1. Introducon
This operang manual contains important informaon and warnings relang to all of the product’s life phases. We
therefore strongly advise that all people in the target groups menoned below read this document carefully before
assembly, commissioning and maintenance. Addionally, it must be ensured that the operang manual is available at
the place of use at all mes.
We reserve the right to make technical changes that are necessary for improvement to the illustraons and informaon
in this operang manual. Bijur Delimon retains the copyright to this operang manual. It contains regulaons and
drawings of a technical nature that may not be distributed, either in whole or in part, or used without authorisaon for
compeon purposes or communicated to others.
1.1 Target groups
This operang manual is intended for assembly, operang and maintenance personnel.
1.2 Required knowledge and qualicaons
Qualied mechanic
A person with suitable technical training, knowledge and experience who can recognise and prevent the hazards that
may occur during transport, assembly, commissioning, operaon, maintenance, repair and disassembly.
Qualied electrician
A person with suitable technical training, knowledge and experience who can recognise and prevent the hazards that
can be caused by electricity.
Operator
A trained person who, based on their knowledge and experience, is capable of commissioning and operang the
product. This also includes prevenng potenal hazards that may arise during operaon.

2. Safety
2.1 Introducon
This secon describes general and product-specic safety instrucons that must be observed and followed. Further
safety instrucons can be found at appropriate points in other secons of this operang manual. Please read this
secon carefully to understand the safety instrucons throughout this document and on the product itself.
2.2 Warnings, signs and symbols
This operang manual contains the following symbols according to DIN EN ISO 7010 to indicate health hazards and
property damage and how to avoid them. Failure to observe the safety instrucons may put people at risk.

2.3 General Safety Instrucons
o This operang manual must always be available at the machine’s / system’s place of use.
o This operang manual must be kept for further use.
o The described product was manufactured according to the current standards. However, unintended use could
potenally put people at risk or result in property damage.
o If safety-related faults occur, the product must be taken out of operaon immediately unl they have been
eliminated. In addion, the legal accident prevenon and environmental protecon regulaons must be
observed.
o Not only must the general safety instrucons listed under this main point entled ‘Safety’ be observed; the
special safety instrucons outlined under the other main points must be too.
o The product may only be used by qualied personnel, in a technically perfect condion and according to the
informaon and safety instrucons contained in this manual.
o Please read this operang manual carefully and familiarise yourself with the product and how it works. The
operang steps sequence must be observed.

2.4 Basic behavior when using the pump
o For the Mulport I to be operated, it must be in good working order, installed correctly and, if
necessary, connected to the electrical system by a professional. In the event of any uncertaines, operaon of
the Mulport I is prohibited unl the issues have been claried.
o Keep unauthorized or unqualied individuals away from the Mulport I.
o Observe internal company instrucons and relevant safety regulaons.
o Wear personal protecve equipment (PPE).
o Check protecve and safety equipment (e.g. pressure limitaon valves) regularly. They may not be removed or
tampered with in any way.
o If safety equipment is replaced, it must be immediately reinstalled and tested to ensure that it is working.
o Never use parts of the Mulport I or the connected central lubricaon system as a standing or
climbing aid.
2.5 Safety instrucons for maintenance, inspecon and assembly work
o The operaon, maintenance, inspecon and assembly personnel must be appropriately qualied for this work.
o The personnel’s area of responsibility, competence and supervision must be regulated by the operang
company. Operaonal precauons and work instrucons must be observed.
o The operang company must ensure that personnel understand the contents of the operang manual in full.
o Only work on the Mulport I when it is at a standsll, depressurized and disconnected from the
mains (secured against accidental restart).
o All safety and protecve equipment must be reaached or put back into operaon as soon as the work is
completed.
o Product transport requires suitable transport and liing equipment. Use marked paths.
o Maintenance and repair work should preferably be carried out at room temperature. The lubricant’s ow
properes change at low or high temperatures.
o Dry wet, slippery surfaces or cover them as appropriate.
o Cover hot or cold surfaces as appropriate.
o Work on electrical components may only be carried out by qualied electricians using suitable tools and when
the components are de-energized. The valid wiring diagram and local regulaons must be observed.
o Do not touch cables or electrical components with wet hands or cloths.
o Do not bypass fuses. Always use the same fuse type in the event of replacement.
o Ensure that the protecve earthing conductor is connected correctly.
o Observe ghtening torques (if specied). Use a calibrated torque wrench when ghtening.
o Label individual parts aer disassembly to avoid mixing them up.
2.6 Safety instrucons for operang company
o If hot or cold machine parts lead to hazards, the customer must secure these parts against contact.
o Eliminate leaks so that people and the environment are not put at risk. Legal regulaons must be observed.
o Take all necessary measures to eliminate the possibility of hazards caused by electrical energy (for details, see
the regulaons set down by the Associaon for Electrical, Electronic & Informaon Technologies (VDE) and
local power supply companies).

o Risk of product falling causing damage, take care when handling the Mulport I.

