Safety Instructions
Dangers of Injury
❐Caution! Danger of suffocation from swallowing! Keep the device, batteries
and ear cushions out of the reach of small children and animals.
❐Batteries can be deadly if swallowed. If a battery is swallowed, seek
medical assistance immediately.
❐Danger of damage to hearing! A high volume which impinges on your ears
for a lengthy period of time can cause permanent hearing damage. Set a low
volume before you turn on the sound amplifier. Then set a sound level that you
find pleasant.
❐Do not use the sound amplifier if your environment requires a particular
level of attention (e.g. when performing skilled manual tasks).
❐The sound amplifier generates magnetic fields. They may interfere with
pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). The distance
between these devices and the earphones should therefore be at least 10 cm.
If you believe that a pacemaker or another medical device is suffering
interference, switch the sound amplifier off immediately and contact the
manufacturer of the pacemaker or other medical device.
The Proper Handling of Batteries
❐The battery must not be inserted/replaced by children.
❐Before inserting the battery, check whether the contacts in the battery
compartment and on the battery are clean, and clean them if necessary.

3
❐Use only the battery type specified in the technical data. Use
high-performance alkaline batteries. When replacing batteries, note the correct
polarity (+/–).
❐Take the battery out of the battery compartment when it is dead or if you
will not be using the device for a prolonged period. This will prevent any
damage that might occur if a battery leaks.
❐If the battery has leaked, do not allow battery acid to come into contact with
your skin, eyes, or mucous membranes. If you touch battery acid, rinse the
affected sites with abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as
soon as possible.
❐Remove a dead battery from the battery compartment immediately and
clean the contacts before you insert a new battery.
❐The batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other means, must
not be dismantled, thrown into a fi re, immersed in fluids or short-circuited.
Proper Use
❐Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide temperature
fluctuations, open fire, direct sunlight, moisture or wet conditions.
❐Treat the device with care and store it in a clean location that is free of dust.
❐Switch the device off after you have finished using it to conserve the
battery.
❐Do not use the device when bathing or showering. Do not immerse it in
water or other liquids.
❐Always check the device and accessories for damage before putting them
into operation. Do not use the device if it shows obvious signs of damage. Do
not try to repair the device yourself or to replace any individual parts. In the
event of any damage, contact our customer service department.
❐In the event of damage/faults, switch the device off immediately.
❐Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.

Attaching the Ear Cushions
PLEASE NOTE!
❐For reasons of hygiene, ear cushions should only be used by one person.
Otherwise they should be thoroughly cleaned before they are passed on to
others (see the "Cleaning" chapter).

Use
WARNING!
❐Danger of damage to hearing! A high volume which impinges on your ears
for a lengthy period of time can cause permanent hearing damage. Set a low
volume before you put on the sound amplifier. Then set a level of sound
amplification that you find pleasant.
❐Interference from magnetic fields! The sound amplifier generates magnetic
fields. They may interfere with pacemakers and implantable cardioverter
defibrillators (ICDs). Always maintain a distance of at least 10 cm between
these devices and the earphones.
1. Turn the volume control to a low volume.
2. Slide the On/Off switch to the ON position.
3. Put the sound amplifier on in such a way that the microphone is directed
away from you. Make sure that the ear cushions fit well in your auditory canals
and do not press too hard or sit too loosely. Either would reduce your ability to
hear. Change the ear cushions if necessary (see the "Attaching the Ear
Cushions" chapter).
4. Use the volume control to set a level of sound amplification that is sufficient
and pleasant for you.
If you hear an excessively loud background noise (feedback), reduce the
volume until the noise disappears.
5. Switch off the noise amplifier after use (move the On/Off switch to
the OFF position) and place it in the stand supplied with the device.
6. Clean the ear cushions regularly (see the "Cleaning" chapter).
Cleaning
CAUTION!
❐Liquid may destroy the device! Keep the sound amplifier away from water or
other liquids. Only the ear cushions may be cleaned with water. However, they
must be completely dry before they are attached to the device.
❐The ear cushions are neither machine-washable, dishwasher-safe nor
suitable for tumble drying! Only ever dry the ear cushions in the air, and never
use a hair dryer to do so.

6
❐Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean
the device and accessories.
❐However, if the ear cushions are damaged or worn, they must be replaced.
• Switch off the device before cleaning it.
• Carefully remove the ear cushions from the earphones. Clean the ear
cushions with warm soapy water and then rinse them thoroughly with clear
water. Dry the ear cushions in the air.
•Clean the sound amplifier if necessary using a damp, soft cloth. Dry it with a
soft cloth. Troubleshooting
If the device is not working properly, please check first of all whether you are
able to rectify a problem yourself. Otherwise you should contact the customer
service department. Do not attempt to repair a defective device yourself!
