2. Overview
The purpose of this ocument is to get the user up an running as quick as possible. Please refer to the
complete User Manuel for more etails on the pro uct.
The pictures below show both the front an back panels of the BrioConnect™ evice.

3. Initial setu
1. Close the WiFi of the laptop.
2. Connect a regular Ethernet cable (not crossover) from the Brioconnect™ to a laptop.

3. Insert the 3FF Micro-SIM Car with the contacts facing up as shown below. A “click” will be felt
when the SIM car has been fully inserte .

6. Wait about 2 minutes for the unit to boot an to receive an IP a ress from the DHCP server.
The STAT LED will turn green when the boot is finish.

4. Device configuration
This section walks the user through connecting the gateway for the first time. The initial configuration
of the BrioConnect™ unit will be one locally using the web page interface. Later on, it will be possible
to manage the evice remotely via a clou -base evice management platform provi e freely by
Briowireless.
4.1. Configure the APN using the local web interface
Once the evice is powere up, the mobile settings first nee to be configure on the evice to be able
to connect to the cellular network. The user shoul follow the steps below:
1- Open a web browser an navigate to https://brioconnect.io or https://192.168.202.1. If the
connection is successful, the login screen is isplaye where the passwor shoul be entere .
The efault passwor is admin.

For security, we recommen changing the efault passwor imme iately after first log in.

The browser may show a warning in icating that the brioconnect.io is not secure ue to a
problem in the verification of the certificate issuer's authority. The figure below shows a
warning message on Chrome web browser.

In fact, there are no security issues to worry about as the BrioConnect™ implements a secure
HTTPS using a self-assigne certificate. This message can be safely ignore an the user shoul
click on the ADVANCED button on the warning page an then on Proceed to brioconnect.io
(unsafe).

2- An APN nee s to be configure to allow the BrioConnect™ to register to the cellular network.
On the local web interface, click on the Mobile Setting sub menu an enter the APN in the
Access Point Name fiel as shown in the following screen.

3- Click A ly Settings to save the setting.
4- The evice will initiate the connection to the cellular network an the CELL LED shoul turn
green in few secon s.
5- From there you can continue to use the local web interface, or you can go to the next section to
register the evice to the Clou .

4.2. Device registration on the cloud
The BrioConnect™ gateway can also be configure from the clou at htt s://brios here.io. The
Briowireless Clou is a free solution that allows users to access, control an maintain their evices from
a remote location. For the BrioConnect™ evice to be use with the clou , it nee s to be registere with
the user’s account. The evice oesn’t necessarily nee to be connecte to cellular uring the
registration process.
1- Navigate to https://briosphere.io . If successful, the login screen will be isplaye .

2- To a a new account, the user shoul click on the a symbol locate in the top right corner of
the login screen.

the BrioConnect™ with the user’s account is ma e through the unit serial number (SN) an
roduct key that are printe on a label attache on the back of the unit. The following is an

4- Once all the information is fille , the REGISTER button shoul be clicke . An account will be
create an if the evice has not been previously registere with another account, the user
shoul receive an e-mail confirming the registration.

5. LED
The following table escribes the states of the LEDs locate at the front of the unit.

Device is performing a firmware upgra e.
Flashing Re The LED flashes 3 times to in icate that the evice has being
reset to Factory Default settings. This happens when the
Factory Reset button is presse for about 20 secon s after the
evice power up.
Stea y Re A problem is encountere uring boot. The evice nee s to be
reset.
CELL
Stea y Green Cellular ata connection is establishe .
Flashing Green Cellular ata activity. Data is being transferre to/from cellular
network.
Stea y Orange Cellular network connecte , but no ata communications
available. The unit is trying to establish ata connection.
Stea y Re Fault in ata connection or no cellular network connection.
This also inclu es SIM car errors.
Off Device is booting, network registration has not starte yet.