All labels on the pump must be legible at all mes.
2.9 Type Plate
The type plate contains important specicaons for idenfying the pump. This must always be legible.
2.10 General safety instrucons for handling lubricants
Lubricants perform dierent tasks and are selected specically for the applicaon. Lubricants’ main funcons are:
o Reducing fricon and wear
o Protecng against corrosion
o Reducing noise
o Protecng against dirt or foreign maer
o Extending the service life of bearings, chains, etc.
o Cooling

2.10.1 Selecng lubricants
Lubricants are usually selected during machines and systems design phase. They are selected by the machine
manufacturer or, if appropriate, the machine operang company. The product’s operang temperature or the ambient
temperature must also be taken into account. Bijur Delimon takes the lubricant specicaon into account during the
project planning process and when selecng suitable central lubricaon components. If the lubricant is a non standard
and if you do not have any relevant experience with regard to the compability of the given lubricant in automac
lubricaon systems, Bijur Delimon also oers preliminary tests to assess the compability of the given lubricant.
Material compability:
The lubricants to be used must generally be compable with the following materials and seals:
Materials: Steel, brass, copper, aluminium
Seals: NBR, FPM, FKM, ABS, PA, PU
Only lubricants specied for the product (see the secon 3.3 entled ‘Technical data’) may be used.
Unsuitable lubricants can lead to funconal failure of the product or the enre system.
Do not mix lubricants. This has an impact on the lubricang properes and compability, and thus on the
central lubricaon system’s funcon.
F When handling lubricants, the relevant safety data sheets and, if applicable, the hazard labels on the
packaging must be observed
2.10.2 Lubricant ageing
If lubricants are stored in tanks or lines for an extended period of me, e.g. due to machine downme, ageing
phenomena may occur (e.g. separated lubricant components). Before pung the machine / system back into operaon,
check whether the lubricant is sll suitable for use. If necessary, the lubricant must be replaced before the machine /
system is put back into operaon.
2.11 Foreseeable misuse
Misuse is considered to be unintended use, especially in the following cases:
o Operaon outside the specied operang temperature range.
o Overriding or removing safety equipment (e.g. pressure relief valve)
o Adding and feeding unspecied or contaminated lubricants
o Adding and feeding lubricants that require wrien approval from Bijur Delimon or are generally prohibited (e.g.
hazardous substances or food fat)
o Foreign bodies in the lubricant tank
o Operaon in corrosive / aggressive environments without an enclosure
o Operaon under ambient condions that require compliance with special guidelines (not menoned in the
manual) e.g. in potenally explosive areas (ATEX)
o Selecng an unsuitable installaon site
o Tampering on the Mulport I
o Replacing original components or spare parts with non-Bijur Delimon components and parts.

2.12 Product modicaons
The lubricator assembly may only be converted or modied following consultaon with the manufacturer. Genuine
spare parts and accessories authorised by the manufacturer are designed to keep users safe. Use of other parts may
invalidate the liability for consequenal damages.
2.13 The operang company’s obligaons
The operang company must guarantee the prerequisites for safe and proper use of the Mulport I throughout its
enre life cycle. These are described again in detail below.
2.13.1 Determining hazards
Installing the Mulport I in a machine or system belonging to the operang company may cause a more complex hazard
situaon. It is the operang company’s responsibility to determine all hazards at the place of use and necessary
counter-measures to ensure safety and health protecon.
2.13.2 Personnel qualicaon and training
The operang company shall ensure that all people authorised to use the Mulport I have the necessary knowledge and
qualicaons before they use it for the rst me. It shall ensure that this operang manual and any associated
documents are accessible at all mes and that the contents of the same are read and understood. It shall also regulate
the responsibilies of assembly, operaon and maintenance personnel.
2.13.3 Providing personal protecve equipment
The operang company must provide personal protecve equipment that is suitable for the relevant place and purpose
of use.
2.13.4 Instrucon external assembly ers
Before being deployed, external assembly ers must be brought to the same required level of knowledge as the
operang company’s own personnel. This includes all of the product informaon and safety instrucons described in
this document, as well as safety regulaons and accident prevenon regulaons issued by the operang company.
2.13.5 Tesng and ensuring proper use
The operang company shall ensure that the Mulport I is being used as intended by taking suitable, periodic inspecon
measures. The periodic inspecon should at least include:
o Funcon of the Mulport I and safety equipment
o Checking for unauthorized tampering or conversion
o Legibility of all labels and the type plate
o Cleanliness of the tank contents, the Mulport I and also the surrounding area (including the
lubricant storage area)
o Condion of the electrical installaon
2.13.6 How to behave in emergency situaons
The operang company must ensure that the Mulport I is shut down quickly in an emergency. To stop the Mulport I,
the power supply must be interrupted – for example by pressing an emergency shutdown switch on the manufacturers
machine. Personnel must be trained in the procedures to be followed in an emergency.

