Lamp Change Instructions
for IceZone® X

| Lamp Change
There are two reasons to change the lamp in the
IceZone® X:
1) The lamp has reached its useful life after
9000 hours and needs to be changed to
maintain the effectiveness of the IceZone® X.
In this case the status indicator light will show
a steady red color.
2) The lamp is operating in a contaminated
environment and needs to be changed to
maintain the effectiveness of the IceZone® X.
In this case the status indicator light will show
a steady blue (normal) color but should be
check every 3 months.

Precautions to observe when changing the lamp
in the IceZone® X:
1) Allow the lamp to cool for 5 minutes before
attempting to remove the lamp from the
IceZone® X.
2) Do not touch the glass section of the lamps.
If this section is touched it should be wiped
immediately with isopropyl alcohol. The
lamp will be damaged if it is contaminated.
3) The lamp should be disposed of according to
local hazardous waste disposal ordinances.
The lamp contains mercury vapor which can
be harmful to humans and animals. The lamp
may be returned to BioZone Scientific in the
packaging provided with the new lamp.

Unplug the wall adapter
from the wall to turn off
the IceZone® unit
Remove the service cover
from the IceZone® unit by
removing the cover
retaining screw.

Unplug the DC plug
to ensure the
IceZone® unit is not
connected to power.

Remove the lamp
plug.

Remove the lamp by
grasping the white
ceramic insulator.
Caution: See safety
recommendations at
the beginning of this
presentation
regarding handling of
the lamp.

Pull the lamp out of
the IceZone®
completely.

Install the new lamp
by inserting into the
IceZone® by grasping
the white ceramic
insulator.

Reconnect the lamp
connector being sure
to observe the
orientation of the
pins. If the connector
does not connect
easily, rotate 90
degrees and try
again.
The lamp pin pattern
is not square

Reconnect the DC
power connector

| Lamp Change
Reinstall the service cover
on the IceZone® unit by
inserting the cover
retaining screw.
Turn on the IceZone® unit
by plugging the wall
adapter into the wall
outlet.
Important! : Reset the
lamp life counter by
holding down the reset
tool in the reset hole at
the center of the lighted
ring for 10 seconds.
