Safety information and legal
requirements
Before starting using any bike, we invite you to check all the trafc rules of your
country, provisions on carrying both people and goods, in order to be aware of
duties and rights.
In most of European countries e-bikes up to 25km/h follow the same rules of
traditional bicycles.
We invite you in verifying any rule and law in your country before starting using
your new e-bike.
Any change from the original conguration is to be intended at your own risk.
We highly recommend to always contact the authorized dealer for maintenance
and repairs of your bike.
Switch off the E-Bike system and take out the battery before carrying out any
work on your E-Bike, e.g. assembly or maintenance work, or before transporting
it. Unintentional activation of the E-Bike system poses a risk of injury.
We remind you that our bikes has been designed and realized for specic use:
you must not ride on stairs, jump or perform wheelies or similar activities.

Saddle
Bicicapace uses saddles that guaran-
tee high comfort for everyday use.
Optimal adjustment of the saddle
allow you to not feel any uncomfort.
Setting the bike to suit your
needs requires experience, suitable
tools and manual skills. All adjust-
ments should therefore be
made by a specialist mechanic.
As guideline, the right position of the
saddle is when your knee creates a
175° angle, in the maximum extension,
during the ride.
Do not use the bike if the seatpost is
set over the indicated mark. This mark
has to not be visible, otherwise may be
broken!
Bicicapace recommend to not cut the
seatpost and to tighten the collar to
the torque stated.
Stem
Bicicapace uses adjustable stems for
your own needs.
During the adjustment you have to
decide the inclination that offers you
maximum comfort while riding.
After changes in the handlebar
position, verify that the cables lenght
suits with the new conguration,
in order to not have danger while
braking.
Bad setting of handlebar could you
lose control of your bike while riding.
Any adjustment should therefore be
made by a specialist mechanic.
For indications on torque, refer to the
appropriate section.
After changes in inclination of the
stem is important to remember to
rotate the handlebar to make levers
and grips suit with the new position.

12
13
Brakes
Bicicapace’s brakes guarantee an high
braking power, even exerting slight
pressure.
While braking the burden shifts
forward, leaving weight from the back.
Sudden front brakes could ip or fall
down the bike, we recommend to use
always both brakes simultaneously to
stop the ride.
Don’t press the lever while wheel is
disassembled: brake pads could touch
each other compromising brakes
function or assembly.
We recommend to contact the
authorized dealer in case of difculty
in using or unusual noises of the
braking system to control every detail.
Brakes are one of the most crucial
part of the bike. Any negligence in
maintenance can lead to accidents.
Don’t press the brake lever when the
bike is laying on the side or upside
down. It could create air bubbles
which can make brakes stop working.
Pay attention to not put lubricants,
detergents or greases on the discs. I
makes brakes stop working.
Brakes’ liquid spillage can make
brakes stop working. If cables seem
damaged go immediately to the
authorized dealer to check the
problem.
We suggest to have a brakes’ coupon
within a moths since the purchase
date, because they need few time to
settle.
Roller brakes are provided with a hole
it needs to be lubricated by the proper
Shimano’s product, in order to not
compromise its functioning.
Wet pavement, presence of gravel or
other residue could need longer brake
time and can make the rider lose the
control of the bike.
For more extensive information on the
brakes system refer to the Shimano’s
manual.
Gear
Bicicapace uses Shimano Nexus
8v, Shimano Nexus 5v, Enviolo CA e
Enviolo TR, high quality gear that help
you in carrying heavy burden though
your daily ups and downs.
This kind of gear requires to shift while
you are not pedalling.
In Shimano Nexus, up or down shifting
is completed when you heard the
sound of mechanism.
In Enviolo gear, there is no sound but
the mechanism shifts silently and
progressively by rotating the grip.
Contact the authorized dealer for any
adjustment of the gear, it is a complex
process that has to be made by a
professional!
You can nd more detailed specs
about the gear on the manufacturer’s

