access tech ology the BrioCo ect™ gateway is co ected to, either the couple of
metrics EC/NO a d RSCP (for 3G) or the couple RSRP a d RSSI (for LTE) eeds to be

Good sig al stre gth a d quality e sure that better performa ce is obtai ed from the BrioCo ect™
device. The followi g helps u dersta di g a d i terpreti g the sig al i fo parameters:
- For 2-3G cellular etworks:
- The lower EC/NO value, the better the quality.
- The higher RSCP value, the better the sig al stre gth.
The two parameters eed to be i terpreted i co ju ctio s. For example, low RSCP a d high
EC/IO is bad, but low RSCP a d low EC/IO is great.
- For 4G (LTE) cellular etwork: The higher the values of RSRP a d RSSI are, the better are the sig al
stre gth a d quality.
Refer to Appe dix A- Sig al stre gth a d quality for further i formatio o the ra ges of sig al stre gth
a d quality.
A site survey ca be performed by usi g the LED LINK i dicator i order to place the BrioCo ect™
gateway i a locatio that gives the stro gest RF sig al. The LINK led is updated every mi ute a d ca

- Gree : Stro g sig al
- Ora ge: Medium sig al
- Red: Weak sig al

at
all times, u less the RF
sig al is blocked, or the device is out of the etwork coverage. The highest the sig al
stre gth, the highest the ba dwidth the device will get from the cellular etwork. If poor
sig al quality is experie ced, co sider movi g the BrioCo ect™ gateway to a ew locatio
to e sure that the RF sig al is ot obstructed.
There are ma y ways to improve the sig al receptio :
- Choose a locatio that avoids obstacles that may block the RF sig al (large walls, metallic
structures, etc.). Avoidi g metallic structures a d large walls might also improve co siderably the
sig al stre gth,
- Avoid a y source of radio i terfere ce (example: microwave, wireless devices, etc.),
- I stalli g the BrioCo ect™ ear to a wi dow i the directio of the earest cellular tower.

The BrioCo ect™ gateway ca also be co figured from the cloud at https://briosphere.io. The
Briosphere cloud is a free solutio that allows users to access, co trol a d mai tai their devices from a
remote locatio . For the BrioCo ect™ device to be used with the cloud, it eeds to be registered with
the user’s accou t. The device does ’t ecessarily eed to be co ected to cellular etwork duri g the
registratio process.
There are 2 differe t ways to register the BrioCo ect™ u it depe di g whether the user has a
existi g accou t or ot.
If the user doesn’t have a Cloud account, the steps below should be followed to create a ew user’s
accou t a d at the same time register the device:
1- Navigate to https://briosphere.io. If successful, the logi scree will be displayed.
