2Product Identification
2.1 Main Function
The Bosch TRACI Tag is part of the the Bosch Asset Tracing Solution (hereafter referred to as
“TRACI”). TRACI is a system solution for remote localization and monitoring of vehicles, machiner y
and goods. TRACI comprises hardware, software (e.g. App) and services (e.g. connectivity, cloud
services). The Bosch TRACI Tag is the major hardware component of the system.
The Bosch TRACI Tag is a robust, durable and retrofittable Internet of Things (“IoT”) unit. It records
and transmits sensor data to a cloud via various radio standards. For all vehicles. machinery and
goods that are fitted with the Bosch TRACI Tag, the system is able to provide, exchange and visualize
information regarding position and operating conditions.
The customer must ensure that the Bosch scope of delivery complies with the requirements on the
functional safety within the overall system. It is the customer’s responsibility to validate these
documented requirements, their implementation and the assumptions made for this purpose.
The Bosch TRACI Tag is only avaible in combination with a Bosch Asset Tracing Solution
contracting. The contracting includes the “Terms of Service”, “Data Privacy Statements” and
“Contracting for Order Data Processing” (“ODP”).

4.8 .2 Mounting
To provide on-board sensor technology’s functionality throughout the entire service life, a permanent
connection between the two housing bushings of the Bosch TRACI Tag and the tagged vehicle,
machine or other asset is necessary.
When mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag, please
make sure that the side with the Bosch Logo is
facing upwards.
To mount of the Bosch TRACI Tag, use M6
scre
ws strength class 8.8 with a ZnNi
coating. The tightening torque should be
9Nm±2Nm. The maximum pre load force of
10kN may not be exceeded. For any affixing
of the Bosch TRACI Tag deviating from this,
it has to be made sure that this connection
bears all loads occurring during usage.
The Bosch TRACI Tag’s housing may only touch
the mounting surface in the zones of the housing
bushings. For this reason, the evenness of the
mounting surface must be ensured. Also, the
mounting of the Bosch TRACI Tag at the two
fixing points must be carried out on the same
mounting structure.
Notice
Mounting the Device
The Bosch TRACI Tag should be mounted in unshielded conditions. It should be mounted more
than 3m away from any atenna.
The responsibility for the device’s permanent fixation to the tagged vehicle, machine or other
asset throughout the entire service life lies with the customer.
Mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag with rivets is not permitted.
The use of washers or spacers sleeves between the housing bushing and screw-on
surface is not permitted.
Mounting the Bosch TRACI Tag simultaneously on 2 or more diffe re nt
surfaces/structures is not permitted.
The material the Bosch TRACI tag gets fixated on has to be sufficiently corrosion-
resistant and has to ensure the safe fixation throughout the entire service life.
Note, that the loads can strongly vary depending on the machine type to be monitored, the
place of action, the installation location, the means of transport and so on.
Info
Accessories
Screws and tools must be purchased separately.

4.8 .5 Storage
The optimal storage temperature range is 0°C to 40°C.
Do not store the Bosch TRACI Tag in a place where it is exposed to direct sunlight, high temperatures,
or sources of heat. Failure to do so could result in battery leakage, overheating, or damage. This can
result in burns or other injuries.
No special safety procedures apply to the storage of lithium batteries with low power. For the storage
of larger amounts attention has to be paid on the regulations for fire prevention (e.g. no storage with
other products and the storeroom is to be monitored by a fire detector).
