2. Introduction
2.1 Overview
Use the USB Data Switch to combine different USB
systems in a single system. For example, share one USB
device, such as a printer, between two or four PCs simply
by turning a knob.
High-quality soldered wires make switching reliable
every time. An anti-skid rubber foot keeps the switch in
place.
The USB Data Switch also features easy plug-and-play
operation and requires no power.
2.2 Package Contents
When you order the USB Data Switch, you should
receive one 2-Way (IC195A) or one 4-Way (IC196A)
Switch and this user’s manual. If anything is missing or
damaged, please call us at (724) 746-5500.

3. Installation
Use USB cables (our part number USB01) to connect
the USB Data Switch to the PCs, hub (USB Director, our
part number IC165A), and selected devices such as
printers, tape drives, or cameras. Keep in mind that only
one PC may access any of the connected USB devices at
a time.
Make sure you don’t exceed maximum lengths. (The
maximum cable length for USB is 15 ft. [4.6 m] between
any two active devices.)
