Before using Bluetooth®accessories
or mobile phones inside a vehicle,
check the vehicle user guide for any
limitations on the use of these
products.
For additional information please consult
your mobile phone's user guide.
Compatibility
The following mobile phones can
be used with the handsfree Car Kit
Bluetooth® Portable:
• BenQ/Siemens mobile phones
with Bluetooth interface. Certain
devices may have limited
functions.
• Mobile phones by other manufac-
turers that are also equipped with
a handsfree profile Bluetooth in-
terface. Certain devices may have
limited functions.
Performance
The handsfree Car Kit Bluetooth®
Portable will from hereon be re-
ferred to as "Car Kit".
It is intended for use with a 12 V
socket (cigarette lighter).
Bluetooth®technology
The Car Kit and phone communicate
using Bluetooth, a short-range radio
connection.
To enable this communication, the
Car Kit must be connected to the
phone. For more information please
read "Connecting to the phone for
the first time (Pairing)", p. 2.
Fitting/Dismantling
To install the device follow steps 1
to 3from the diagrams on the cov-
er pages. Dismantle the device using
the same steps in reverse.
The Car Kit can be adjusted so that it
can be operated by the driver or the
front-seat passenger.
To do this, twist the Car Kit (see
step 4on the cover pages). Then
twist the display, whilst simultane-
ously pressing buttons cand
a(see step 5on the cover
pages).
The Bluetooth®" word mark and logos are
owned by the Bluetooth®SIG, Inc. and
any use of such marks by BenQ Corp. is
under license.
Other trademarks and trade names are
those of their respective owners.
Do not use plug extension cables or plug
adaptors when assembling the device as
these prevent the Car Kit from being in-
stalled securely.

Fitting the microphone
In order to ensure optimum voice
quality, you can also clip the micro-
phone onto your lapel, for example,
using the adjusting clips or attach it
to the dashboard with the adhesive
pad. Clean the area first where you
want to attach the external micro-
phone using a suitable fat dissolving
cleaning agent. The adhesive pad
will only adhere permanently to a
grease-free surface.
Secure the external microphone in
the direction of the speaker at the re-
quired location using the adhesive
velcro pads.
Keys and symbols
You can access your Car Kit's user in-
terface using the navigation button
and the four function keys.
See below for the symbols used to il-
lustrate the navigation button's
actions:
glouder/up
hquieter/down
fPressing the navigation
button confirms the
selection.
When a button requires a long press,
the user interface will display "press
and hold".
In all other cases a short press of the
button will suffice.

• Activate the Car Kit's registration
mode by pressing and holding f.
• Activate your phone's Bluetooth
interface and start searching for
Bluetooth activated devices with-
in the range of your phone.
• When the Car Kit is located, the
phone will request you to confirm
the connection by entering a PIN.
The PIN is shown on the Car Kit
display.
• After the PIN has been entered,
the telephone ID is shown on the
Car Kit display which subsequent-
ly switches to standby mode. With
phones from other manufacturers
it may be necessary to make a con-
firmation on the phone for the Car
Kit to be able to switch to standby
mode.
The Car Kit is now ready for use. The
Car Kit and the phone can communi-
cate with one another and recognise
each other in future.
Using several phones
The Car Kit can save the connection
details of up to 4 phones, each of
which can be selected for use.
When a fifth phone is connected, the
entry details of the phone that has
not been connected for the longest
period of time are automatically
deleted.
Switching on the Car Kit
• Switch on the Car Kit by starting
your car and/or by pressing and
holdingb.
• The Car Kit displays all known
phones in a list. You have around
5 seconds to select your phone.
After this time has elapsed, the
phone that appears first in the
list is automatically selected and
connected.
Should the selected phone not be
available the Car Kit will discontinue
the search after around 3 minutes.

