1 General
This instruction manual provides important information on using the
machine/equipment.
Safe operation can only be ensured by following all the safety instructions and
directions contained in the manual.
The local accident prevention regulations and generel safety regulations for
the machine‘s/equipment‘s area of use must also be complied with.
Read the instruction manual carefully before starting any work.
The manual is a component part of the product and must be kept in immediate
vicinity of the machine for use by staff at all times.

1 General
1.4 Appropriate use
A trapezoid blade, operated by leverage, is used to cut
pleated and honeycomb fabrics to:
- Curtain-width
-Proletrackmeasurements,withcorrectionmeasurementscanbeset
The following limits must be complied with:
- max. fold depth: 25 mm
- max. packet height: 115 mm
- max. Measuring stop up to: 2400 mm (with stop plate)
Any use that deviates from the specifications in the section entitled
„Appropriate use“ is inappropriate and prohibited.
The following are not permitted:
•Operationinafaultyconditionorintheeventofmalfunctions
that affect safety, e.g.:
- Unauthorised modifications to the machine/equipment
- Use of unsuitable personnel
•Exceedingthespecifiedlimits!
•Cuttingfabricsotherthanthosespecified.

2 Safety
2.1 Introduction
This section provides an overview of all the important safety aspects for
ensuring optimum protection of personnel and safe, trouble-free operation.
Failure to comply with the directions and safety instructions contained in this
manual can give rise to serious risks.
2.2 Operator‘s responsibility
The machine/equipment is used in the commercial sector.
Its operator is therefore subject to statutory health and safety requirements.
The safety, accident prevention and environmental regulations for the
machine‘s/equipment‘s area of use must therefore be complied with in addition
to the health and safety instructions contain in the instruction manual.
The following requirements are especially important:
 •Theoperatormustreaduponthecurrentindustrialsafetyregulationsand
carry out a risk assessment to identify any additional risks arising from the
particular working conditions where the machine/equipment is used.
There must be translated into operating instructions for the
machine/equipment.
 •Fortheentiretimethemachine/equipmentisusedtheoperatormustcheck
whether the operating instructions that have been drawn up are in accordance
with the latest version of the regulations and amend them accordingly if
necessary.
•Theoperatormustassignanddefineresponsibilityforinstallation,operation,
maintenance and cleaning unambiguously.
•Theoperatormustensurethatallemployeesusingthemachine/equipment
have read and understood the instruction manual.
He must also train the employees and inform them about risks at regular
intervals.

2.3 Operating personnel
CAUTION!
Injury due to inadequate qualications!
Inappropiate operation can result in serious personal injury and
property damage.
Therefore:
 •Particularactivitiesmustonlybecarriedoutbythepersonsspecied
in the relevant sections of this manual.
 •Incaseofdoubt,specialistsmustbecalledin.
 Theinstructionmanualspeciesthefollowingqualicationsforvariousareas
of activity:
•Trainedpersons
have received instruction from the operator in the tasks assigned to them and
the possible risks of inappropriate behaviour.
 •Specialists
are able to carry out the work assigned to them and recognise possible risks
for themselves on the basis of their training, expertise and experience,
as well as their knowledge of the relevant regulations.
2.4 Personal safety equipment
The following must be worn for all work as a matter of principle:
Safety shoes
for protection against heavy falling objects and skidding on slippery
surfaces.
Protective workwear
is close-fitting work clothing with low tearing strength,
narrow sleeves and no protruding parts.
It mainly protects against catching in moving machine parts.
For cleaning:
Goggles
safety goggles for protection against flying material particles.
For maintenance/repair works:
Protective gloves
strong protective gloves (chain gloves) for protection against cuts.

2 Safety
2.10 Compliance with environmental legislation
The statutory requirements regarding waste avoidance and proper
recycling/disposal must be complied with for all work on and using
the machine/equipment.
In the case of installation, repair and maintenance work in particular substances
hazardous to water such as
- lubricants
- hydraulic oil
- coolants
- cleaning liquids containing solvents
must not be allowed to pollute the ground or enter the sewers.
Such substances must be stored, transported, collected and disposed
 ofinsuitablecontainers!
2.6 Labelling
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to illegible symbols!
Over time, labels and symbols on the machine/device can become
dirty or in other way illegible.
Therefore:
 •Keep all safety, warning and operating instructions on the
machine/device in a clearly legible state.
 •Immediately replace damaged signs or labels.
The following symbols can be found on the machine/device.
They refer to the immediate proximity in which they are placed.
Hand injury
Caution,handsoffplacesthatbearwarningsigns!
There is a risk that the hands could get crushed
or otherwise injured.

3 Transport / Package / Storage
3.1 Safety instructions for transport
Attention!
Damages due to improper transport!
The property can be substantially damaged due to improper transport.
Therefore:
   •Be careful and observe the instructions on the packaging when
unloading the packets at delivery as well as during internal transport.
   •Only remove packaging shortly before mounting.
3.2 Transport
The general transport and safety regulations must be complied with.
These include all current national and international regulations and directives,
as well as current accident prevention regulations.
Failure to comply may result in serious personal injury and/or damage
to the consignment.
3.2.1 Transport inspection
Check the consignment for completeness and transport damage immediately
upon receipt.
Proceed as follows if any transport damage is visible externally:
 • Donotaccepttheconsignmentoronlyacceptitwithreservations.
• Makeanoteoftheextentofthedamageonthetransportdocumentsorthe
carrier‘s delivery note.
• Startthecomplaintsprocess.
Note!
Complain about every defect as soon as it is detected.
Damage claims can only be made within the applicable
deadlines for complaints.
3.3 Package
Standard-Package:
Remove the packing material and dispose of in an environmentally friendly way.
In the case of a seaworthy wooden box:
Openthebox,removethelmanddisposeofinanenvironmentallyfriendlyway.
3.4 Storage
The machine/device, all equipment, materials and spare parts
must be stored in a dry place.
Avoid condensations. Damages parts must not be transferred to stock.
All damaged parts must be exchanged for new original parts.

Installation and commissioning must be carried out by the
manufacturer‘s personnel or persons authorised by the manufacturer.
CAUTION!
Risks due to faulty installation and commissioning!
Installation and commissioning require trained specialist staff with
  sufcientexperience.
Errors during installation can put lives at risk or cause substantial
property damage.

Note!
Only use spare parts made by Benthin.
The ruler for the fabric width and scale for the clearance dimension are
mounted on the respective stopper rail.
Attention!
If a fabric aligning rail (optional) is used, the stop plate on the stopper
rail also has to be changed
