•DO NOT leave heater unattended when hot or in use. Only adults are to operate this heater;
keep children and pets safely away. Carefully monitor all activity around heater to avoid burns
or other injuries.
• All burning appliances consume oxygen. This heater uses oxygen from the air. When used in
any inside area provide a fresh air opening of at least 6 square inches (39 cm2). Ample
ventilation must be provided to avoid endangering your life. Be certain that the area in which
this appliance is used is properly ventilated at all times.
•DO NOT operate heater within 36 inches (1 meter) from any flammable materials including
tent walls, sleeping bags, clothing, walls and ceilings.
•When used indoors, mount the heater at least 24 inches (61 centimeters) above floor.

WARNING
• Propane gas is extremely flammable, follow these instructions:
•DO NOT store or use gasoline or other liquids/aerosols with flammable vapors in the
vicinity of this appliance.
• Use only 16.4 oz. LP-gas cylinder(s) constructed and marked in accordance with the
specifications for LP-gas cylinders of the United States Department of Transportation
(DOT) or Transport Canada, CAN/CSA 339. DO NOT use 14.1 oz. propane cylinders.
DO NOT use fuel other than propane.
• Always attach or detach propane cylinder outdoors away from flame, pilot lights or
other sources of ignition and only when appliance is cool to touch.
• Read and follow all warnings and instructions on or accompanying propane cylinder.
• Always inspect appliance, propane cylinder and propane connections for damage, dirt
or debris before attaching propane cylinder. DO NOT use if either has been damaged,
punctured or modified.
• Follow directions in the "Gas Leak Testing" section on page 4 of this manual. Never test
for gas leaks with a lit match or open flame. DO NOT operate the heater with a gas leak.
•When transporting, not using, or storing heater always disconnect propane cylinder.
•DO NOT connect to a remote gas supply such as natural gas or a refillable propane
cylinder.
•In case of fire, use Type 'BC' fire extinguisher or other appropriate means to extinguish
fire.
• Keep hands, face and hair away from heater. Use matches or long-nosed lighter to light
the heater. DO NOT wear loose clothing or allow long hair to hang freely while lighting or
using heater.
• Always snap down legs to locked position, before installing propane cylinder. Use only on
a flat, level surface.
• This heater gets very hot, but no flame is visible. DO NOT move heater while in use. Avoid
touching hot surfaces.
•DO NOT use heater for cooking or warming items.
•DO NOT use heater in rain or snow. Moisture on the pad will extinguish the catalytic
process.
• Avoid operating heater in high wind.
• To avoid damage to the catalyst, do not allow pad to come in contact with or around
silicone based products (paints, lubricants, etc.).
• Only use replacement/accessory parts manufactured by The Brinkmann Corporation.
Repairs should be performed by The Brinkmann Corporation. For parts or repairs contact
The Brinkmann Corporation’s Customer Service Department at 1-800-527-0717.
• Properly dispose of all packaging materials.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

CAREFULLY BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR OPERATING YOUR STOVE.
Inspect contents of the box to ensure all parts are included and undamaged.

Step 1
Fully extend wire legs.
Step 2
Make sure control knob is in "OFF"
position.
Step 3
Attach propane cylinder to heater fitting.
HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Do not cross-thread
connections.
Step 4
Follow "Gas Leak Testing" instructions on
page 4 of this manual.
WARNING: Always extend wire legs before
installing propane cylinder. Use only
on a flat surface.

