KAYAK ROOF PADS PRODUCT MANUAL
SAFETY WARNINGS
Vehicular transports of all kinds can be dangerous. Please refer to your vehicle manufacturer’s
manual for carrying weight capacity of the roof.
Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, the Best Marine and Outdoors roof pad straps
could prevent your vehicle’s side curtain airbags from deploying in an accident. Use at your own risk.
The are designed for kayaks, canoes, SUP paddle boards, surfboards, skis and snowboards only. Using our
roof pads for other purposes could result in injury or death.
Using the included straps to tie down the kayak rmly and securely is critical.
Any person using the Best Marine and Outdoors roof pads is personally responsible
for properly following the instructions for use and/or installation.
When transporting a kayak with the Best Marine and Outdoors roof pads high speeds,
wind, sharp corners and/or sudden braking can cause the kayak or other object to shift positions
or become dislodged. Periodically checking the security of the roof pads and strap attachments
is critical.
Any person using the Best Marine and Outdoors roof pads accepts full responsibility for any
and all damages or injury of any kind including death, which may result from improper use
and/or installation.
It is very important that you fully understand the instructions provided by Best Marine
and Outdoor, and that the roof pads be installed properly and securely on your vehicle.
You are responsible for securing the roof pads to your vehicle’s roof and periodically inspecting
the roof pads and straps or loosening, adjustment, wear, and damage.

Two straps are connected to the pads and are used to secure the pads to your vehicle’s roof.
Two additional straps go over the top of your kayak and secure your kayak to the roof pads
Two trunk anchors and bow and stern ropes are used to connect the bow & stern of your kayak to the front
and rear of your vehicle
STEP 1. Lay the two roof pads on top of your roof. One in the front and one towards the back. Do not place
on sunroof
STEP 2. Open your vehicle’s doors. (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT). The straps that are connected to the roof
pads go through the INSIDE of your vehicle. Using the buckle, connect & tighten the two straps

MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THE DOORS. DO NOT WRAP THROUGH THE WINDOWS. WRAPPING THROUGH THE
WINDOWS WILL PREVENT YOU FROM OPENING THE DOOR DURING EMERGENCY.
STEP 3. Place your kayak on top of the roof pads. Make sure it is centered and the weight is balanced.
STEP 4. Again, with your vehicle’s doors open., wrap the additional two straps over the top of the kayak
(metal loops are not necessary), through the INSIDE of your vehicle, connect and tighten using the buckle.
Caution When Using On A Rainy Day: The straps compress the door gaskets and act as channels for water.
Water may enter your car if used when raining. This happens with any roof pads, not just ours.
STEP 6. Never assume your kayak is completely secure. Peridoically inspect the security of the kayak and all
straps throughout the duration of transportation.