Using the Car Kit with a different phone
• To switch off the Car Kit press
and holdb.
• To switch on the Car Kit press and
holdb. The Car Kit displays all
known phones in a list for around
5seconds.
• Select the desired phone:

If no phone is connected for an hour,

Troubleshooting
Loud background noise on called
partner's terminal
• Do not install the microphone in
the air flow of the sunroof, win-
dow or ventilation.
Poor talk and audio quality
• Increase Car Kit volume.
• A minimum distance of 60 cm
is recommended between
the microphone and the loud-
speaker.
• The distance between the micro-
phone and the user's mouth
should not exceed 80 cm.
Phone cannot be located/ Bluetooth
connection problems
• Connecting to the phone for the
first time, see p. 2.
• Since the last time the phone was
used with the Car Kit, at least 4
more phones have been regis-
tered. Re-register the phone.
Addressbook is not being updated
• Make sure the phone is in standby
mode and the key lock is not acti-
vated. Reconnect the phone to the
Car Kit, see p. 3.

Kompatibilität
Die Kfz-Freisprecheinrichtung Car Kit
Bluetooth® Portable ist geeignet für
folgende Telefone:
• BenQ/Siemens-Mobiltelefone mit
Bluetooth-Schnittstelle. Geräte-
abhängig kann die Funktionalität
eingeschränkt sein.
• Mobiltelefone anderer Hersteller,
welche über eine Bluetooth-
Schnittstelle „Handsfree-Profil“
verfügen. Geräteabhängig kann
die Funktionalität eingeschränkt
sein.
Leistungsmerkmale
Die Kfz-Freisprecheinrichtung Car Kit
Bluetooth® Portable wird nachfol-
gend als „Car Kit“ bezeichnet.
Sie ist für den Betrieb in der
12 V-Steckdose vorgesehen
(Zigarettenanzünder).
Bluetooth®-Technologie
Das Car Kit und das Telefon
kommunizieren mittels Bluetooth,
einer Kurzstreckenfunkverbindung.
Um diese Kommunikation zu ermög-
lichen, müssen Car Kit und Telefon
miteinander gepairt/verbunden wer-
den. Lesen Sie hierzu „Erste Verbin-
dung mit dem Telefon herstellen
(Pairing)“, S. 13.
Montage/Demontage
Zur Montage gehen Sie vor wie in
Punkt 1bis 3der Zeichnung auf
den Umschlagseiten dargestellt. Die
Demontage erfolgt analog.
Sie können das Car Kit so justieren,
dass es vom Fahrer oder vom Beifah-
rer aus bedient werden kann.
Drehen Sie hierzu das Car Kit (siehe
Punkt 4, Umschlagseiten). Drehen
Sie dann das Display, indem Sie die
Tasten cund agleichzeitig
drücken (siehe Punkt 5, Umschlag-
seiten).
Die Rechte an der Wortmarke Bluetooth®sowie
an den Bluetooth®Logos sind im Besitz der
Bluetooth®SIG, Inc. Jedwede Verwendung die-
ser Marken durch die BenQ Corp. ist Gegenstand
einer Lizenz-Vereinbarung.
Die Rechte an sonstigen Markenzeichen und
Handelsnamen sind im Besitz ihrer jeweiligen
Eigentümer.
Verwenden Sie keine Steckerverlänge-
rung und keinen Steckeradapter zur Mon-
tage, da sonst der sichere Halt des Car
Kits nicht gewährleistet ist.

Um eine optimierte Sprachqualität
zu erreichen, können Sie das Mikro-
fon auch mit der Befestigungsklam-
mer z. B. an Ihr Revers heften oder
mit dem Klebepad auf dem
Armaturenbrett befestigen. Reini-
gen Sie die Stelle, an der Sie das ex-
terne Mikrofon befestigen wollen,
mit einem geeigneten fettlösenden
Reinigungsmittel. Nur auf einer fett-
freien Oberfläche kann das Klebepad
dauerhaft befestigt werden.
Das externe Mikrofon an der ge-
wünschten Stelle mit Hilfe des Kle-
bepads in Richtung des Sprechers
befestigen.
Tasten und Symbole
Die Bedienerführung Ihres Car Kits
erfolgt über die Navigationstaste
und vier Funktionstasten.
Nachfolgend werden folgende Sym-
bole verwendet, um die unterschied-
lichen Aktionen der Navigationstaste
darzustellen:
glauter/nach oben
hleiser/nach unten
fDrücken der Navigations-
taste bestätigt die Aus-
wahl.
Wenn langes Drücken einer Taste er-
forderlich ist, steht in der Bedie-
nungsanleitung „lang drücken“.
In allen anderen Fällen genügt es,
die Tasten kurz anzutippen.