Step 1
Assemble heater per "Assembly Instructions" on
page 3 of this manual. Make sure control knob is
in "OFF" position.
Step 2
Prepare a soapy water solution (one part
dishwashing liquid to three parts water) to test
for gas leaks in the connection. Apply a generous
amount of the soapy mixture to the propane
cylinder and fitting (located underneath heater).
Step 3
With the control knob in the "OFF" position, check
for bubbles where propane canister attaches to
heater fitting. If soapy mixture starts bubbling,
gas is leaking through the connection.
Disconnect the propane canister. Retighten the
connection that is leaking gas. Repeat procedure
with soapy mixture until gas no longer leaks.
NEVER USE A FLAME TO CHECK FOR GAS
LEAKS.
Step 4
Once all gas leaks have been sealed, WAIT AT
LEAST 5 MINUTES FOR GAS FUMES TO
DISSIPATE BEFORE LIGHTING THE HEATER.
Carefully follow "Operating Instructions" to light
the heater and properly operate this unit.
GAS LEAK TESTING
WARNING
• Gas leak testing must be performed outdoors in a well ventilated area every time cylinder is connected
to heater.
• Use caution when performing gas leak testing to avoid moisture from coming in contact with the pad.
Moisture on the pad extinguishes the catalytic process.
• Always keep unit away from open flames, sparks or lit cigarettes.
• Never use a flame to check for gas leaks.
•The control knob is used when lighting the heater and to adjust the heat output.
• Never use a unit that has a gas leak. Contact The Brinkmann Corporation’s Customer Service
Department for replacement parts or repairs at 1-800-527-0717.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Make sure "Gas Leak Testing" from page 4 was completed
and the control knob is in the "OFF" position and heater is on
a flat surface away from combustible material.
Step 2
Using a match, hold the flame near the bottom of the heater
grill. Turn the control knob to “START” and hold until heater
lights.
NOTE: Heater will light with a brief visible flame that will
cover the heater grill for a few seconds. Continue to
hold the control knob in the “START” position for
another 10 seconds.
WARNING: If the heater does not light within 10-20 seconds,
turn the control knob "OFF" immediately. Wait at
least 5 minutes until gas fumes have dissipated
before attempting to light the heater again.
Step 3
The heater should start emitting heat from the heater grill.
Adjust heat output to “LOW” or “HIGH” as necessary by
using control knob. The heat indicator should move from
black to red as the heater warms up. If heater does not
warm up within 2-3 minutes, turn “OFF” and wait at least
5 minutes until gas fumes have
dissipated before attempting to
light the heater again. Turn heater

heater is not in use.
Step 4
After use, allow heater to cool completely, then follow
instructions in the "After-Use Safety" and "Proper Care &
Maintenance" sections of this manual.

AFTER-USE SAFETY
• Always allow the heater to cool completely before handling.
• When disconnecting propane cylinder, a small amount of LP gas is released until cylinder is completely
removed. Cylinder contains a self-sealing valve.
• Always disconnect the propane cylinder from heater when not in use - replace cap on the propane
cylinder.
• Store propane cylinder in a well ventilated area away from any heat source or open flame.
• Always attach or detach propane cylinder outdoors away from flame, pilot lights or other sources of
ignition and only when appliance is cool to touch.
• Wipe exposed parts of heater with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials or expose heater to moisture.
• To protect your heater, the unit must be kept clean, dry and covered at all times when not in use.
• Repairs should be performed by The Brinkmann Corporation. For parts or repairs, contact The Brinkmann
Corporation’s Customer Service Department at 1-800-527-0717.
• Cover and store heater in a protected area away from children and pets.
• After product has been stored and prior to reusing, verify that heater is free from leaves, insects, spider
webs, dirt, etc. as these items can obstruct the flow of combustion air.
•DO NOT use if heater is not operating properly.
• This heater requires an unobstructed airflow to operate correctly.
•During use or storage, always keep the heater area clear and free of combustible materials, gasoline and
other flammable vapors and liquids.
• To avoid damage to the catalyst, do not allow pad to come in contact with or around silicone based
products (paints, lubricants, etc.).

adultes doivent se servir de ce radiateur ; ne pas laisser les enfants ni les animaux de
compagnie s’en approcher. Surveiller attentivement toutes les activités se déroulant au
voisinage du radiateur pour éviter des brûlures ou d’autres blessures.
• Tous les appareils à combustion consomment de l'oxygène. Ce radiateur utilise l'oxygène de
l'air. Lorsqu'il est utilisé dans tout local intérieur, prévoir une bouche d’aération d'au moins 39
cm2(6 po2). Prévoir une abondante ventilation pour ne mettre aucune vie en danger. Veiller à ce
que l’endroit où ce radiateur est utilisé soit aéré correctement en permanence.
•NE PAS faire fonctionner le radiateur à moins de 1 mètre (36 po) de toute matière inflammable,
y compris les parois de tentes, les sacs de couchage, les vêtements, les murs et les plafonds.
•Lorsqu'il est utilisé à l'intérieur, monter le radiateur à au moins 61 cm (24 po) au-dessus du
sol.