Chain/Carbon belt
Chain’s wear can be accelerated by the
way of riding the bike.
It’s important to lubricate the chain
on regular basis, especially after
rainy days. Firstly remove dust or soil
residues using a rag, then lubricate
using exclusively products provided by
you local dealer.
The service life of the chain could last
also 1000 km. Please often check the
level of wear and change the chain
frequently.
It’s important to check on regular basis
the tension of the chain, if it’s not
tensioned enough, please contact the
authorized dealer.
Loose tension or bad assembly can
damage the chain.
Ask only the authorized dealer for
maintenance of the chain.
Please refer to the manufacturer’s
manual, if your model has carbon belt:
Drive unit and battery (Shima-
no and Bosch)
Bicicapace’s e-bikes use Shimano and
Bosch drive units.
Read carefully manufacturer’s manual
before getting on an e-bike.
Remember to check all the
information about battery and
charger.
Please contact the authorized dealer
for any question, doubt or problem
with the electrical system. Lack
of specic know-how can lead to
accidents.
In case of problems, remove the
battery before any other action, then
contact the authorized dealer.
Use always the ofcial charger for your
battery.
In case of electrical failure, battery
must not be charged and must stop
being used.
Charge the battery away from kids,
wet environment or ammable
material.
Do not ship batteries by yourself.
Batteries are considered dangerous
goods and can ignite during transport.
At low temperatures, e-bike autonomy
could be shorter. It’s a normal phe-
nomenon that can be solved returning
to high temperatures.
During winter days, we suggest to
charge the battery in a warm en-
vironment, in order to have longer
autonomy.
In cold weather we suggest to plan
shorter trips or ride with a lower level
of assistance.

Wheels and tires
Cargo bikes are subject to high
stresses.
After the rst 300 km, we suggest to
check the wheels by the authorized
dealer, and possibly centring them.
After that, check wheels on regular
basis.
Tires have to be inated to the pres-
sure recommended to have the best
performance.
The manufacturer indicate on the tire
the recommended pressure (in bar
and PSI).
Always check tires’ pressure.
Bike carrying high loads have to be
inated more than empty ones.
Read the following guidelines:
Big Ben tires uses an anti-puncture
technology.
Contact the authorized dealer for sug-
gestion about xing punctures, or nd
books about.
Make sure the rims are always round-
ed. Occasionally, pull up the bike and
spin the wheel to see if are contacts
with the frame or fenders.
In case of strange noise or frictions,
contact the authorized dealer to cen-
tre it.
Using not perfectly rounded rims can
lead to accidents!
Regularly check the tension of
spokes, if loose wheels could bend
leading to accidents!
Bicicapace mounts air chambers with
italian valves (or Regina valves).
Before inating, it may need to push
the plug before removing to make
some air get out and work better.

Stand
Bicicapace uses double stand to keep
your bicycle standing while you are
carrying it.
Ursus stand has to be frequently
ingreased (where legs rotate), in order
to work better and last longer.
Contact your bike mechanic in case
it gets harder to open and close the
stand.
Do not sit on the saddle and do not
move before the stand had been
closed. If not, it can break or bend or
the rider could get hurt.
Justlong steel stand seems harder
than plastic ones. It is, but we
still recommend not to do what
mentioned above.
Bicicapace uses ABUS lock.
Lock completely blocks the wheel.
Make sure you unlock the wheel
before starting riding. Riding locked
wheels could lead to accidents.
We suggest to combine this lock to
a high end U-lock to have the best
performance during long stops or in
risky zones.
Refer to ABUS manual for specic
information about ABUS technology
and how to use guide.
In Bicicapace Pro Series, the battery
key is the same as the lock.
Make sure to keep safe the key code
provided, to get a new one in case of
lost.

19
Bicicapace mounts Busch + MÜller or
Axa depending on version.
Refer to the manufacurer’s website for
information about lights.
Do not use Bicicapace with not
working lights. It can lead to
dangerous accidents!
We suggest the light to have the
centre of light zone 10 meters ahead
of your bike. Ask the authorized dealer
for any adjustment.
Lights Transport of goods
Bicicapace offers professional utility
bikes for everyday use.
Our goal is to offer functionality and
high driving comfort transports.
Maximum weights recommended
are intended to be carried by a person
with good riding skills.
We recommend to remember not to
carry burden over the wheelbase of
the bike.
Loads have to be secured to the rack
or atbed carefully in order to avoid
dangerous imbalance for sudden
movements.
Maximum recommended load:
Avoid or at least limit to carry burden
or kids out of the wheelbase (both in
the front and back) of the bike to have
higher stability and riding comfort.
Long tail bikes have better stability
and guarantee a higher load capaci-
ty under the same rider and burden
carried.
We recommend to keep the ratio be-
tween the load carried and the weight
of the rider between 0 and 1. Exceed-
ing this ratio, it will need to reduce
speed to maintain the same level of
security and control.
The so called “total weight” has
to be intended as “rider weight” +
“bike weight” + “baggage weight” +
“passenger weight”.

