find it if you’ve forgotten
where you put it.
1 Installation
You need one battery pack (NiMH, 3.6v, 300mAh) for each handset.
To fit the batteries
1 Open the battery
compartment cover.
2 Insert the plug in the
connector, as shown.
Tuck the wires in and lay the
battery pack in the
compartment
3 Fit the battery compartment
cover, sliding it into place
and pressing firmly to make
sure it is secure
Warnings
Dispose of used batteries safely never try to burn them
or put them anywhere they could get burnt or punctured.
When you are not going to use your Icarus 1210 for a few
weeks, take the batteries out so they do not leak
corrosive substances.
Do not leave dead batteries in your handset they might
leak if you do.

When the battery level is low during a call, you will hear the low battery
tone in the earpiece every minute.

When the handset goes out of range of the base unit, you will hear the
Out of Range Tone in the earpiece every 12 seconds. You must return in
range of the base soon otherwise the call will be dropped.

the following setps:
Press and holdthe Base Page key for4 seconds until it
gives a doublebeep. The base will then bein
registration mode for20 seconds.

Memory Full
If the machine's memory is full, the answering machine will answer
after 12 rings and send a beep.
The line will release after about 10 seconds, unless you enter your
security code to enter remote operation.
To clear some memory, delete unwanted messages by pressing 4 as
the messages play.
To switch the answering machine on remotely
Call up your answering machine. (You will need to be phoneing
from a Tone Dialling phone, or have a Tone Dialler Pad.)
The answering machine will answer after 12 rings and send
three beep.
Enter your security code.
The call is cut off immediately, but the answering machine will
be turned on.
The Binatone Icarus 1210 is guaranteed for 12 months from the date
of purchase shown on your sales receipt. The Guarantee does not cover
damage by misuse or negligence, or by excessive voltages for
example, faults on the telephone line, or lightning.
Please keep your sales (till) receipt this is your guarantee. You
should also keep the original packaging material.
In the unlikely event that you need to return your Icarus 1210 to our
Repair Centre while it is under guarantee, there will be a 5 handling
charge.
7 Guarantee and service
Disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and the mains
electricity supply
Pack up all parts of your Icarus 1210, using the original packaging.
Remember to include the mains Adapter
Return the unit to the shop where you bought it, making sure you take
your sales receipt
While the unit is under Guarantee
If the unit is no longer under Guarantee, first follow steps 1and 2as for
repair under Guarantee. Then . . .
Call our Service Department on 0845 345 9677 and ask for a quotation
of the repair charge and details of where to send your Icarus 1210 for
repair
Make sure you include with your Icarus 1210:
your name and address
a cheque or postal order for the value of the repair charge
Return your Icarus 1210 to the address given by the Service Department