AVERTISSEMENT
• Le gaz propane est extrêmement inflammable ; suivre les instructions suivantes :
•NE PAS entreposer ni utiliser de l'essence ni d'autres liquides ou aérosols produisant
des vapeurs inflammables au voisinage de cet appareil.
•Utiliser uniquement des bouteilles de propane liquéfié de 468 grams (16,4 oz)
fabriquées et estampillées conformément aux spécifications applicables aux bouteilles de
propane liquéfié établies par le ministère des transports des États-Unis (DOT) ou par
Transport Canada, CAN/ACNOR 339. NE PAS utiliser de bouteilles de propane de 400
grams(14,1 oz) ni de combustible autre que du propane.
• Toujours raccorder et débrancher la bouteille de propane à l’extérieur à l’écart des
flammes, veilleuses ou autres sources d’inflammation et uniquement lorsque l’appareil
est froid au toucher.
• Lire et respecter tous les avertissements et instructions figurant sur la bouteille de
propane ou l’accompagnant.
• Toujours examiner l’appareil, la bouteille de propane et le branchement de celle-ci pour
voir s’ils sont endommagés ou encrassés avant de raccorder la bouteille de propane.
NE PAS utiliser l’appareil si l’un de ces éléments a été endommagé, perforé ou modifié.
•Suivre les directives données dans la section “Contrôle d’étanchéité” à la page 11 de
cette notice. Ne jamais contrôler l’étanchéité avec une allumette allumée ou une flamme
nue. NE PAS faire fonctionner le radiateur en cas de fuite de gaz.
• Toujours débrancher la bouteille de propane pendant le transport et pendant les
périodes d’inutilisation ou de remisage du radiateur.
•NE PAS raccorder l’appareil à une source de gaz à distance telle que gaz naturel ou
bouteille de propane remplissable.
•En cas d’incendie, utiliser un extincteur du type ‘BC’ ou d’autres moyens appropriés pour
éteindre le feu.

AVERTISSEMENT
• Ne pas approcher les mains, le visage ni les cheveux du radiateur. Utiliser des allumettes
ou un allumeur à long bec pour allumer le radiateur. NE PAS porter de vêtements amples
ni laisser des cheveux longs pendre librement pendant l’allumage ou l’utilisation du
radiateur.
•Toujours abaisser les pieds pour les enclencher en position verrouillée avant de mettre la
bouteille de propane en place. N’utiliser l’appareil que sur un sol plat et horizontal.
• Ce radiateur devient très chaud mais aucune flamme n’est visible. NE PAS le déplacer
alors qu’il est en marche. Éviter de toucher les surfaces brûlantes.
•NE PAS se servir du radiateur pour cuire ou réchauffer des plats.
•NE PAS utiliser le radiateur sous la pluie ou la neige. L’humidité se déposant sur le tampon
interrompra la réduction catalytique.
•Éviter de faire fonctionner le radiateur par grand vent.
• Pour éviter d’endommager le catalyseur, empêcher tout contact ou proximité entre le
tampon et les produits à base de silicone (peintures, lubrifiants, etc.).
•N’utiliser que des pièces de rechange et accessoires fabriqués par The Brinkmann
Corporation, qui doit effectuer les réparations. Pour les pièces et réparations, prendre
contact avec le département du service après-vente de The Brinkmann Corporation au
1-800-527-0717.
•Mettre tous les matériaux d’emballage au rebut comme il convient.