Transport of children
Before starting pedalling, check this
list:
•Is it the basket and seats correctly
secured?
•Is the kid in secure position to
avoid falls or slips?
•are you following weight
indications?
•Is the kid wearing the helmet?
•are spokes protected from
anything could get in?
•Is it the tire pressure correct?
•Is the weight within the
maximum allowed ?
•are the lights freely illuminating ?
Bicicapace offers different solutions
to carry kids thanks to special
accessories. Deciding to buy a model
than another one has to depend on
some factors:
• trafc rules of the country you are
going to use the bike
• number of children you need to
carry and corresponding weights
• rain accessories and appropriate
seats for the age of children
As recommended previously (“Good
transport”), it’s crucial that the rider
has sufcient condence in riding and
controlling the bike.
Setting in the right position the saddle
and, if necessary, reduce speed.
Transport of Bicicapace
By train: check transportation rules
before getting in, including possible
booking dispositions.
By plane: electric bikes are not
allowed to be carried on planes,
because lithium batteries are
classied as dangerous goods.
By car: take into consideration
the whole volume before carrying.
Immobilize the bike before using the
car. Bikes not secured properly can be
dangerous for people or other goods
inside the car. Before transport remove
the battery.
Moving bikes without wheels could
lead to damage to brakes.
Care instructions
Before maintenance or cleaning up, be
sure the battery has been removed
to avoid danger.
A bike purchased from the authorized
dealer is completely mounted and
ready to ride.
It’s necessary to have periodical
maintenance and cleaning in order to
make components last longer.
Do not use pressure washer or steam
cleaning system at close range.
Water can penetrate into seals leading
to damage for bearings.
Do not use detergents or chain oil
on brake’s seal or disc. It can lead to
accidents.
Make sure you have both sufcient
technical knowledge and right tools
for any kind of intervention on the
bike.
Store the bike in a dry and ventilated
environment, covering it with a towel.
Not using bike for long time could lead
wheels to lose pressure, check it before
using. Charge the battery of the stored
bike at 60% every 3 months of storage.
Go to the authorized dealer to have
a general check-up or ask him for
specic problems you noticed on the
bike.
Go to the authorized dealer in case of
strange noises or difculty in riding
or controlling the bike or using a
specic accessory comparing with the
purchasing situation.
Verify rules for front transport
of children in your country, as
well as age and weight limits.
Verify rules for back transport
of children in your country, as
well as age and weight limits.

Environmental tips
Inspections
Detergents:
During caring and cleaning up make
sure to protect the environment.
To do that we recommend to use
biodegradable product.
Do not leave used cleaners down the
drain.
Tires and inner tubes:
they are not domestic garbage and
have to be brought to the local landll
to be recycled.
E-bikes’ battery:
they are not domestic garbage. They
have to be considered as dangerous
materials, so must not be dumped by
yourself. Contact the authorized dealer
in case of dead battery.
Any bicycle is subjected to wear and
high stress. Different materials and
components have different reactions
to difering stresses.After the service
life, a component could suddenly fail,
causing accidents to the rider and
passengers.
Any type of cracking, surface
irregularity or discoloration in high
stress areas indicates that the
component is reaching the end of its
service life. Therefore the component
should be replaced.
After 300 km circa or at the latest 3
months from the purchasing date,
bring the bike to the authorized
dealer for the rst inspection.
After rst inspection, go check the
bike on regular basis.
We attach a table with date and
deadlines intended for cyclists who
ride 20/40 km a week. (pagg.24-25)
Riding many kilometres on dirty
roads or in humid and rainy climate
zones, it’s necessary to check the bike
more frequently.
We recommend to always ride your
bike carefully to make the bike last
longer.
Avoid holes and steps in the streets at
high speed.