Inbetriebnahme
Erste Verbindung mit dem
Telefon herstellen (Pairing)
• Schalten Sie das Car Kit aus, in-
dem Sie blang drücken.
• Aktivieren Sie den Anmeldemodus
vom Car Kit, indem Sieflang
drücken.
• Aktivieren Sie die Bluetooth-
Schnittstelle Ihres Telefons und
starten Sie am Telefon die Suche
nach emfangsbereiten Bluetooth-
Geräten in der Umgebung.
• Wenn das Car Kit gefunden wird,
fordert das Telefon Sie auf, die
Verbindung durch Eingabe einer
PIN-Nummer zu bestätigen. Die
PIN-Nummer wird im Display des
Car Kits angezeigt.
• Nach der Bestätigung zeigt das
Car Kit die Identifikation des Tele-
fons im Display an und schaltet
anschließend in den Bereitschafts-
modus um. Bei Telefonen anderer
Hersteller ist möglicherweise eine
Bestätigung am Telefon notwen-
dig, um in den Bereitschaftsmo-
dus zu gelangen.
Ab diesem Moment ist das Car Kit be-
triebsbereit. Das Car Kit und das Te-
lefon können miteinander kommu-
nizieren und werden sich künftig
wieder erkennen.
Betrieb mit mehreren Telefonen
Das Car Kit speichert die Verbindung
von insgesamt vier Telefonen, mit
denen es wahlweise betrieben wer-
den kann.
Wenn ein fünftes Telefon verbunden
wird, wird der Eintragfür das Telefon
gelöscht, welches am längsten nicht
mehr in Verbindung mit dem Car Kit
genutzt wurde.
Car Kit einschalten
• Schalten Sie das Car Kit ein, indem
Sie die Kfz-Zündung Ihres Autos
einschalten und/oder blang
drücken.
• Das Car Kit zeigt alle bekannten
Telefone in einer Liste an. Für ca.
5 Sekunden können Sie eines der
Telefone auswählen. Nach Ablauf
dieser Zeit wird automatisch das
erste in der Liste ausgewählt und
verbunden.
Sollte das ausgewählte Telefon nicht
verfügbar sein, bricht das Car Kit
nach ca. 3 Minuten die Suche ab.

Fehlerbehebung
Störgeräusche beim Gesprächspartner
• Mikrofon nicht im Luftstrom von
Schiebedach, Fenster oder Lüf-
tung befestigen.
Schlechte Sprach- und Audioqualität
• Car Kit lauter stellen.
• Es empfiehlt sich, einen Abstand
von mindestens 60 cm zwischen
Mikrofon und Lautsprecher einzu-
halten.
• Der Abstand zwischen Mikrofon
und Mund des Benutzers sollte
80 cm nicht überschreiten.
Telefon wird nicht gefunden/ Bluetooth-
Verbindungsprobleme
• Erste Verbindung mit dem Telefon
herstellen, siehe S. 13.
• Seit der letzten Benutzung des Te-
lefons mit dem Car Kit sind min-
destens vier weitere Telefone
angemeldet worden. Melden Sie
das Telefon erneut an.
Adressbuch wird nicht aktualisiert
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Telefon
im Bereitschaftsmodus ist und kei-
ne Tastensperre aktiviert wurde.
Verbinden Sie es erneut mit dem
Car Kit, siehe S. 13.
