CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
• Before cleaning, always unplug your
pressure cooker and let it cool to
room temperature.
• The inner pot and the lid are both
dishwasher safe.
• Wash the inner pot and lid with a
gentle detergent after removing
them from the base.
• Rinse off with water and then gently wipe
dry with a dish towel or cloth.
• Separate the sealing ring and anti-block
shield from the bottom of the lid.
Repeat washing instructions for inner pot
and lid.
• Make sure the sealing ring is always in the
appropriate position on the underside of
the lid.
• To wash the outside of the cooker, wipe it
with a damp sponge or cloth.
• Do not use scouring pads, powders or
chemical detergents on the cooker.
• Check the steam release and oat valves
regularly to ensure that they are clean
and undamaged.
CAUTION:
Always keep the heating element dry.
Do not immerse cooker base in
water or the dishwasher.
Do not immerse power cord in
water or other liquids.
SAFTEY AND COOKING TIPS
• Use caution while putting the steam
release handle in the venting position.
Keep your hands and face away from the
steam by keeping them clear of the steam
release openings. Severe injuries
can occur.
• The pressure inside the cooker MUST be
fully released before any attempt to open
the lid. The lid will remain locked until the
oat valve drops down. Never force the
lid open.
• The inner pot may stick to the lid due to
suction caused by cooling. Press and
hold Quick Release but for 3 seconds. The
natural vacuum should then release itself.
• If the oat valve becomes stuck, press and
hold the Quick Release button. After the
steam has cleared, move the oating valve
down using a long stick or pen.
• You must add at least 8 oz/250 ml of
liquid for enough steam to be produced
to cook under pressure. Suitable liquids
include cooking sauces, beer or wine, fruit
or vegetable juice, and broths. Oils and oil-
based sauces will not meet the minimum
liquid requirements as their water content
is too low.
• Large quantities of food, or food that has
frozen or chilled, will need more time to
cook than small amounts of food, or food
that is at room temperature.
• Always allow adequate time for cooling
before serving after using the Delay
Start program.
• We do not recommend the Delay Start
program be used when cooking frothy,
thick liquids such as porridge or oatmeal,
and advise you to keep watch on
these foods.
