The
Bose
®
Sound
Dock
®
10
8/uetoottr
dock
adds
8/uetooth
wireless
tech-
nology
capability
to
your
Sound
Dock
10
digital
music
system.
After
installing
this
accessory,
you
can
listen
to
music
from
your
Bluetooth
device
with
high-quality,
room-filling
sound.
To
experience
the
intended
performance,
your
8/uetooth
device
must
support
the
Blue
tooth
Advanced
Audio
Distribution
Profile
(A2DP).
Installing
the
dock
0
Disconnect
the
system
power
cord
from
the
AC
outlet.
A.
Lift
up
the
back
edge
of
the
universal
dock
adapter
(A)
and
remove
it
from
the
dock.
You
may
need
to
insert
a
thin
non-metallic
utensil
into
the
slot
to
provide
the
required
leverage
to
lift
the
back
edge.

Press
the
dock
release
button
(B)
on
the
right
and
lift
up
(C)
the
right
side
of
the
dock
to
remove
it.
C.
There
is
a
small
indent
on
the
button
if
you
need
to
use
a
pen
to
press
the
button
in
far
enough
to
fully
release

first-time

you
connect
your
8/uetooth

Connecting
with
other
Bluetooth
devices

Press
and
hold
the
8/uetooth
button
on
the
dock
or
the
dock
button
on
the
remote
control
until
the
8/uetooth
light
starts
flashing.
Then
follow
Steps
3
A-D
above.
You
can
change
the
connection
to
another
device
by
activating
the
discoverable
mode
again.
You
can
connect
to
only
one
device
at
a
time.

Behaviors
0
The
data
transfer
light
on
the
dock
tells
you
how
well
the
Bose
Bluetooth
dock
is
receiving
data
from
your
device.
•
If
your
8/uetooth
device
becomes
disconnected
because
it
is
out
of
range,
the
dock
automatically
tries
to
reconnect
with
it
(the
8/uetooth
light
flashes
during
reconnection).
If
the
Sound
Dock
10
system
cannot
restore
a
connection
within
five
minutes,
it
turns
off.
·To
disconnect,
press
Off
on
the
Bose
SoundDock
10
remote,
or
use
the
disconnect
command
in
your
phone.
•
To
reconnect
when
your
system
is
off,
press
any
remote
key
except
Off
or
AUX
to
turn
on
the
system.
The
Sound
Dock
10
system
then
automatically
tries
to
connect
with
the
most
recently
connected
phone.
•
For
automatic
reconnection,
the
system
remembers
the
last
six
connected
devices.

Troubleshooting
Cannot
connect
device
to
the
dock
•
Make
sure
your
Sound
Dock
10
system
is
connected
to
AC
power.
•
Make
sure
the
Bose
8/uetooth
dock
is
in
discoverable
mode
(8/uetooth
light
is
flashing).
If
not,
press
and
hold
the
8/uetooth
button
on
the
dock
until
the
8/uetooth
light
starts
flashing.
•
Make
sure
the
8/uetooth
feature
is
turned
on
in
your
device.
For
details,
refer
to
the
owner's
guide
for
your
device.
•
Move
your
device
closer
to
the
Sound
Dock
10
system.
•
Go
to
http://owners.Bose.com
on
the
Internet
•
No
sound
·Make
sure
the
Sound
Dock
10
system
and
your
device
are
turned
on.
•
Make
sure
you
have
a
8/uetooth
connection
(8/uetooth
light
is
on).
•
Move
your
device
closer
to
the
Sound
Dock
10
system.
•
Turn
up
the
device
volume
as
high
as
possible.
·Turn
up
the
Sound
Dock
10
system
volume.
Sound
is
dropping
out
or
breaking
up
•
Move
your
device
or
Sound
Dock
10
system
away
from
anything
that
generates
electromagnetic
radiation,
such
another
8/uetooth
device,
a
microwave
oven,
or
a
wireless
computer
network
router.
•
Remove
any
physical
obstruction
lying
between
your
phone
and
the
Sound
Dock
10
system.
•
Change
the
location
of
your
device
and/or
the
Sound
Dock
10
system.
Poor
sound
quality
•
Move
your
device
closer
to
the
system
or
to
a
different
location.
•
Move
your
device
away
from
any
household
device
that
generates
electromagnetic
radiation,
such
as
a
microwave
oven,
another
8/uetooth
device,
or
a
wireless
computer
network
router.
•
Reduce
the
number
of
applications
running
on
your
device.
•
Increase
the
volume
on
your
device.

Getting Started
Place
the
system on a
firm
and level surface.
0 Plug
the
small end
of
the
AC
power
cord
into
the
AC
power
connector
on
the
back
of
the
unit.
8 Plug
into
AC
(mains)
power
outlet.
You
will
hear a
short
tone
indicating
a
power
connection has been made.
C)Firmly insert iPod/iPhone
into
dock.
iPod/iPhone charges
while
docked.

remote.

CAUTION: Do
not
cover
the
ventilation
openings
of
the
product.
The slots
on
the
top
provide
ventilation
for
the
built-in
electronic
circuitry and shall
not
be blocked.
Note:
When
handling
the
Sound
Dock®
10
8/uetooth® system,
the
front
structure
containing
the
dock
for
iPod/iPhone may feel
loose. This
is
normal. This
part
of
the
system
is
intentionally
designed
to
prevent
speaker
vibration
from
interfering
with
the
operation
of
your
iPod/iPhone.
Additional Features
• The
included
Bose®
8/uetooth®
dock
allows
you
to
stream music wirelessly
from
8/uetooth®
devices.
See
the
Bose
8/uetooth®
dock
instruction
sheet
for
additional
information
on
using
this
feature.
•
Auxiliary
input
allows
use
with
other
audio
devices.
Use
AUX
or
button
on
remote
to
switch
between
sources.
• Provides
video
output
connection
for
a TV
or
monitor.
Connect VIDEO OUT (on system)
to
VIDEO
IN
(on TV) using a standard
composite
video
cable
(not
included). Select
the
correct source on
TV.
Standby
@tThe
SoundDock® 10
8/uetooth®digital
music system goes
into
standby 30 minutes
after
any
one
of
the
following
conditions
is
detected:
• Pressing
the
remote
OFF
button.
• Removing
the
docked device.
• Selecting
AUX
and
there
is
no
audio
from
the
device connected
to
AUX
IN,
or
removing
the
plug
from
AUX
IN.
•
If
using
the
8/uetooth®
dock
and
there
is
no
8/uetooth®
connection
after
searching
for
30 minutes.
Note: The system never goes
into
standby
while
a device
is
docked.
Troubleshooting
iPod/iPhone does
not
dock
properly:
• Check
for
obstructions
in
dock
connectors
and
reseat device.
No sound:
•
Make
sure system has AC
power.
• Turn system
volume
up
and
assure source
is
playing.
Volume
can be
adjusted
using
the
+1-
on
the
remote.
•
Press
the
source
button
(dock
or
AUX)
on
the
remote
for
the
source
you
are using.
• Remove iPod/iPhone
from
dock
for
5 seconds,
then
firmly
reseat
it.
•
Unplug
power
cord
for
1
minute,
then
plug
back in. This resets
the
system.
iPod/iPhone does
not
respond
to
remote
control:
• Assure
you
point
the
remote
directly
at
the
middle
of
the
system.
• Replace
remote
battery.
