PRODUCTDESCRIPTION
TheLTC8782/XX-01 isa BoschtoViconcode translatordesigned to permitcontrol ofViconVPS
systemreceivers fromBoschAllegiantcontrollers.It receivesBosch biphasecode andtransmits
theappropriate commandsin ViconRS-422format. Thereare fourindependent Vicon outputs.
The translator is contained in a standard 19" electronic housing (one rack unit high). Input and
outputconnectionsare madewithremovablescrew terminals.Frontpanel LEDs indicatestatusof
power,receive, andtransmit.
Internalconfiguration switchesare usedto setthe operationof thecode translator.
Boschcamera addressesare converted to one ofsixteen Viconaddress groupsof 256.
TheVicon RS-422output canbe either9600 baudor 4800baud.

To install the case on the rack mount frame, remove the front panel and the plastic bezel. The
rack mount frame takes the place of the bezel as shown below.

To set the configuration switches, remove the back panel which is secured by two screws. Then
slide the cover back to expose the switches. The switches can be changed with power ON and
the new settings will take affect immediately.

Becauseof thedifferent natureofBosch andVicon codestructure, the indicatorswill showdiffer-
ent patterns. The Rx indicator will flicker while Bosch biphase code is being received. (If the
polarity is reversed, it should not light.) The Tx indicator will flash only when the Vicon output
commandchanges. Thusif youinitiate aBoschpan command,the Rxinidicator shouldflicker as
longas thejoystickis deflected,butthe Txindicator willflashonly atthestart ofthe pan andagain
atthe end,or wheneverthe speedis changed.
TheRx indicatorwill alsoindicate ifBoschis sendingdata otherthan cameracontrol commands.

OPERATION
Bosch pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and iris commands are converted to the appropriate Vicon com-
mands.
Boschpre-position commands"Set" &"Shot" 1thru99 areconverted toVicon "Progam"& "Run"
commands.
SinceBosch auxcommands are repeating, high pre-positioncommands areused forVicon
togglingcommands accordingto thefollowing table.
