Bogen SCW20 User manual

The Bogen Models SCW20 and SCW35 are heavy-
duty sound columns designed for sound reinforce-
ment in churches, theaters, auditoriums, and similar
installations where it is necessary to cover a large
area with a minimum number of speakers.The sound
column consists of a vertical array of speakers in a
specially-designed rectangular enclosure, and pro-
vides a more effective length of throw than conven-
tional speakers, as well as a highly directional sound
dispersion pattern for reduced reflection from the
floor and ceiling of the hall.The precisely controlled
dispersion pattern of these sound columns makes
possible a maximum of uniformity in coverage of the
desired area with minimum sound projected into
undesired areas.
The sound columns are constructed of sturdy parti-
cle board, acoustically lined and finished in a simulat-
ed oiled walnut.The removable rear panel (for access
to the cone speakers) contains a polarized screw-
terminal strip and mounting plate for line-matching
transformers.

The sound column shall be a Bogen Model SCW20,
or approved equivalent. It shall contain four 5-inch
cone speakers and shall have an input impedance of
8 ohms. The cabinet shall be sturdily constructed of
3/8-inch particle board, acoustically lined, and finished
in simulated oiled walnut, with a black grille.
The column shall have a (continuous) wattage rating
of 20 watts. Maximum sound pressure level, mea-
sured four (4) feet on axis with 1watt input shall be
100dB. The frequency response shall be from 80 to
14kHz. Dispersion shall be 45° in the vertical plane
and 90° in the horizontal plane.
The removable rear panel shall provide a polarized
screw-terminal strip and plate for mounting a line-
matching transformer. Dimensions shall be 7-1/2"W
x 20"H x 4-1/2"D; shipping weight shall be 12 lbs.
SCW35
The sound column shall be a Bogen Model SCW35,
or approved equivalent. It shall contain six 6-inch
cone speakers and shall have an input impedance of
8 ohms. The cabinet shall be sturdily constructed of
1/2-inch particle board, acoustically lined, and fin-
ished in simulated oiled walnut, with a black grille.
The column shall have a (continuous) wattage rating
of 35 watts. Maximum sound pressure level, mea-
sured four (4) feet on axis with 1watt input shall be
105dB. The frequency response shall be from 70 to
16kHz. Dispersion shall be 25° in the vertical plane
and 120° in the horizontal plane.
The removable rear panel shall provide a polarized
screw-terminal strip and plate for mounting a line-
matching transformer. Dimensions shall be 9-1/2"W
x 42"H x 5-1/4"D; shipping weight shall be 26 lbs.