2.14 Dangers if the safety instrucons are not observed
Failure to observe the safety instrucons may result in personal injury as well as potenal damage to the environment
and the machine. In detail, failure to observe the safety instrucons may result in the following hazards, for example:
o Failure of key machine / system funcons
o Failure of prescribed maintenance and repair methods
o People being put at risk due to electrical, mechanical and chemical eects
o The environment potenally being polluted due to hazardous substances leaking
Failure to observe the safety instrucons may lead to any warranty claims void.
2.15 Residual risks
The operang company must guarantee the prerequisites for safe and proper use of the pump throughout its enre life
cycle. These are described again in detail below.

3 Product Descripon
3.1 Introducon
The MulPort I Lubricator is a rugged, motor-driven, electric lubricator, equipped with xed or adjustable output
pumping elements to discharge grease or oil over a wide operang range. Low level switches are oponal on this
compact unit. Up to three independent feed lines can be used with the MulPort I Lubricator. A selecon of mers and
controller/monitors are available to program MulPort I Lubricators.
3.2 Intended use
The Mulport I lubricator described below is intended for commercial use to supply lubricant to industrial machines and
systems. The Mulport I lubricator may only be used by qualied operators. The Mulport I lubricator is already
funconal when connected to a power supply.
The following is also required for intended use:
o Connecng line (pipe or hose) from the Mulport I lubricator outlet to at least one suitable lubricaon
point (e.g. bearing or chain) on an exisng machine or system
o Lubricant that is free from contaminaon and suitable for feeding with the described Mulport I lubricator
according to the specicaon in this operang manual
o Compliance with all specicaons, safety instrucons and general instrucons
The Mulport I lubricator described may also be part of a more complex central lubricaon system. The compability of
all system components must be ensured (e.g. operang pressure, approved lubricants, temperature range, etc.).
Any use that extends beyond this is considered unintended use. The manufacturer is not liable for any damage resulng
from this; the risk is borne solely by the operang company. The using of substances that are classied as hazardous
(according to the CLP Regulaon 1272/2008) is only allowed following consultaon with and wrien conrmaon from
Bijur Delimon.
3.3 Revision Level
The revision status of the Mulport I lubricator will be kept up to date by the Manufacturer’s Engineering department.
The part no, reservoir capacity and motor voltage are all shown on the nameplate which is adhered to the front center
of the reservoir. See image below of such a nameplate.

3.7 Technical Details
3.7.1 Mulitport I lubricator
3.7.1.1 General
The Mulport I Lubricator is an automac, robust and durable pump. Its compact size is designed to t your space
requirements and lubricaon demands. The Mulport I Lubricator is a self-contained electric motor-driven gear pump
that can adapt to a broad range of producon machinery.
The Mulport I pump’s versality also allows it to perform with other lubricaon system types and mulple applicaons.
3.7.1.2 Features

o Low level switch for fail safe operaon
o Three outlet posions (1 outlet standard, can add 1 or 2 outlets for up to three outlets)
o Plasc and metal reservoirs available
o Male ller ng, quick disconnect plug for grease versions/ll cap for oil versions

3.7.1.3 Operaon
Power supplied to a motor with gear box drives a precision eccentric cam which engages with the spring load piston
elements. This acon creates a sucon and pressure stroke of the element(s), thereby displacing a xed volume of
lubricant through an outlet check valve. Lubricant is discharged through main line tubing to a series progressive divider
valve and on to mulple lubricaon points. The grease pump elements include a relief valve preset to 240 bar(3600psi)
(Oil pump relief is 180bar(2900psi)) which relieves mainline pressure.
3.7.2 Pump Outlet Elements
3.7.2.1 General
The Mulport I pumps are supplied as xed type standard. Adjustable type are available sold separate.
