BlueSecureTM Access Point (BSAP-1840) Product Overview
The Bluesocket BSAP-1840 802.11a/b/g/n Access Point is
ideally suited for organizations moving toward true enterprise
mobility. Designed for environments and applications
that require high capacity, scale and speed, the BSAP-1840
provides predictable and reliable WLAN coverage, improving
client performance and end-user experience.
Leveraging Bluesocket’s technology leadership position with
high throughput/coverage solutions, the BSAP-1840 platform is
engineered to support the requirements of high-speed WLAN
technologies and emerging bandwidth intensive and latency
sensitive applications such as VoIP and VoIP over Wi-Fi,
wireless video distribution and high performance data solutions.
The BSAP-1840 includes two 11n-based radios, 6 R-SMA
Connectors for external antennas and GigE port to support dual
concurrent 40Mhz streams delivering market leading
coverage and throughput. BSAP-1840 is able to support the
802.3af power standard and deliver full-feature performance
with a single-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) solution.
The BSAP-1840 is able to support the 802.3af power standard and deliver full 11n performance with a single-
port Power over Ethernet (PoE) solution, which means customers do not have to make the trade-offs between
performance, security, and other critical wireless network functions forced by other solutions.

BlueSecure Access Points work in conjunction with and extend the enterprise-class WLAN security and
management capabilities provided by Bluesocket’s centralized controller software. BlueSecure Access
Points automatically congure across any L2/L3 network using the Bluesocket Discovery Protocol, allowing
easy upgrades when new features, capabilities or standards emerge, ensuring a longer life span without any
physical intervention.
The BSAP-1840 is also available in 802.11a/b/g mode and can be upgraded to full 802.11n using an 802.11n license.
This option gives customers the option to invest in 11n hardware today and 11n software when their budget permits.
