crucible
opening align.
8. Push the crucible on the mould.
9. Switch main switch to „Prepare” ( ) symbol (switch springs back to „I“): the yellow LED 3 flashs. The
machine ist now ready for casting.
10. Ignite the Multiplex melting torch, adjust it and melt the casting metal. NB: Please observe Operating
Instructions for Multiplex.
11. Close the lid when the moment for casting is reached. This starts the centrifuging, which takes about
20 seconds.
12. Turn the Multiplex melting torch off.
13. The lock will release the lid after about 15 seconds. Open lid, remove mould.
14. Switch main switch off („O“).

Care
lKeep centrifugal chamber clean.
lSet the flame of the Multiplex melting torch so that
it is just right to avoid overheating the surface of
the unit.
Crucibles care
lAlways preheat crucible together with mould to
cast.
lGlaze new crucible for precious metal alloys with
Auromelt HF melting powder prior to inserting the
alloy.
Danger of burns due to hot parts!
Carry out maintenance and cleaning work prior to casting or once the unit has cooled down..
CAUTION!
Switch off the unit and pull out the plug prior to any care or maintenance!
